Ayaan says "simple basic prayer, and surrender, worked... and I am at peace, those awful thoughts have gone, my head is clear. I'm more productive, I'm a better person. That for me is all the evidence I need" "the surrender is help me God, please get rid of them (awful thoughts)". Hallelujah, how beautiful.
the idea of surrenderring to anything makes my skin crawl.
Our beautiful AYAAN! Thank you for attending unto our OWN and thy sincere conversations = sincere answers will be given.
A remarkable Lady. A sister in the Lord.
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” ❤
I remember reading 10 years ago Infidel by Ayan Hirsi Ali, and ever since I have been amazed at her courage, depth of thought, and the struggles she has endured since leaving Islam. I admired her when she was a New Atheist explaining to us in the West the problems with Islam as one who was formerly a Muslim. She has recently embraced the Way and the Word of God. That too is amazing and a boost of faith to fellow Xns.
Excellent discussion full of heartfelt insights by both Glen and Ayaan. Thank you.
Bless her heart. I have followed her life since she left Islam. I have prayed for G-d to speak to her heart. What a great blessing for His Kingdom.
I confess I am, perhaps one of several Christians, who prayed for Ayan. Several years ago when listening to her I sensed a profound sadness in her. I prayed for her salvation and, she would experience the joy of Jesus. I have been urged to pray for her a couple of times since then. I am jubilant at hearing and seeing the change in her. Thank you Glen, please continue to Speak Life!
This lady is getting deep in her new belief really fast
Judeo Christian is an oxymoron
Bet she has a book out or coming. I am so disappointed 8n her
Incredible statement, “it’s a surrender to love.”
Do you have to be christian to love?
@@dejenyalawessonno. But you have to be a Christian (surrender to God) to experience the fullness of His love in Christ, which is what this commenter and Ayaan were referencing. If you reject Christ you reject God’s ultimate love offering, ie you are not surrendered to His love.
@loganwillett2835 you know, you are totally ignoring more than half the world population who are as loving as you are, perhaps more loving but not buying into your faithfully christian ideology. Think about it.
@loganwillett2835 Anyway, why would you want to surrender to an idea that has no backing of a single evidence?
@@dejenyalawesson I never said there weren’t non Christian’s more loving than me. I don’t say this to be rude, but you’re genuinely missing the point. The idea is not about being loving, it’s about surrendering to someone else’s love. There’s a big difference. Although I do think if we surrender to God’s love we become more loving than we used to be
Ayaan is a living courage to truth and genuine life. She spent all her life reading her own deep self.
Amazing! Well done Speak Life for a great interview
The advantage of atheism is that it is just a negative- in a debate it is much easier to attack another position but much harder to defend or offer a better alternative. If you have ever talked to a negative person, nothing you do can make them happy or grateful
The distinguishing factor of atheism is a lack of reason. It takes no reasoning to lack belief. A rock can lack belief and reason. Yet atheists make a conclusion that a god does not exist.
There are atheists that have reasons, but the ones that claim they don't need a reason didn't reason themselves into atheism.
And I think you'll find that most such people are atheists
Having read Heretic and Nomad some years ago, it is fascinating and encouraging to see Ayaan's spiritual journey come to this point. Quite a story.
Excited for this!
You get a mention, Paul!
This is such a beautiful discussion. May you both be blessed by the Almighty God. Greetings from Tanzania 🇹🇿

Some incredible minds joining the kingdom. This is a great time to be alive. Getting to listen to these conversations is such a privilege.
This is profoundly moving. God bless you Ayaan.
I cannot speak highly enough of this woman and her courage. May God bless her and her family.
I find her very attractive.
Hallelujah, what a heartfelt and erudite presentation of the need yo share Jesus's love with our neighbours. By God's grace we have work to do.
Ayaan is an authentic real human! Kudos to her and God bless .
An amazing testimony!
Deep and heartfelt conversation. Who was that brave therapist that opened the door? God bless them.

