New favorite song! You guys have your own unique 'style' to your music -- how do I explain it? Like how an artist has their own distinct art style (i.e. oh this work has lots of dynamic, sharp lines and bright colors! ____ drew this! oh this piece has pastelly, fuzzy colors, ____ drew this!) When it comes to music, your instrumentals sound really orchestral/nostalgic? Please keep making more music!

Really digging this track! Love the groove and the vamping.Very pop-friendly without sacrificing any MF quirkiness or intelligence.

Hmm… first listen reaction. The rhythmic monotony of dance music (hello boom tat boom tat drums). The mix also feels decidedly more like a pop mix - overly heavy on the vocals, and a lot of the interesting parts are buried in the back. Vocals have never been your strong suit, so why make them the focus of the mix? You've got all of these instruments, but this song feels like it could have been played on a couple synths and it would be pretty much the same (this could just be because the vocals are so heavy in the mix though; more listens needed to verify). I'm hoping this is just the standard popiest-song-from-the-album-as-first-release kind of thing, and that there will be more complexity in the rest of the album.

A few more listens in now. The synth comment WAS just because the vocals are overly prominent in the mix. There's a whole lot of cool stuff happening with the instrumentation… except for the drums in the latter half of the song - I've never been a fan of boom-tat-boom-tat drums though (might as well just have a ticking metronome, it's just as annoying to me). I would definitely lower the vocal level though, if I could. It just seems way too prominent in the mix.

BlameItOnGregI thought this song was plenty complex. I actually liked the higher mix on vocals, because there's always so much going on instrumentally.
I'll admit this song is "poppy," but I'd jam out to it any day. In fact I am. right now. #yamaha

BlameItOnGreg I'm also feeling an overall more "poppy" vibe from the two tracks that were just put out. "Water" had an older version that was much more mellow and a bit more mysterious, whereas this new version seems a bit watered down (I'm sorry).

Tbh I don't see the issue with the vocals clashing with the instruments since the vocals just sound like instruments to me :)
