@@ajclips2540 1997 is not really mid 90’s :) But either way, no one owes you anything in life, and if you didn’t resonate with their music post 2000 anymore, it is sad, I understand that, but it is not realistic to expect other people to “deliver” something. Creating music comes from the heart and the sound can’t be done by request. I agree that no album sounds like GL or RR, I’ve been listening to the since I was 11 and they released RR. These 2 albums will forever be my favorites too and I don’t feel anything that came out after these 2 albums ever matched the sound and feeling, but I still enjoyed all their music and respect the fact that the artist doesn’t produce music to please me or anyone else.

I'm 33, I know how you feel. I've been listening to HIM since Razorblade Romance and Love Metal. Prime HIM in my opinion. It's a good flashback feeling seeing him make a comeback with his solo work with a HIM vibe.
That's about the same age I was when I started listening to HIM. My best memories are from 14-16 when I was a devout follower of HIM. My high-school sweetheart got me into them. I will never forget being 16 years old driving through the country roads at night with her listening to HIM. Beautiful moments.
There are some artists that can sing really well but that also have a rare talent to awaken deep emotions inside us. Ville is one of them. He seems wild like a wolf but when we hear his voice, we feel at home because he is a lighthouse on the darkest night and the sunlight behind an eclipse. Vile Vallo is all this and so much more...

Happened to me in San Antonio. Or at least it looked like that to me, but I did feel like he's looking right at me smiling, I was locked in. I was maybe in the 5th row in front of stage with my gf singing along. I look like a regular 30+ guy now, but back when I was 16-17 all the way in Russia I dressed in HIM style and wore eyeliner to match Ville.

I didn’t realize how much I missed HIM until I heard this. I have so much of my younger years tied to this band. To hear it as a completely different person in a completely different place in life and still love it makes me so happy.

This man is so talented and I didn't know that he actually wrote all of this and played all of this on his own untill recently. He's incredible and one of the best male voices that has ever existed. Like many others here I am so incredibly happy that he's back, I've never really realised how much I missed his sound untill I heard this song. Ohhhh, same! HIM has always been my favorite band and since I was 8 years old and nothing has changed. Ville has a big, special place in my heart, so seeing and hearing him again is just so calming yet so, so emotional and nostalgic. He was just quiet for a while, that's all...when I think at H.I.M and Ville I feel like a teenager again. I remember very well that I was so in love, Ville was I my teenager eyes the most beautiful man on earth. I have 37 years old and in my heart nobody compares to Ville. Because his voice was with me a log part of my life. I even learned finnish to understand his suomi interviews. Was one of the most beautiful things that I have done, to understand his language. I will see him live on Neon Noir tour, next year and my dream will come true.

Out of a million voices, I would recognize his. 22 years have gone by, and I still love that voice and no words can express what it means to me to hear it again with a new song. The sound of the music is smoother, the metal edges have been somewhat tuned down, but the essence is still the same that it was 22 years ago and it feels so much like coming home. 🖤 I'm crying happy tears right now.

It has to be an insane amount of work for an artist to alone, and after the amount of effort Ville put into the album I wasn't sure if he's stated how he planned to perform. At the end of the day, I would go to a Ville "lip sync battle" for how hyped I am right now!
The title of the song, "Loveletting," is a reference to the act of bloodletting, or the removal of blood from a patient to prevent or cure an illness. In the context of the song and its lyrics, clearly it's meant to evoke letting go of love, for the better. In the video, and maybe the song too, it could be Ville "loveletting" HIM. You could read the "two heartbeats" as HIM and VV. The sheep is perhaps symbolic of peace, or maybe extrapolated into "acceptance" in this scenario. The video begins with heavy, dark clouds dominating the skies, his "endless sorrow." After meeting the sheep, the clouds begin to move, and Ville opens the umbrella to shield himself from the coming storm (anticipating that "letting go" will only bring pain). Only for the clouds to move on harmlessly, the rain instead coming from within himself. In this sequence we see light over Ville's eyes--he sees the light in the darkness and understands that the suffering is self-inflicted. Then, we have a scene of Ville having dinner with the sheep, an intimate moment. He even pulls himself across the table, showing his willingness to open himself to making peace and moving on. The bloodbag, new blood, slowly transitioning him into a new self. A short shot after shows the sheep and Ville reflected in rain puddles, Ville holding the umbrella down, walking freely through the storm. The sequence with the TV is clearly evoking nostalgia and retrospect. Flames flicker behind the images shown, as Ville is finally ready to say goodbye to the past, sheep at his side. But this, too, is an act of love and respect. ("so beautiful you are, in the light of the setting sun") And then the final shot, the clouds dissipating to show a sunrise, a new day, a new Ville. Bonus: every time Ville's character in the video is actually singing along, the lyrics match his feelings as he slowly accepts his new path in life. Beautiful song and video. Glad to have you back.
I think it's about his standard topic but transformed into something new and more mature. Maybe about a person he's in love with (it was always about it in his songs), and as he always had intense, conflicting feelings and situations in his love life, he learned to make it right, the way is to lovelet it, to let him feel that love without trying to control it, while also to let it go and instead learn to love and accept himself as a whole person, on his own, his "black sheep" part, that feels inadequate and causes him suffering. To befriend it, and other things around that happen, that seem frightening. I heard him say in an interview how there are always some annoyances in each person's life, and without troubles, we wouldn't be human, and that you can go through it always to hopefully find the light at the end of a tunnel, and added that it hopefully isn't an oncoming train. I don't know, how I see him, then and now, I relate to it. He motivates me to start modeling him in that way, as I've been suppressing that need and talent in myself, to create out of suffering. He seems on a recent video from Spotify more authentic, accepting of imperfections, and that he doesn't need to hide that he's nervous, as he did before, and it also shows in the interviews.

