I like both Venom movies. I mean, they do keep some of the characters storylines without the full on original origins etc. This is, from what i remember, a mix of Separation Anxiety (other symbotes are Venom spawn) and you have the arc of Eddie/Venom becoming an anti hero/protector. At least from what i remember.
The Symbiote is from a planet of clintar or something. They are a species that help enhanced the host they bond with to do heroic acts in overdrive to a point of exhaustion. But Venom gene is somewhat corrupted that it amplified the hatred and anger of Peter/Spiderman and gain spider's power in the process. But in this universe it bypassed Spiderman and bond to Eddie instead. That's why there's no spider logo on Venom's chest. This Venom and Spiderman 3 Venom is of different origins thanks to the multiverse plot.
So Venom in the comics feeds on its host adrenaline which is why it was so attracted to Spiderman and it doesn't make you act like an edge lord as much as it causes you to crave the adrenaline and behave in more risky ways also Venom lack of morality slowly effects Peters behavior as well
(This may have already been commented) but when Venom says that on his planet he is a loser too, this is a reference to the fact that of all the Symbiotes Venom is technically one of the weakest.
I have no idea how the hell I missed this until just now, but the symbiote we saw go into the rabbit is named Scream(Yes, there's more than Venom, Riot, and Carnage). We haven't met her human host, Donna Diego, yet but hopefully we will at some point.
After the 2 Venom movies, there is also one season of Daredevil and a Fantastic Four movie to watch before watching No Way Home. Then you should be caught up with every side stuff. Best way to enjoy what's to come in the MCU.
Also in "Inception" and "The Revenent" both with Leonardo DiCaprio. Personally I think one of his best movies is "Locke". Highly underrated story of a man whose life falls apart on a car ride. 🤔🇬🇧

Eddie Brock, also known as Edward Charles Allan Brock, is a fictional character in Marvel Comics. He was brought to life by David Michelinie and Todd McFarlane, first making a brief appearance in Web of Spider-Man #18 (September 1986) before fully debuting in The Amazing Spider-Man #300 (May 1988) as the iconic host of the Venom symbiote. Tom Hardy adopted an "aw-shucks American accent" for Eddie and a "James Brown lounge lizard" voice for Venom, which was eventually altered to sound more menacing.
Well, Tom Hardy is also known for Mad Max: Fury Road, The Dark Knight Rises, The Revenant, Bronson and Legend. Actually, Venom has had another host in the comics, Flash Thompson (Peter Parker's bully, but later friend and ironically is a huge Spider Man fan). The Thompson version was called Agent Venom. And Eddie Brock has had another symbiote which is called Anti-Venom. Hope you do the 2nd movie, Venom: Let There Be Carnage. If you want more alien parasites taking over the human body then watch John Carpenter's The Thing =)
Hoping you can get Train to Buscan back up. I was watching it then it was taking off while I was watching. Would love to see the rest of that reaction.
Yeh, totally agree.... this Venom movie is awesome.... I looove the fighting between Eddie and Venom, how they just don't get along but they learn to come together and work together. Tom Hardy has been in a whole host of movies, but you might know him from The Dark Knight Rises, he plays Bane in that movie (I'm fairly sure you guys watched the Dark Knight Trilogy?? I hope you did anyway). But yeh he's in Legend, Mad Max Fury Road and Inception. I love him in ALL his roles... he's just so good. I'm kinda glad us as a community kept this one quiet from you....I can guarantee you it's not coz we don't like it, I'm pretty sure it''s well-liked and well-recieved, but now it's a pleasent surprise when you watched it the first time. This is definitely the best big-screen version of Venom that's out there. Thanks again guys.... you guys are so funny together and I really love Mrs October's observations about things... she really picks up on so many details and pays way more attention than I do (even though I'm a fan of the comics). I love also that you're in for the long-haul and here to see it all. Superhero genre has its ups and downs but hopefully mostly up. Thanks. See you in the next reaction :)
Remember that this is a Sony/Marvel production not Marvel Studios/Disney so it’s not technically part of the MCU as far as Marvel/Disney is concerned. Now, Sony may have other intentions and plans but not part of the MCU. So Sony doesn’t have anything MCU related the hint or build to in a post credit scene like you’d see in a MCU movie.
The reason the host is different is the symbiote Takes on the Hosts dark aspects. The Symbiote that attached to Spider-Man made Peter was a nasty, rough, unpleasant, slimeball, because Peter was a Nice giving guy. After Peter got rid of it, it attracted to Eddy Brock. That Eddy was already a nasty, rough, unpleasant, slimeball, so it just got worse. The Symbiote always takes on part of the host when it leaves. Venom in the Comics did attach to Spider-Man. When he left Spidy, it took on part of his persona, is Spider-Man suit. That's why the Venom looks kinda like a Black Suited Spider-Man.
Sony did so much wrong with the Spider-Man movies for as much good as they did. Tom Hardy also did the voice for Venom. They just tweaked it after recording. It wasn't vibrations that irritated Venom, it was high frequency sounds (and fire). Sure the movie isn't amazing, but its still a fun time. It got far too much hate imo.
when thinking about future movie setups, remember this is a Sony movie & not a Disney/MCU movie. so when watching anything Marvel that has Sony (other then tom halland spider man), its not an MCU film
In the comics, Eddie was the third host of Venom. The first one was Deadpool. But Venom left him because he was too crazy, even for him. Then he went to Spider-Man and then Eddie
Such a great movie. The second one is pretty fun too. The success of this movie is why Sony INSISTS on trying to keep making mediocre Spiderman-less Villains movies. Nine have been as successful as the Venom movies have. I do think that upcoming Kraven movie might be good.
So the Venom movies are based on Venom’s solo comic series from the 1990’s where he became a anti hero after making amends to Spider-Man when they teamed up to fight a common enemy. Tom Hardy is the best part for both these films but the common criticism people had was that it wasn’t Rated R, weak writing, and importantly no Spider-Man. Really though Venom became a big enough character that made sense to do a what if scenario if Spider-Man wasn’t involved. However, fans biggest wish for Sony is to have Venom meet Spidey. The Venom films aren’t perfect but they’re more watchable than Sony’s recent stuff cough Madame Web cough. 😅
