Like you, Still Climbing caught me completely off guard. After listening to it I have to say I love it! I own it on cd and vinyl. Wish they would have continued on but I do like that live album they released from the Key Club.

"Through the Rain" is my favorite power ballad and has been for over 20yrs. Live at the Key club is great!

Great ranking ,I slightly disagree on Cinderella just play acting the blues I know allot of bands did blues records to seem more “legit” by critics. But I always felt Tom was always a bluesman

One of my favorite bands. I was a huge fan of the first three and then I joined the Navy out of high school in 92' and in 94 I went on deployment. Came back through Pearl Harbor on our way back to San Diego. I went to a local mall in Waikiki and saw a music store, I'd been out of the loop for 6 months so I wanted to see what was out recently and right there on an end cap of a shelf of hard rock/metal was Still Climbing CD. Of course I bought it. Put it in my discman and was blown away by how good it really was. It's sad most people never heard of it much less heard any songs from it other than the one from Wayne's World. My ranking song for song: Long Cold Winter, Still Climbing, Night Songs, Hearbreak..

Hey, Ryan, thanks for sharing. And thanks for serving, Brother. I'm right with you on Still Climbing--it disappeared without a trace--deserved so much better.

But Tom really LIKES blues music. ;) THANK YOU for saying Still Climbing is fantastic rock album! It doesn't get the respect it deserves. Night Songs is obviously the best album though. Cinderella is one of my favorite bands so thank you for this wonderful video. ❤

@HairMetalGuru419 I'm so glad I found your channel. I've watched a couple of videos already, and I feel like I'm sitting in the room with you going over these albums. Over 90% of my daily music listening pleasure is 80s glam rock!

Bands like this doing the blues? They're a Bluesy Hard Rock band. It is obvious that blues, and blues based bands like Aerosmith & the Stones, are huge influences on Tom Keifer, so blues & rootsy music is part of his dna.

Good stuff! I agree … I don’t get it either, why glam bands of the late 80s and early 90s had to flex their blues muscle. I’m right there with ya! Gypsy Road is like a top 5 glam metal rocker for me, awesome song.

Ranked exactly the way I would of. I love them all but like you I was shocked with Heart Break Station the first time I listened to it. It grew on my as I got older but it still lags behind the others

i remember in high school (my sophomore year of 1995), still climbing was released. i had a friend who worked at a local college radio station. mercury records sent out a "mystery sampler" that included three songs from still climbing, with the artist name listed as "mystery artist to be revealed later".
years later i asked tom kiefer about it at a poison concert where i got to meet him. he said it should go down as one of the worst promo job's ever.

For me Cinderella is probably the only band where I don’t skip one song on any album. Not one filler song.
    Long cold winter
    Night songs
    Heart break station
    Still climbing

Yeah still climbing is better than heartbreak station!

Cool that you’re from ND! I am also. Me and my friend are starting a podcast in the same vein as yours! The 80’s rock is far and away the best. Hope you come check us out. We will be recording a few episodes this week sometime. Rock on!

Hahaha Long Cold Winter and If You Don't Like It Are my two favorite songs from the Long Cold Winter Album
Nobody's Fool has my heart for my all-time favorite song from all four albums ❤❤❤
    My Ranking is
1 Still Climbing, hahaha probably because I just recently discovered it exsisted like 2023 discovery good one Mercury!!!! Being sarcastic 🙄
    2 Long Cold Winter
3 Heartbreak Station- which Tom just recently said the title track was written with Savanah in mind weird because he was still with Emily at the time😏, but who knows what was going on there 🤔
    4 Nightsongs
    I know I know 😅
I will say though I really don't care which one I listen to I love them all
Just bought the Mercury years box set and I'm super envious your nightsongs and still climbing albums are signed by the band good for you though 😊

But the real question is, where would you slide the albums Rise and The Way Life Goes by Tom Keifer into this ranking?

    • @davidgotteri
      @davidgotteri 2 месяца назад

For me, Rise would be at the bottom of the list, and The Way Life Goes probably on a par with Heartbreak Station.
      Where would you add them?

  • @otisdriftwood8469

Cinderella is definitely one of my favorites. They were heavy, especially live. Night songs is definitely my favorite. But they are all great. And Tom still sounds the same today. I believe Michael Kelly Smith still owns the Cinderella name. Probably why Tom dosen't use it. My order would be the order the records came out in. To much blues in the later records for my taste.

Shout out to Jeff Labar. Much missed guitarist. I know that Dave ‘snake’ Sabo auditioned but didn’t get the gig. Thank god because we would not have had 2 great bands.
