I agree he deserves more recognition, but it must also be pretty cool to be in one of the biggest rock bands in history, and still largely be able to lead a normal life outside the constant public eye
The thing I love about AC/DC is that they make me feel like I've been friends with them for years, even though I haven't met them. I feel like I'm having a conversation with them when I watch stuff like interviews even though I've never been able to say anything to them. They always puts a smile on my face and make me happy, ever since I first got into AC/DC before I could walk. thank you AC/DC. You've inspired me as a 17 year old to pick up my guitar, microphone, drums and bass and give it my best shot to make more rock n roll in the world.
AC/DC as individuals are underrated which is crazy as hell. They never got the press they should have here in the U.S. because of Tipper Gore and her bullshit vendetta against their music. They have been my favorite band for 44 yrs.
MarkanVaran7. The bass on Shot Down in Flames is not a "groove". The bass on that song is the Drive. It drives the verses and lays back on the chorus. Just pure effin 8s the whole way through except for the chorus. It's really the epitome of rock bass or how it should be. You can lose yourself and never miss a movement. Just listen to the guitars for your movements. The whole song itself is so complex in its simplicity that it's almost magic. If you can play bass it seems natural even at the end hitting the twelfth fret on the G string and then the A string with a slide down. You don't even have to think about it too much. This is probably my favorite ACDC songs. To play and listen to.

Always loved Cliff’s attitude, always positive, never self absorbed, always complimentary of others …the brother is a class act, through and through and one of the best bass players in Rock Music history.
Cliff is the unsung hero of the band. Very quite and humble guy who just goes out there, stands back in the wings and rocks with the best rock band ever. Who wouldn't give their right nut to play with this band, for 100,000 people, just once. He got to do it for 40 years.
Cliff is a legend, a grand, great, phenomenal. He does not get the attention and praise he deserves. He deserves so much more than what some people think.
This is so true. In all my years of listening to rock it seems like most of the time the bassist is least shown or spoken about. They all deserve equal recognition as they are the driving force behind the band.
in this day and age, it is so nice to see how much respect and appreciation these extremely talented musicians has for one another! they truly understand each other's role, value and love playing their music.
AC/DC is more family to each other than most actual families are. God bless them. One class act in my book. You just don't see that in bands these days. Long live Angus and AC/DC.
Cliff, I have been listening to you since 1977 so I have been with you since you started. You are a great bassist. Have been able to enjoy the band for all these years and it has been one hell of a ride. Thank you. Long live AC/DC.
For me cliff's greatest song where he did his greatest bass player was on a song from his first album ever with AC/DC their 1978 album powerage on the track sin city he had this jazz thing going on midway through the song and it actually sounded awesome. There will never be another bass player like cliff he truly is one of a kind 🤘🤘

@@jackthomson5047 Always swingin, there's even an interview with Angus where he explains what he means by saying they're a Rock n Roll Band and not a Rock Band.
Rudd is the foundation of that swing too. That's why Chris Slade only sounds good on The Razor's Edge material. He was their drummer when they did it and it meshed well but the rest of their music was all pretty much written with Rudd behind the kit and as Brian Johnson says "If it doesn't swing, it doesn't mean a thing.." He was hiding his true feelings in this interview because he left shortly after this because he said it just wasn't the same without Phil and Brian, and that's why he came back now because they are back, and the new album kicks ass I think it's the best album since Back in Black.
