One of the nicest properties I've ever seen. Spacious but cozy. Grand but not ostentatious. Even if I had the 4 million I probably wouldn't be able to afford taxes, utilities, cleaning crew, gardeners, and general upkeep. A lovely dream! Regards from Indiana!
Comfortable. A livable house, but not an over-the-top mansion. Thanks for the viewing. A hot tub/Jacuzzi or small pool would've been nice too. Yes, not cheap at almost $4M, but value for the money. I think.
Actually, Santa Barbara sits on a shallow bay and faces south with the mountains behind or north of town. From anywhere on the west side of that bay, in the hills or down at the beach, sunrises are common. The orientation in the video does face east and all winter you can catch beautiful sun and moonrises as well, right where you see that piece of land jut out into the ocean. There are several places all around town with similar orientation. And of course, inversely, from many places on the east side of town, you guessed it, sunsets too. Cheers.
If you are referring to earthquakes, we have had a couple major ones decades ago, but nothing significant in recent history. If you are talking about "settling" then yes, we have soil that expands and contracts. It most areas is not significant other than the occasional door or window sticking a bit during different times of the year, but some areas can see more cracking in walls and need foundation retrofitting. If you are talking about land slides, we have occasional ones, but they tend to be in isolated areas with steep hillside properties. I hope that helps!
California, if this house was given free to 90% of Americans they still couldn't afford to live there. Hey, but the weather is nice in-between fires and earthquakes and mud slides
those trees! OMG so nice!
I know, right!?

Thank you for the wonderful comments!
Sunrises over the Pacific? Majestic oak trees?
Just Beautiful!
I agree!

Beautiful home but fire insurance must be hard to impossible to get?
much easier in this location than in the foothills of Santa Barbara!
Im sorry whats contemporary about 40 year old construction?
Do you have any problems with land movement in Santa Barbara?

The previous owners certainly fixed this place up, also with the fruit trees, leaving it better than they first found it. I bet they were Jewish.
I don't belive they are Jewish, but I agree, they definitely improved the property!
Only 78,00000000
Views of trees….not so much ocean!
The video doesn't do it justice! On a clear day the ocean views are gorgeous!
Nobody needs a double shower. 🤣
Well that's not true! My double shower is one of my favorite features in my house and allows you to shower with a spouse or significant other.

California's reply: We don't want nor need you here....bye!
What a fascinating perspective. The cost of living in California really isn't that much more than other states outside of housing.
Jealous much? 😂
