Just the video I needed, thanks. I've set up a sellers account without registering as a sole trader or opening a business bank account.

This might be the silliest question but I am trying to register on Amazon Seller Central and when choosing whether I am a Sole Propietor (is that the same as SOLE TRADER?) it asks me for the Business Name.. which I dont have as I havent registered anything yet. What should I do? I am basically about to start selling some products on Amazon. Thanks!

They mean the same thing. You can pick any name, doesn't really matter!

Amazon allows individuals to sell without registering through either of these. Other than that a solid video.

If you register as an Individual Amazon assume you’re not planning to make a profit. If you then start making profit on Amazon, they’ll close your account.
If you’re planning to make a business through Amazon selling, set up as sole trader or ltd co.

When registering for seller account when you are a sole trader it asks for company registration number, I only have a UTR number as I am only registered for self assessment so I am confused with this

It sounds like you have put down you are a Ltd company. If you pick sole trader you are only required to provide a UTR number

If i set up as Sole trader, does the amount of tax i pay going to conflict with my own tax? cos i work in a company as a employee earning £40k so is that going to mix up my PAYE tax?

Yeah if you're a sole trader (registered with HMRC and UKGOV) You will have to file your own taxes, which is a good thing but if you live pay check to check you might be more prone to using up funds before the tax file month (April) to pay your taxes which may be an issue. So you won't have your monthly/weekly tax deducted from your salary, and you'll have to pay your own taxes at the end of the fiscal tax year in UK