Alternatively the video is filled with vague images meant to be interpreted as visual metaphor without being too specific about *what* the meaning is so that viewers are able to assign whatever meanings pops into their mind accompanying the lyrics. AKA this was designed in a lab.
@@redhoodaku Ish. I don't disagree with you. But this guy isn't some small time artist. He's signed to universal. Anything to come out of corporate *anything* is designed. They cater to an audience. To put it another way; you don't sign to a massive music label because you have some art you want to make. They agree to sign you because they have the $$$ and you're a known commodity. Picasso was art. Vaporwave was art especially with stuff like macintosh plus. This is something giving the appearance of art. It has the gothic aesthetic but see if you can find the people that work at Universal. They are neither goth nor artists but corporate.
To me, this video is about this: Ville is now much more mature. He has accepted his "black sheep" side, and he's in love with it. "Two heartbeats out of sync", that's like "two of my sides that are different". When the rain comes (depression, melancholy, sadness) he just pops his umbrella and keeps going. That's who he is after all, and he's ok with it. He won't fight the rain no more, but he also won't let it get in his way. He'll just go along with life while carrying it. Now, look at how he admires the sheep, the way he looks at his friend who is, actually, himself. He's saying like "I know they see you as a black sheep, but to me, you're the love of my life". He's been sad, he's been sick (blood transfusion scene) but he was thankful for this other side of him (toast) who's always been there by his side. And maybe, if it wasn't for that, he would be long gone. The sheep behind him at the end just confirms they are the same. They are one, but one with two heartbeats, each in their own rythm.

He's stated this in interviews, he likes to keep his views separate from his work which is more cathartic material from his personal relationships and his views on the ups and downs of love in general. It's an interesting idea though! And you're spot on with Muse! Megadeth as well are full on with their views of the NWO and corruption in the world. Both unapologetically so too it seems. Great psychological feeling. It's always like that. Melancholy (black lady, black sheep even better, because it's like natural part of soul, something very naive, very feeling) it always comes to defend us from destruction, from refusal to feel at all. He is such an amazing artist. Vocals and writing. I first heard his music when I worked at production studio were they shot a video with Bam. I loved his covers and a lot of the music. Imagine how shitty I felt when I learned they played one of their last concerts in NYC a BLOCK a way from my then job and a girl sitting next to me in office went to see HIM and I did not for some stupid reason. And then I learned HIM was gone so I never saw them live. And I now was given a second chance to see him live and I used it and I will do it again in a heart bit if he tours again. In fact I will go to all of the concerts of him in TX if he tours several cities again like he did last month.
Agh this has made my day. Ville's voice feels like home. It's like someone just wrapped me with a cosy and a warm blanket. I have so much hope there will be a live performance somewhere, someday.. Happened to me in San Antonio. Or at least it looked like that to me, but I did feel like he's looking right at me smiling, I was locked in. I was maybe in the 5th row in front of stage with my gf singing along. I’m a bartender and hearing this ing yesterday I decided to go in to work and que up my juke box with all the him albums and play it all back to back people were not amused xD
He is like an old friend who finally came back home, in our hearts where he always was and will ever be. He was just quiet for a while, that's all...when I think at H.I.M and Ville I feel like a teenager again. I remember very well that I was so in love, Ville was I my teenager eyes the most beautiful man on earth. I have 37 years old and in my heart nobody compares to Ville. Because his voice was with me a log part of my life. I even learned finnish to understand his suomi interviews. Was one of the most beautiful things that I have done, to understand his language.
I will see him live on Neon Noir tour, next year and my dream will come true.

Out of a million voices, I would recognize his. 22 years have gone by, and I still love that voice and no words can express what it means to me to hear it again with a new song. The sound of the music is smoother, the metal edges have been somewhat tuned down, but the essence is still the same that it was 22 years ago and it feels so much like coming home. 🖤 I'm crying happy tears right now.

