The oddly friendly and affectionate animosity between Mulcaster & Blanche was one of my favourite parts of this adaptation. Perfect casting. You really believe they've been frenemies forever.
"There were rather some queer fish, my dear, in and out of my little apartment, but who knows better than you my taste for queer fish." The great writing really helps, but when you have incredible acting talent on top of it, look out.
I'm never quite sure what the "Q" word actually meant back then (other than "unusual"). Perhaps people will remember Charle's father (John Gielgud) calling being strapped for cash, being on "queer street."
The absolute Genius that is Nick Grace.

They were at school together. That counts for much for Brits.
Nicholas Grace..... incomparably brilliant!
Talent personified…absolutely brilliant..l
Nicholas grace was brilliant every time he came on one wanted to laugh! Meatttty boys, indeed!
When they're lying on the bed Jeremy Irons plays it well, Jeremy Sinden is very funny but watch Nickolas Grace - an absolute masterclass.
Wonderful Characterisation 😔
I love Nickolas Grace!
Me too love him!
"Oh yes Boy - do just that!"
Stole every scene he was in.
"She seems to have forgotten you now . . "
Blanche would just get on my bloody nerves after a while if I knew him.
Ah yes, but think of all that preliminary fun...
.
Bit rich blaming Anthony for Sebastian's drink problem!