Covers a range of topics. Excellent dialogue/interview!
God is using Ayaan in the atheist world, and the world at large, may God protect and increase her in the knowledge of Christ, thanks to Glen, great conversation 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Amazing discussion. I ask God to continue to guide Ayaan and protect her. She was born for a time like this! Please pray for Ayaan and all who struggle with anxiety. Jesus is the answer! God bless you all. 🙏🙌
Wow. Total scoop!
I like that Mr Glenn was by some of his questions testing to see if Ayaan believed some the orthodox doctrines of christianity 😀😊 brilliant😮

It’s good to hear Ayaan. God Bless you and keep you safe. I guess Dawkins must be feeling ‘Left Behind’ on his way to ‘Enlightenment’. I do hope he will catch up with you, Ayaan. Just be patient with him as he needs to make up his own mind and use his FreeWill that God has given him.

Another heart transformed by the love of God.
I loved Aayan as a fellow african migrant in Netherlands and now she is my sister in Christ. How cool is that. Loved her intelligence and tenacity and her ability to master the ‘darned’ hard dutch language in record time and even do higher academic pursuit. I barely passed my automobile theory… but now she is running with the bible too’
I too came from a tribal world… born in exile in Uganda as. Tutsi kid only to flee to kenya, tanzania and then UK.
I too was blown away by western formula and before that the Tanzanian formula by Nyerere. But the West was flabbergasting as i entered UK in 1985 at the height of ‘free Nelson Mandela’!! I was so impressed these people cared ….. in time i saw all eroding into selfhate where iam a big fan of Pim Fortuin and later Thierry Baudet above our Aayaan…

Ayaan is a hero because she is so exceptionally brave intelligent and wise. Her way of describing the problems that western society is facing .It is truly wonderful thatl she has chosen to follow Yeshua Messiah :the only Way to the Kingdom of Heaven He is the living Word of God the Truth and the Life. May the Eternal One God keep her safe and bless her life abundantly

She seems like a very lovely woman.
Is that now she’s converted? Typical christian hypocrite.
I love Ayaan Hirsi Ali. Such a brilliant and beautiful soul. Thank you for this wonderful interview!
You love her because she is now christian? Love your Kinship. I see that. Typical.
Very nice that you were able to interview her.
Recently heard a series about Jesus' 'Sermon on the Mount', so Ayaan's phrase "spiritual bankruptcy" caught my attention.
It was Jesus who said, "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs in the kingdom of heaven."
This is an amazing connection.
Great interview Glen, great woman
Great intro, great production values, great interview, even greater Gospel and God!
Fantastic discussion. Thank you!
What a wonderful discussion. Thank you so much.
One remark on what Ayaan said at 42:40 - I think Ayaan is mistaken in saying that no religion can compare with Islam that was founded on a Supreme Leader as in Iran.
Roman Catholicism is in fact also founded on a Supreme Leader also referred to as Pontifex Maximus who is commonly called the Pope. He has supreme authority and power in that religious system.
Thank you for the interview! Love Ayaan and this channel ❤
I love this video.
God bless all
Beautiful interview. God bless her.
Hi Glen, having heard the interview through I am so struck by it and see it as a valuable resource in our understanding of where we are as Christians in the west at the moment. The great value of the interview was not only your wonderful questions and the insights that they drew but Ayaan’s powerful testimony which comes from someone who understands atheists and where they are coming from and therefore offers valuable insights about them. I also very much appreciate her eirenic approach to atheism which is built on friendship and the importance of listening to them and trying to understand not just debate with them. It is getting behind their arguments to see the true source. This is a wonderful help for the church and I am so grateful for it. May God bless the work you and others are doing in this. Mark
“When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation.”

A Christian friend of mine asked me to watch this interview, and it's been a while since the last time I listened to so much incoherent drivel.

