Unfortunately it's hard to get over that negative pr. Even without it, you're still talking about a beady-eyed, airborne, nocturnal creature, often equipped with fangs, that darts around squeaking through the night sky like a wild zephyr and sleeps hanging upside down. The cuteness factor isn't entirely missing. It's just a bit overshadowed. Unfairly so, if you think about it. We have, for example, the universally endearing "teddy bear", but I don't recall ever seeing or hearing of a "teddy bat", "pooh bat" "honey bat" or "sugar bat".Disney or Pixar studios could help here. They've done it with rats, beasts, hunchbacks, operatic phantoms and other so-called monsters.
99% of human transmission is by DOG bites. (learn the truth, and spread the truth) Most wild mammals can transmit rabies. Bats are not an issue unless you go out of your way to handle them.
@@chaturamuthukumarana1809 in the UK (Scotland) just one person has got rabies, he died. However he is was netting them for tagging as wasn't wearing gloves, as we as suggested. An bat handling ecologists now have rabies vaccines. In the UK at least the rabies risk is almost zero. PS I love these things, I've been using them for years and they make IDing bat so much easier
So cool. If you can get the price down 👇 I would consider buying one. I'd like to see $20 for the bat echo locator. Adrino or raspberry pie may already have similar parts available
*Link to the app, please?*

Patrick Kitts They're adorable. I'm on this.
Also, rabies. They make great hosts for the rabies virus.
