My father retired as a raven, worked at Andrew’s Air Force base. He’s passed away but always told me the ravens and para rescuemen were the behind the scenes guys
I appreciate the heads up. I was looking to do Air Guard in NC, and the Raven program was the thing that caught my attention, and made me say: “that what I wanna do”. When I speak with Recruiters, to me, they drag their feet or don’t know what I’m talking about. Hell, I haven’t heard back from one of them for 2 weeks. What do I need to do get my foot in the door?
You need to focus on just getting into the Air Force first and getting your badge and beret. There’s a Raven section in Charlotte if you really want to go that route.
Like pappy said mane yo gotta do SF first. Check in with ur unit once your done with tech then proceed accordingly do ur job get ur 5LVL then from there you might want sum dif in life but you gotta be SF FIRST!!!
To help. Be in shape, be at a base that has Raven. Try out. I want to be one but my base don’t got it. Also what are some tips for getting in shape for Raven
Maybe a dumb question, but looking long term, i am interested in GRs or private military contractor post military. would phoenix raven be good exoperience for that?
Being a Raven is the best assignment in the Security Forces career field. It's crazy that they are in the 3k's now. I went through school in 2004. When I was in you had to be invited by a team member to try out. Pre-Raven is no joke. I hope you like flutter kicks. You spend more time with your team than you do with your family. Your Raven section becomes your family. I still talk to my boys daily and I've been out since 2007. Raven #1231
I gotchu since I was at a nuke base. Any global strike base has TRF HOWEVER some global strike bases like Minot and Malmstrom have MULTIPLE security forces squadrons with different missions. So if you end up in the squadron that doesn’t belong to TRF it’ll be a bitch to get a tryout however if you do end up on the squadron that has it just tell your flight leadership
@@Fyiaa95 dawg in the Air Force it’s easy as hell lmao if you put a nuke base on your dream sheet you’ll get it because nobody wants to go to one. I didn’t have Minot on my dream sheet at all and got it
@ I just got lucky enough to go to a Raven hub but there are many ways to get to bases that offer Raven. Andrews AFB for example is always needing more people.

@@PappyG Do you happen to know which specialized unit is the most numerous? Which has the most members?
Should I put the raven bases on my dream sheet? Would my supervisor be able to see it, and tell I wanna be a raven
Thank you so much for this video. I don't wanna let go of my education so is being a full time student while chasing the raven path possible?
Wouldn’t recommend