I'm not sure that we need simply to seed Christianity in other parts of the world. In his and his wife Carol's work, and in _Peace Child_, _Eternity in Their Hearts_, and other writings, the late pioneer missionary Don Richardson discovered "redemptive analogies" around the world that seemed to point the way to the coming of Christ.
Yes. Redemptive analogy!
I’d say: dear lady, that shouldn’t be your concern at all. («Blessed are those who have not any “wonderful, magnificent dreams” & yet …. ……… » )
In the context of Ayaan calling atheism negative, here's an interesting conversation with Gandhi, an apostle of nonviolence and the leader of Indian freedom movement:
Gandhiji: How do you differentiate between godlessness and atheism?
I: Godlessness is negative. It merely denies the existence of god. Atheism is
positive. It asserts the condition that results from the denial of god.
G: You say that atheism is positive?
I: Yes. In positive terms atheism means self-confidence and free will. Atheism is
not negative in meaning though it is negative in form. Look at the words: non-
co-operation, non-violence, ahimsa. They have positive connotations, though
they are negative in form. To express an idea that is unfamiliar, we often use
the negative of a negative. For instance 'fearlessness' for 'courage'.
G: You are talking of words.
I: Atheism bears a positive significance in the practice of life. Belief in god
implies subordination of man to the divine will. In Hindu thought man's life is
subordinated to karma or fate. In general, theism is the manifestation of the
feeling of slavishness in man. Conversely, atheism is the manifestation of the
feeling of freedom in man. Thus theism and atheism are opposite and they
represent the opposite feelings, namely, dependence and independence respectively.
(An atheist with Gandhi)
When you enter the Christian world, you will face another problem if you are intellectually engaged in doctrinal stuff. Which denomination is the right one to follow? Read Rome Sweet Home by Scott Hahn.
Going back to the roots - read Ignatius of Antioch - and join the Catholic church. There was no Bible as we know it for 3 / 400 years - until the Catholic church put together the canon.
Indeed , “So large Tree” , so large that Unfortunately even some Devil Birds land their small private jet on some of Its branches!
Every scientist believes that every event has cause. The atheist scientists believe that the emergence of this universe is the only event that has no cause. A miracle is an event that totally different with all other similar events.
Had this universe popped out without cause, then it would be the greatest miracles that have ever happened.
This miracles can only believed by those who don't believe in miracles.
Please don't say every scientist. It makes sound worse than you are.
@@dejenyalawesson
Mention one scientist who believes that there are events having no cause other than the emergence of this universe.
@BertoKinawa your problem is going to be around "who caused the cause." If you say the God, the question continues.
@@dejenyalawesson
Every event has causes that's why everyone always why? Newton asked why Apple fell? Without trying to find the answers why an event happened science would never develop. Believing the event of the emergence of this universe without any cause is the biggest miracle and can only be believed by those who don't believe in miracles.
Ecclesia semper reformanda est! Augustin of Hyppo
In my opinion, atheism is a lack of knowledge and experience of the unknown power and connection interfering with the higher power, and not searching for what the power, ability, and capability of the brain and spirit can reach in the reality of the unknown that we call God. He is the shelter and security for a human being
But not every religion believes that it’s a good religion only . Christianity is not a religion is the way of life.
Anyone who is so desperate to hang on to one God or another is still a child inside.
Or desperate for money. After a couple of books, trust me, she will go back to Islam.
Isn't that the innocent part of you?
@@tryme3969
Some of us grew out of it
@@dejenyalawesson Then now you're guilty.
@tryme3969
guilty of what? Knowing the difference between fantasy and reality? Choosing evidence based over faith-based? If that's your argument, I gladly accept it.
What's wrong with Christianity being a bastion against something worse?
They say " Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom".
I think that Ayan was saved by the humility brought on by a truer reckoning of the lack of God in her life, as she lost her faith in Islam, even though, that loss was replaced by the freedom and liberalism of the west, even of the new atheist movement and its heady freethinking factions.
The thing is I don't think a woman as wise as Ayan, was looking to become a convert to a cause to believe in, for the sake of ruling out God, although it seems that is what the new atheism is about.
There is something beyond believing you can access the knowledge of gaining all the answers in the world or what to do with them, especially if realizing that you have to know what not to do with them, if not as much or moreso.