The title of the song, "Loveletting," is a reference to the act of bloodletting, or the removal of blood from a patient to prevent or cure an illness.
In the context of the song and its lyrics, clearly it's meant to evoke letting go of love, for the better.
In the video, and maybe the song too, it could be Ville "loveletting" HIM. You could read the "two heartbeats" as HIM and VV.
The sheep is perhaps symbolic of peace, or maybe extrapolated into "acceptance" in this scenario.
The video begins with heavy, dark clouds dominating the skies, his "endless sorrow." After meeting the sheep, the clouds begin to move, and Ville opens the umbrella to shield himself from the coming storm (anticipating that "letting go" will only bring pain).
Only for the clouds to move on harmlessly, the rain instead coming from within himself. In this sequence we see light over Ville's eyes--he sees the light in the darkness and understands that the suffering is self-inflicted.
Then, we have a scene of Ville having dinner with the sheep, an intimate moment. He even pulls himself across the table, showing his willingness to open himself to making peace and moving on. The bloodbag, new blood, slowly transitioning him into a new self.
A short shot after shows the sheep and Ville reflected in rain puddles, Ville holding the umbrella down, walking freely through the storm.
The sequence with the TV is clearly evoking nostalgia and retrospect. Flames flicker behind the images shown, as Ville is finally ready to say goodbye to the past, sheep at his side. But this, too, is an act of love and respect. ("so beautiful you are, in the light of the setting sun")
And then the final shot, the clouds dissipating to show a sunrise, a new day, a new Ville.
Bonus: every time Ville's character in the video is actually singing along, the lyrics match his feelings as he slowly accepts his new path in life.

I think it's about his standard topic but transformed into something new and more mature. Maybe about a person he's in love with (it was always about it in his songs), and as he always had intense, conflicting feelings and situations in his love life, he learned to make it right, the way is to lovelet it, to let him feel that love without trying to control it, while also to let it go and instead learn to love and accept himself as a whole person, on his own, his "black sheep" part, that feels inadequate and causes him suffering. To befriend it, and other things around that happen, that seem frightening. I heard him say in an interview how there are always some annoyances in each person's life, and without troubles, we wouldn't be human, and that you can go through it always to hopefully find the light at the end of a tunnel, and added that it hopefully isn't an oncoming train. I don't know, how I see him, then and now, I relate to it. He motivates me to start modeling him in that way, as I've been suppressing that need and talent in myself, to create out of suffering. He seems on a recent video from Spotify more authentic, accepting of imperfections, and that he doesn't need to hide that he's nervous, as he did before, and it also shows in the interviews.

To me, this video is about this: Ville is now much more mature. He has accepted his "black sheep" side, and he's in love with it. "Two heartbeats out of sync", that's like "two of my sides that are different". When the rain comes (depression, melancholy, sadness) he just pops his umbrella and keeps going. That's who he is after all, and he's ok with it. He won't fight the rain no more, but he also won't let it get in his way. He'll just go along with life while carrying it. Now, look at how he admires the sheep, the way he looks at his friend who is, actually, himself. He's saying like "I know they see you as a black sheep, but to me, you're the love of my life". He's been sad, he's been sick (blood transfusion scene) but he was thankful for this other side of him (toast) who's always been there by his side. And maybe, if it wasn't for that, he would be long gone. The sheep behind him at the end just confirms they are the same. They are one, but one with two heartbeats, each in their own rythm.
I think no. It‘s about the NWO situation, he can see what happen here on this planet. Ville is no cheep anymore, and he lets go the old world where he was blind and only a cheep/slave from the system.

grew up with HIM and i hearing this yesterday made me burst out in tears. my childhood came back to me. HIM and ville's voice brought me so much comfort as a bullied, alone and "weird" kid. thank you so much, ville for giving us beautiful music.
I’ve been a fan of HIM since I was 12 (I’m four months away from celebrating my 32nd birthday) I never thought I would get to see Ville perform live after HIM was disbanded. I finally get to experience that on Wednesday. Thank you Ville for making both childhood and adult me so happy. I can’t wait to experience your music in person.

Imagine how shitty I felt when I learned they played one of their last concerts in NYC a BLOCK a way from my then job and a girl sitting next to me in office went to see HIM and I did not for some stupid reason. And then I learned HIM was gone so I never saw them live. And I now was given a second chance to see him live and I used it and I will do it again in a heart bit if he tours again. In fact I will go to all of the concerts of him in TX if he tours several cities again like he did last month.

Agh this has made my day. Ville's voice feels like home. It's like someone just wrapped me with a cosy and a warm blanket. I have so much hope there will be a live performance somewhere, someday.. I had tickets for HIM Concert in 2015 but life happened.. and I couldn't go... I thought I would live with this missed opportunity for the rest of my life.. Now I have hope that maybe I will see Ville on stage someday after all. In the meantime, I have his voice and his music as my long time companions since 1999. *Edit:: Got my tickets for Neon noir Tour!!!!

Wish i could see Ville live on this upcoming tour .. and congratulate him for the incredible music he gifted us over the years , unfortunately my circumstances don't allow me to attend , this saddens me in some measure ..but i hope someday i will be able to do that after 20 years of indulging in HIM 's music .
