I like Chinx. I was born b4 independence. Remind me again, what Dickson did that liberated Zim? If Chinx had not done the things you attribute to him in your answer above, would Zimbabwe's Independence have been delayed?? In my opinion, this is a simplified criteria for picking outstanding fellow countrymen and women. What did ED himself actually DO?
@@djlankzin5770 please kindly revisit your history again, what he did during the liberation struggle is a no-brainer. I won't dwell on that here especially to my elders who are fully aware.
I'm South African lessoning to this country revolution songs they make cry thinking about how we South African got help by Zipra Zanla and Cad Samora MiChael yet we don't want Zambia Zimbabwean and Mozambiquens
How on earth was Cde Chingaira denied national hero status, this hero was something else. After listening to this song as a soldier seriously one could gain courage and resilliance in the bush and fight without fear hesitation or failure.
To not acknowledge Cde Chinx Chingaira as a War hero is evil at its highest level. Some people failed to properly acknowledge him so as to push their childish agenda. This guy is a national hero.....he fought the war with his motivational songs and morale .We as the citizens of Zimbabwe will always acknowledge him as o e our our liberation heroes.RIP Cde Chinx

It was a song against the white colonialists who partitioned Africa amongst themselves. They are singing "maruza imi!" Meaning to say you arw defeated. This was probably in Mozambique during the liberation war of Zimbabwe if im not mistaken. The lead singer was Cde Chinx and the one giving instruction to them Solomon Mujuru.
@@ziwewetThis wasn't Mozambique. This was at Dzapasi assembly camp in Buhera during the ceasefire. The white soldiers are probably part of UN observation mission to keep peace up to the elections.
@@mosi_oa_tunya3561 This was during ceasefire at Dzapasi camp. Obviously this mingling of armies wouldn't have happened during the war. It would have been a blood bath. The white soldiers were British, Australian, Canadian etc which were part of the UN peacekeepers who were in charge of assembly camps from ceasefire till elections.
I really wish someone would upload the song recorded after independence. There is the Maruza Imi by Comrade Mhere but I want the Maruza Imi by Comrade Chinx
Even us Born free's know that Cde Chinx was a Hero, he was, is, and will always be a hero.
Wish they knew! Some things Passed you will never know. No matter how hard you try!
Interesting engineer..
I think we should now change born free to born after the war...
