I bought one...the threads on the clutch side are very fine. mine were in good condition, but I found the tool threads were not a good fit. it did get it off but if it was used a lot it would damage the threads.
Hello ,I bought an Av3 with mk1 frame ( no stand ) but with variator clutch and decompressor lever. It ran fine on purchase with home made rear wheel stand . After changing the tyres the engine piston does not turn with the pedals ( observing with plug out) . However a drill and socket on the crank centre nut ( right hand side ) does turn the piston . The belt is tight , chains are normal cycle tension and there is a new plug in it , but pedalling on the road she won't go . Any ideas ? I'm uk living in Ireland , very stuck to get any info or help on this machines engine in the English Language, by video or pdf as its all in French . Please if you don't know ,would you be able to forward me any links to engine servicing and persons ( in the UK / English speaking world ). Thanks ! I was told that the same motor was used in the Raleigh runabout ,but I can't get any literature in English for that either.
Thanks, that will be much appreciated, as I have just found an old dirty, beaten AV42S ( Thats what the engine says. The model looks older though. so..yeah.. Il be watching what ever videos you make on the Mobylette. Thanks for your uploads.
