60 yrs later I still have nightmares about the Dauphine Dad bought new in 62. Caught fire right in front of the house
I owned 2 VW beetles when I was stationed in Germany. This proves that I am a slow learner. The bugs were loud, uncomfortable, and dangerous. On one occasion the car spun out on slick pavement getting on the autobahn. I ended up facing autobahn traffic coming at me 100mph. Scared me half to death.
Talks about Fiat 600s, but only shows one example. The others are 500s and early topolinos.
The Rambler American was also offered as a convertible and a V8 engine was also available. The Simca also had a 1204 model, fwd in the late 60's, 2 Dr coupe, station wagon and 4dr sedan. The Hilman Minx was sold in the US, 4 Dr sedan with 4 cylinder engines, rwd, various manual transmissions, 4 Dr sedan, 2 Dr coupe and a station wagon version; the Husky. Sunbeam had the Arrow sedan, rwd, 4 cylinder, 4 speed manual, automatic. Sunbeam Alpine 2dr. roadster, 4 cylinder, rwd, 4 speed manual and auto trans. (the Tiger, powered by a Ford V8 was also on offer).

Passed by 36 horsepower"
There’s a difference between cheaply made and being inexpensive. American auto makers made cheaply made and they lost market share because of it.
I had a great dad that would buy me the car as long as i paid insurance and everything else. It allowed me to buy and sell these having fun in the meantime with most of them. FIVE: Ford Pinto wagon. SIX: Corvair Convert.. SEVEN: Triumph TR 3 EIGHT: Corolla SR5 (first new car
off the truck) Everyone had a Beetle so I avoided them.
