I agree with you very much! Yuzuru's figure skating is still evolving so far. The difficulty and value of his show has been beyond the definition of points. The current scores have lost credibility and cannot represent the scores that Yuzuru should have . Yuzuru still insists on technology and art. The pursuit of the best show that brings the world and yourself, such courage to fear the darkness is admirable!

In one of his skates all he focussed on was the jumps that had four rotations so he would get all the points but the piece was mostly just him skating, preparing and getting out of those jumps and personally that just makes me think he shouldn’t be scored as high as someone like Yuzuru but now the scoring has changed and that’s how he’s playing the game so 🤷🏼♀️

Nathan Chen sure can jump but tbh his performance doesn’t really stick with me and what I mean by that is I’m just like “oh wow” but then I’ll forget about it. Hanyu Yuzuru’s performance is simply brilliance. The amount of care, passion, dedication, the theme or story he wants to share it all comes through and it sticks to you like some sort of unforgettable feelings. I somehow get teary when I watch his videos. HANYU YUZURU REELS YOU RIGHT IN!! That’s why he’ll always be one of a kind.
Idk how many times I've cried over his performances. Everytime I rewatch one of his performances it would feel new then I'd get goosebumps and cry again.
LLE 5311 true it’s like he is saying that figure skating isn’t all about the toe loops or quads or amazing jumps or sequencing. He conveys something a lot more intimate to all who’ll watch or see him perform and you can feel the artistry and all the dedication a person can give.
personally, I think Yuzuru's jumps are better too, like he has a better flow, he looks "effortless" in a way, which isn't something I seen with Nathan's stuff

I wonder if I can do the same” and I’m like “doooon’t you’ll die”but because his jumps and the transition between them are so natural that it seems so effortless but in reality they’re crazy hard. The combinations he does + the overall performance it’s just simply amazing.
That's true but Nathan got more points. In the 2018/19 season he was stronger than Yuzu. Also only the the three last seasons count in the list. That's why. You can see it at the official ISU World Standings Site.
CeCe Pc nathan chen is often overscored though, scores are manipulated sometimes. nathan chen surely has a lot of talent and is technically perfect, but i think that if he’s maths, then yuzuru is art. no one puts the emotion yuzuru puts in skating, no one.

Yuzuru Hanyu is honestly beyond incredible, he's just special and unique in his own ways, even if his performances aren't always perfect, it still has a big impact and hits diffrent, not only is he talented, but also dedicated, you can feel how much skating means to him and how much passion and effort he puts into it, and THAT is what makes him shine the brightest, his personality is one if not the best ever, he's friendly, humble, respectful and just so nice, definitly the most memorable, inspiring skater of all time and personally my favorite (also, he's the reason i got into skating)

I thought the same. I am new to all this and I kinda feel bad for Nathan because some people are being just mean. One comment even said that Nathan shouldn't be given the honor to be compared to Yuzu until he wins more competitions which is outright rude to me. Like I get that Yuzu is a brilliant skater but no need to act like he is a god and all the other skaters are nothing, especially Nathan. I also strongly believe that Yuzu doesn't think like that about Nathan and the others so why not keeping it friendly?

Putting someone on pedestal is not good for any party involved and especially the person on pedestal. Being a fan of someone is fine but worshipping is just over the top. I cringe so bad when any fan group of any celebrity or show I like hail that person or thing as the second coming of Jesus coz' nothing good comes out of it except toxicity and it prevents other people from enjoying that person/show etc. in their own right. And both Yuzuru and Nathan are brilliant in their own right. It's a competitive sport so only one can stand on top, it doesn't mean that the rest are worthless or undeserving of praise.

Evgeni Plushenko has always been my ice skating idol, then I saw Yuzuru-san on the Olympics and I fell in love. He's not just an ice skater, he's an artist and I strive to be an ice skater like him some day ☺️
If Yuzu didn't have to sit out several competitions in three seasons, he would've been still at the top and will be there for a long time. Also, he has won so many awards than what is listed here by the way. GOAT
I was not a fan of figure skating because before I can only see them "slide" and "jump". I was not even interested in all technicalities. But I saw Yuzuru Hanyu performing Hana wa Saku way back 2014 in NHK, I was mesmerized. How can dancing in the ice convey so much emotion? It was so beautiful. That's how I got interest in the sport. Hope the future generation of figure skaters learn not just the technicalities of the game but also how can they can deliver the beauty of figure skating.
This was exciting to watch 😂 I'm really proud of the top 3. I'm excited to see what this season will bring. Especially since we'll be getting a Nathan Chen and Yuzuru Face off. Shoma Uno also shows lots of promise.
