I hope Mr.Talukder realizes that he has performed this dance beyond the level of the other dancers who also do this dance. His movements are so graceful, his facial expressions are wonderful as he moves. His hand gestures are so well placed. I don't think he can be outdone . He truly has his craft of dance down to perfection.

Вспоминаю все время теперь, что Шива это Натарадж, Вишну это Мохини, Ганеш танцует восхитительно и все они мужчины... А Матушка берет оружие и красиво им владеет. Вот и думаю об этом теперь. I couldn't watch because the camera work was so bad. it jumped all over the place. when watching dance, you want to see the dancer's whole body uninterrupted by stops and starts of the camera.

@@tageulefeinberg2539 I enjoyed the dance immensely.... but for me also the camera work was too devoted to clever camera work, not being in service to connecting our eyes to the pure dance.

Inspired by the energy embodied in this incredible video, I asked my Sanskrit teacher if we could study the Shiva Tandava Stotram together. This week I worked on the first verse and would like to humbly offer my translation here as a heart-felt thank you for manifesting the wild energy of Shiva and His tandava dance in this video.
Swirling through the forest-like matted locks of His hair,
The purifying turbulence of water splashing onto His dancing ground,
His neck adorned with a serpent garland,
His damaru, struck again and again, resounding tumultuously:
Lord Śiva danced His fierce and impetuous tandava!
May we be blessed by this manifestation of Śiva, the Auspicious One.
Happy and proud of you brother, keep it up. The whole stotra is in Nāgapramānikā meter, where laghu n guru words come alternatively making it sound so awesome. If you learn the full meaning you can't forget it ever in your life, such a gemstone it is.

My daughter and I (40now) have justed started to learn the Bharatnatyam dance form. I know Kathak. Now it's Bharatnatyam. I see the passion for the dance in your eyes. You simply make viewers sway their bodies with you... I just love this video...
I know very little about the dance, but I was mesmerized. I have played this at least fifty to a hundred times, trying to intuit the gestures, the glances, footwork. In the dance, I felt as if the worshipper and the worshipped were temporarily One. I love all of this, from the first notes to the end. I would like to learn more, and to see more of your dancing if I may.

I've watched other dancers perform this dance, and yes mostly they are dancing at a faster pace.. but this artist has more physical control because he hold the difference stances for a longer time. You get to see how the movement is being made with such control. I still think Supratim does this dance the best.

I have watched this performance hundreds of times and always silently or with a slow meditation music. I have been captivated by the hand mudras which are telling me a story but I have been unable to find what they mean. As an overall impression I feel that the dancer is describing the universe, polarity, animation, energy descending from the heavens, fierce energy, the state of bliss, prayer, humility - in all the dance of life.
I have found the music I like to listen to when watching. On YT on Meditative Mind channel, posted April 2018 and called Om Namah Shivaya : Mantra trance with shamanic drums. Try it and see. It fits perfectly for me.
I thought I had seen this before. Still in awe at the power, pace, and precision of movement. One of my favorite of the Shiva dances in Bharatnatyam (I think). I love the different characters- God and his devotee. @4.00 A great piece for video especially. The lighting adds to the atmosphere too. Best wishes. Aum namah Shivaya.

Indian classical dance and music isn't something to be perfected with mere gaining skills but when someone puts their mind and soul to it. It's something that you need to be spirituality connected with that is why it's not just mere art it is Sadhana 🕉
this dance doesn't only belongs to india.....don't ever say that....this was done by lankeshwor ravana who was king of lanka then how can you say this as indian....india and other countries did not exist too at time...just call it as shiva tandav..its not indian classical dance...not at all
