I’ll say this, Ryan showed his clinginess, and overbearing behavior from the first episode before Ken was ever mentioned. Not in any way did it help that Gypsy brought Ken up in later episodes, Gypsy is a whole mess by herself and in no way do I agree or condone anything she has done, however, Ryan’s behavior pushed her further away as I think it would anyone, He was a red flag from the first episode. Ryan seemed fine as long as he had all Gypsy’s time and attention. He comes across as too needy and possessive. Again, Gypsy didn’t do herself any favors by bringing Ken up. They had no business being married IMO, Gypsy will forever play the victim card so
He was being protective. She was being manipulative. She would tell this man all these things she wanted for herself, he would do his best to help her achieve them, and she would go against everything she claims to have wanted. How do you react to someone like that? You’re over here going off what she said she wants. Mean while her actions continue to contradict her words, and now you’re confused because you was doing what she asked you to do. Then out of nowhere she starts acting weird, starting fights, their family is disrespecting your marriage, she’s accusing you of being like their mother who she had taken out, wakes you up in the middle of the night to tell you they miss an ex who dumped them before marrying you, pushes you into doing things you don’t want to just to keep them happy like get a dog, has public conversations about private matters then turns it around to make it seem like you don’t want her to talk to her family, while also using her family as an excuse to create distance from you to do the thing you’re now starting to fear is happening; to leave you for her ex, who is conventionally more attractive than you and has the support of her family. That kind of gaslighting and manipulation would make any man look bad on a carefully edited TV show about life after a con artist got out of prison, for manipulating a mentally deficient person into committing a heinous crime that she planned out and played victim like she has her whole life.
He is a little secure, but also shows traits of control and possessiveness which would have probably gotten worse in the future and created a toxic relationship. Who wants to be possessed and controlled? It honestly feels like disrespect. Like oh you think I’m an incompetent child who can’t do anything for themselves? That’s not the intention but that’s how it feels being controlled by someone
