Hey Guys, sorry for the delay in getting a new video uploaded. With FourWheeler in full swing it is hard to find the time I need to get these videos out, but I now think I have the time to get into a groove over the next few months.
IAN!!!! Dude, you have no idea how happy I am to have found your youtube channel! I grew up watching you and Jesse on Powerblock every Saturday morning. You two were a huge inspiration for me. I really hope you are doing well and look forward to watching your videos.
I have been watching you for a long time, over 15 years easy, and your skill and willingness to teach others a cheaper alternative is what makes you awesome in my opinion!
Yeah sorry for the delay, been a busy winter and honestly struggling with how to treat this particular channel because I now have so many video channels
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! A MUST-HAVE FOR ANY WORKSHOP!!!! GREAT VIDEO AND EDUCATION. THANKS FOR SHARING!!! I LOVE IT!!!! SOMETHING TO CONSIDER THIS HOLIDAY SEASON!!!
I used different plans to make my own bender years back. But it was a very gratifying experience. this one looks alot more simple and easier to build. Good video tho!
just ordered one of these. can't wait for it to show up and begin my bending. thanks for the video. should help me out a lot with assembly. my only complaint would be having to adjust the volume back and forth. turning you up when you talk and the music down. not a big deal, but figured I'd share incase others felt the same way. thanks for the awesome vid.
I can't believe I just now found your channel... I don't know what rock I've been under to have missed this for so long! BTW, that show you were on... sucked out loud without you. I stopped watching it when you were no longer a part of it.
Bought this 6 years ago added the HD kit to it since I do bend .250 wall sometimes. It came and I didn't even bring it into to garage I opened it up laid it out on the tailgate rolled the welded out close enough for the leads to reach tacked it up gave it a quick check with a square and welded it up . It took less than 30 minutes from start to finish. The bender is keyed to fit together so it pretty much puts itself together. They designed it to use the harborgreight air over hydro ram which is very cheaply priced and has worked for me for 6 years . All the tube on my internal and exo were bent with this in a driveway as was the full hydro mount.
I'm totally off topic here but I have to tell you that I saw you on a few episodes of Bleeping Jeep and wondered "Who is this Ian guy"? Then, just by chance I was browsing through my streaming TV service and came across your show. I'm currently limited to a chair for the better part of the day to recover from having a new knee installed. I have binged watched your program for many days now. Thank God. This recovery would be very boring. Now that I've found your RUclips channel I can be assured of many more learning experiences in the future. By the way, you did a great job on that TV series. You can talk and weld a the same time and that's not an easy task. :)
Great video man. I don’t know if I’m partial just because I’ve been learning from you for years but there’s something about your way of explaining things that just makes sense and seems easy. Keep on keeping on bro!!! 🤘😎
I am in the process of finishing my Rogue Fab bender right now. Bought it to bend a cage and stuff for my M715 Project which i am taking lots of tips from project Lockjaw. Cant decide if i want to bob the bed or not. (probably will, looks awesome)
@@BigTireGarage I haven't had cable for 6 years but I do have RUclips and that new Motortrend app. Truly an awesome program and watching any of your channels your explanation of what you are doing is spot on.
Rogue fab bender might work really well and do a good job but it just seems to be a lot of work to get a new die in and each tube setup. Maybe it's just a personal preference is the JD squared style bender. Good advice on the assembly and welding of the bender. Best of luck and keep up the good work.
I had a JD squared model 4, built like a brick ...house. I didn't use it much, so I traded it to someone. I've been wanting a bender for a while, this looks interesting. I've pondered making my own JD2/Hossfeld bender since I've got a plasma table and machine tools.
@@BigTireGarage Yeah, seems like of like the razor and blade model, except the razor and the blades aren't cheap! I was thinking of making stacked laminations from sheet steel, with a skeleton to support the laminations. I've seen continuous laminations on roll benders, but not a skeletonized lamination.
It is actually not cheaper...this kit come with one 180 degree die of your choice. The JD is manual, and you have to then buy a die which makes it almost the same price.
I had the jd2 its a good bender I agree, people always seem to forget to include dies when pricing a bender..I like verticle plane benders, I find it easier to make flat hoops when working alone
Sick build!! What kind of gloves are one wearing in this video the seem nice. Heavy duty enough to mig weld with yet they have enough dexterity for you to put the bolts in the tube clamp
@Ian I am looking at bender options but buying multiple dies is a huge upfront cost - if you were to recommend on size what would it be - I am think 1.75" DOM for roll cages but what radius?
Have been a Big fan ever since you started on Xtreme 4 by 4, and I have some Questions, Which is better 3 link or 4 Link in the front, building a 98 XJ have a set of Dana 60's out of a 78 Ford highboy to install under it. Looking for a good set of coil overs,
Awesome videos so far, can't wait for more. Could you comment on what welding table you were using in this video? Is it also a pre-cut you-weld design like the Rogue bender?
these are twice as much as the JD2 benders that are a full assembly not a DIY kit.. i dont think anyone buying a tubing bender is going to mind a bit of welding in the assembling process but i mean what are the advantages of this bender for the extra money and the chance you could mess up the welds while assembling
@@BigTireGarage the dies are pretty similarly priced between each bender? 400$ for the jd2 and 200-350 per die this is 875$ for the machine with one die
I just found your new channel. It looks good, but you need to turn the music down a bit. I am having to play with my volume button too much. Maybe a lapel mike would help.
Not really I have this channel and then I have my stuff on Amazon Prime, and then my production company handles the distribution on 4 other shows on Amazon. Then I have FourWheeler on Motortrend, so it is a busy schedule to say the least
Good video :) , but personally tubing benders are seriously over priced for what they are and considering you spend the same on a die as the whole tool... if only i was in the US sure i could pick one up cheap
Wow! $725 for a kit you have to weld together? Should have used your tools and fab skill to make your own bender for less money. Love that you are putting out content though. Keep it up.
Even if you spent the time to cut out all the plate needed to make your own bender frame. The money would be in the actual bending die. Trust me I have priced this many different ways and this is one of the best options for the money.
Tried to watch this video but the music got to be too much, why does everyone think they have to add “action” music to a video, if you insist on background music, turn it down about 5 notches and leave it in the background.
You could design your own bender, but to be honest by the time you had the dies machined and all the plates laser cut or plasma cut you would have more into it than the 700 bucks this kit cost
Well, to compare apples to apples..the Woodward fab bender is 350, plus 120 for the stand, plus 350 for a die...and the Rogue is 715 with a die, and isn't a manual bender its a better deal by far
@@BigTireGarage Maybe in the shop But not online as there is many people with hard of hearing and a lot of music is offensive to many especially older folks Besides it is not polite to indulge in music when talking is on
