i used to have a keyboard that was luck whether it tapped left or right for 1 frame or 2 frames, and because i couldnt rely on just tapping to get as close as possible to a spike (or edge in this case) i used to do this strat where i tried to tap 1 frame right but also jump up, so that if i did a 2 frame tap i could notice and recover in time, its more applicable when there isnt a ceiling above my head
