I’m curious why you transitioned using galvanized steel pipe fittings versus using black iron pipe. I’m not a plumber but I was always taught that you only use black iron pipe for gas, galvanized pipe was for old water supply lines.

For gas pipe you can use either black or galvanized. Galvanized is a better pipe and last longer. For water you cannot use black pipe.

how about mechanic protection when drill used? CSST can't supply mechanic protection.
