    its always interesting to hear the hidden mechanics of how this works, considering how much optimization there is to do in this event, and its cool to see how it all came together, i would love to see more of these analysis things in the future

    using that snatcher on wave 4 with the eggs is genius! I saw marty's video on this shift and was very confused as to what he was doing but holy shit that's so clever. incredible job on the shift, and massive congratulations for third place! you and your team absolutely deserve it, and what better a score than 333! well done to you all

    I hope that with this breakdown, it can be used to help with future Salmon Run players who wanna learn to improve. Congrats again on top 3, insane effort and time takes to get to there, my squad barely got to 207. Great work!

    It's crazy how close the top 3 teams were. If the second place team hadn't missed one egg in wave 3, they would have tied for first place and won with the tiebreaker. They didn't have a perfect wave 2 like Brian's team, but they had an insane wave 5 to make up for it. And if Brian's team had gotten a couple more eggs in wave 4, that could have been enough for top 1 or 2.

    Thank you so much Brian for making this video! Not only was it educational, but it was also very entertaining! Those poor, poor drizzlers never stood a chance.
    There were so many things in there optimization wise I would have never thought of, so I thank you for giving me ideas to play with in the future.
    I’m always in such awe of high level gameplay, and it’s great you give some perspective from this amazing eggstrawork shift!

    That last Maux with Booya to get the aggro on the other teammates in basket made my jaw Fall off... That strat... Everything is so perfect!
    I knew every basic thing and I also could Saw the strat with snatcher without this explanation.
    The only thing I didn't understand is why lessers start spawning the other side at the end of Wave 3.
    But in general, this video is amazing. You make content like no other RUclipsr does. You really care and try to explain us everything... Just thank you! I love your videos and I am so Happy all I learnt because you until now ❤️

      Seriously thank you so much! These comments really mean a lot to me, so I really appreciate you for sharing it all ^^
      The lessers on Wave 3 are due to the spawn rotations. Since the start of the wave enemies spawn on a specific location on the map, and this location changes after a set time (every 12 seconds in the case of 180% hazard level). However, even when bosses no longer spawn the remaining enemies, being lessers, still follow this 12 second rotation. So after spawning from the left for a while the lessers still follow this rule and eventually spawn from somewhere else instead.

    Man this is a great video! Thank you for the gameplay analysis! I noticed that you guys stay very well ahead of spawns with very strategic positioning, my team struggled to do that and we had very minor snowball effects, which weren’t overwhelming, but were enough to reduce optimizations for us… where as you guys really kept the map very clean and maintained orderly positioning, very good stuff. Same thing with goldy seeking, really impressive strategies I can learn from! Overall, I really would look forward to seeing more videos like this. I did bring up an idea in the past, (hopefully I’m not bugging too much with it, I was going to wait to ask about it later, but was too eager to see your response on the idea) I wondered weather or not you could do HLM tutorials on some scenario codes, then have the code available for others to practice what you guys show in tutorial. It might not be popular among many? But hopefully you could lmk your stance on this idea.
    Also, since some codes might get outdated, that could be an issue, but so far I have several month old scenario codes still working (dating back to December 9th) so it should allow a fair time frame for any possible tutorials to be available for practice.

      Thank you, I'm glad you liked it!
      At the moment I would like to prioritize pushing the limit of SR, mostly being available rotations and events like Eggstra Work. So I'm afraid scenario tutorials isn't something I plan on doing for now.

    edit: can i ask if this was just the result of playing over and over or if you reviewed what you recorded and committed all the details to memory?

    • @BrianTheDrummer
      @BrianTheDrummer  Год назад +3

      Thank you so much! And good question!
      It was basically a back and forth between solidifying our strategies through playing and analyzing them to see how we might change things.
      Especially at the start we played a lot to get a general sense of the shift and remember it properly, as well as testing our first strategies on how we think things can be done optimally. We definitely had moments while playing where we think "hey maybe doing this could be better", but also did lots of changes outside of the game. Especially during "breaks" we would often discuss our strategies, and at times review recorded games that went better than others to see if there's anything we could learn from it. We experimented with the finer details until pretty much the end, and some waves definitely saw more structural changes than others.

    Also at the very end, when does the big shot cannon become that accurate? Is it when you put the eggs in there last second or do you have to aim them?

    • @BrianTheDrummer
      @BrianTheDrummer  Год назад

      The Big Shot cannon RNG is a predetermined list tied to the seed and weapon. So it doesn't matter when you put it in, only which egg it is. For example my first 4 eggs would miss and then one that hit, and by checking for each player how many eggs it takes for one to eventually go in we could coordinate them.

    Is the big shot cannon egg shoot rng or can you consistently get it on the last frame in general?

    • @BrianTheDrummer
      @BrianTheDrummer  Год назад +3

      The seed determines a set list of RNG per player (tied to the weapon) which is not timing related. So for example my 5th egg throw would always go in. For Leia it was the 15th I believe, unlucky

    how do you kill grillers so fast? i've never seen them die that quickly

    • @BrianTheDrummer
      @BrianTheDrummer  Год назад +6

      It's really just a combination of execution and the bomb usage for extra damage. A team where everyone is even just a fraction of a second slower on getting shots on the grillers or misses shots quickly builds up for a slower damage output
