- Rapperswil is a beautiful town on Lake Zurich and a wonderful place to visit in Switzerland. The castle, which is the town's landmark, towers over the town. From the castle hill you have a beautiful panoramic view from the Glarus Alps to Lake Zurich. The lakeside promenade offers a variety of excursions and many restaurants invite you to linger. There is also a boat that takes visitors to the island of Ufenau in Lake Zurich.
Rapperswil is also known as the city of roses because the flower adorns the city's coat of arms and there are three rose gardens in the city. A special attraction in Rapperswil is the children's zoo where the animals can be petted and elephants can be ridden.