Otherwise, one can very quickly create a fiction out of what may appear to be facts or 'truth,' and then be dwelling on increasingly shaky ground because you will mistake one for the other, and not know you have lost your way.
That is a terrible thing in comparison to appreciating being saved from a possible fate worse than death, at least far worse than the death of some of your own hubris.
Christianity can provide a way of discernment.
I am very happy for her and glad that she shared some of her journey, so far, with us.
She makes it clear her belief is founded in the comfort it provides. Because she finds facing the real world too difficult to handle she willingly abandons rational thinking and intellectual integrity for a feeling. Yet another stark and unambiguous example that religion is the triumph of psychology over reason.
Amen. You nailed it.
Dream is good, but reality is better. She is going back to fantasy.
@@dejenyalawesson Islam would have (as would have Christianity) given her deep psychological comfort especially if indoctrinated from childhood. Parents are the core source of comfort and security for their children and theistic belief extends that for adults with a substitute super-parent. It gives adults the same childhood feeling of comfort and security as their real parents did when growing up. So you wind up going through life remaining in a state of psychological childhood believing in a super-parent who knows all about you and will reward you for doing good and punish you for doing bad. Just like when you were a child.
The fact the super-parent is undetectable in the real world doesn’t matter because there are these books from the distant past detailing what the super-parent dictates to be good and bad. This is especially helpful since direct communication with the super-parent is only possible through imagination. Or a feeling.
Some however do manage to outgrow the psychological dependency induced by childhood indoctrinated theism. Atheism is an inevitable result from honestly engaging with the real world. However atheism has a major shortcoming - no psychological comfort and security of a super-parent. Atheism requires giving up that deeply embedded comfort and security parents provided during childhood. So it is not surprising some after initially having mustered the courage and honesty to abandon religious belief find it unbearably discomforting to deal with the real world on their own without the comforting support of that previously ever present super-parent.
So they revert back to a comforting state of psychological childhood by either embracing the once-discarded theistic belief or by migrating to an alternative competing theistic belief. I guess the latter is easier to rationalize because then you don’t have the embarrassment of having to retract all the reasons you rejected the original theistic belief in the first place. Only thing then required is concocting some excuses for reverting back to theism so you can justify it to yourself.
I find it rather sad that a person can use the clear lens of rational thinking to exposes the lack of credibility of theism and free themselves from its suffocating shackles but subsequently abandon that very same rational thinking to embrace a belief previously accepted as discredited. It shows the effect of childhood indoctrination can be deeply embedded making it so very difficult to overcome that many can never find or cannot maintain the willingness to try.
We always want more than we have and want things to different than they are. It’s one thing having a dream about such matters but quite another mistaking a dream for the real world. As I said before, religion is the triumph of psychology over reason.
15:23 she keeps saying this but i am obviously skeptical. i have no idea what she really means by that statement, and i am unsure whether she does either. it is a very strange claim to make and even christians dont make this statement about themselves generally
I suspect she means she was living in outward conformity to the Christian code of conduct. For example, not sleeping around, generally honest, not cheating, showing compassion to the less fortunate, etc.

"3 religions: Christianity, Islam and New Atheism".
At least you state your bias early on in the interview /_-
Has atheism lost its innocence?
Hmmm. Older generation did a disservice to younger generation. Very true but how?
The influence of Christianity, atheism, Islam are so shallow and may have cause the current generation confusion and descending behavior. The only religion that is deep and rooted to its core, and has a very stable foundation from rejected cornerstone is Catholicism. Catholicism is the answer.
The answer to the problem from your discussion is right under your nose. 😇
I guess this is what dear Ayaan means to say ; The main difference between two religions is this; one of them teaches its followers : «You shall know the truth & truth shall set you free.» the other religion teaches its followers ; they shall know the truth & it shall set them free. (Of course after inserting some cut & editing in the clip & if it would be possible, even in real world)! // Ops! Seems one side of the debate “dropped his mic & yet his Orange tie is still there” , like a Pink elephant in the room! 😀…,
She needed more? But her reasons for converting to Christianity don't sound very spiritual
