    This was very informative. I have been searching the internet to confirm the correct method of using the downard, middle and upper blocks. This is how i have been teaching my students is to grapple. Thank you so much for your videos they have been very helpful.

    Do you teach Kiokushin and BJJ separately like most MMA gyms boxing, freestyle wrestling, BJJ, and Muy-Thai as separate disciples?

      I teach Kyokushin exclusively when asked, I teach BJJ at my BJJ school, and I incorporate elements of BJJ and wrestling in the curriculum o f my own Kyokushin dojo.

    Is hiki uke a better option for the same demonstrated applications than uchi uke?

    • @BudoTraining
      @BudoTraining  11 месяцев назад +1

      Good question. I think they go together well. The uchi uke flows straight into hiki uke, but the hiki uke can miss under pressure and speed without it.

    Another Shoto uke - It's good to avoid arm drag.

      Interesting. Why do you say that?

    • @Pifagorass

      Just put your arm between your neck and shoulders and recover your angle and the block is a simultaneous attack (karate chop) and body angle recovery (freestyle wrestling concept). It's like BJJ cross lapel grip but much more aggressive.
      Free style wrestling and BJJ doesn't provide any more effective way to defend the arm drag due to the limitations of the individual sports 😅

      Overdrag is available in BJJ/wrestling, but receiving hit into an unprotected neck (both hands are busy) with strong hold in the opposite direction is massive 😜💪
      Karate one was a complete combat discipline and every move in Kata has made a long time ago. JJJ is still available but not very popular.
