Coming back to this video after the ending of Dragonflight, cuz the Zin Azshari music was used in the Bel’ameth cutscene… and my god what an amazing choice for the cutscene.
How can you not love World of Warcraft music? It's so genuine and pure. It's always been like that. To keep the music on the highest possible level is so hard, and the Warcraft universe since its very first games has had just the most climatic music you will find in the games.
most of what kept me bouncing back to wow was how appealing its climatic music is. The game itself never gets as perfect as the game's ambience is. Whenever I listen to wow music, something in me rly wants to just go back and play again. It's the dreamy, intense sounds that always have made this game a jewel for me. Not to mention cinematics. Both cinematics and music have been Blizzard's highlights to the planet.
This music is already so nostalgic for me. 8.2 was an awesome patch. Hearing this reminds me of much better times, in both the real world and in WoW. Can't believe its been 2 years...
I don't know how they do it, but music writers for WoW hit the nail on the head with conveying the atmosphere of each zone perfectly. To write beautiful musical piece is an achievement itself, but to evoke required emotions and immerse in the environment is beyond my comprehension. It is genius.
Me too, I feel like its one of the best pieces in WoW. Just so sorrowful but full of a sense of hope with the french horn (euphonium maybe? something awesomely brassy). So well composed.
The names are made up, hopefully fitting though. Enjoy the timestamps :P. 00:00 Royal Palace 02:46 Eternal Beauty 06:48 The Majesty 10:39 Sunstruck Depths 13:45 Into Watery Darkness 16:49 Underwater Village 1 18:55 Underwater Village 2 22:44 Queen's Shadow
I honestly miss BFA right now compared to Shadowlands. 8.2 was definitely the bright spot of the expansion. The music and art teams hard carry Blizz, but Nazjatar was one of those special places and felt very fateful to explore as a Night Elf. Hope for more like this soon!
2 years later I miss BfA compared to SL and DF, DF defo improved over SL but not over BfA. And neither came any close to how awesome Legion was. Nazjatar should have been released with Cata or Legion. Felt a bit out of place in BfA, in the way it did not get the love it deserved with so many ongoing parallel plots. Would fit like a glove on the other two expansions.

Here's my attempt at speculating the lyrics from Zin-Azshara A. Just spent a solid 5 hours trying to figure this out. My grammar might be a little off, I'm used to handling Thalassian rather than Darnassian Brackets are the 'upper' voices, singing over the top of the main one Darnassian Lyrics: Ash'thero shan'dor Bandu Azshar'dorei Ash'thero shan'dor (Ash'thero na-) Bandu Azshar'dorei (- Zin-Azshari) Ash'thero ana These English lyrics are VERY SPECULATIVE, as we don't know very many official words in Darnassian. Prepare to become born of Azshara Restore honour to those who have suffered (Those who have suffered for-) Prepare to become born of Azshara (- Azshara's Glory) Our struggle The lyrics for Zin-Azshari H sound almost the same but they're a little different, and I can't quite make them out entirely. "Bandu Asha dorei" Doesn't make much sense either I even tried something outlandish such as "Fandu ash adore" which didn't feel like it'd make much sense, although did make a "real" sentence. Part of why I went with "Azshar'dorei" was that the "Ash" from the first line sounds distinctly different from the "Azsh" in the second, almost like there's a Z in there. Plus it allows me to make a line that makes actual sense and is relevant to Zin'Azshari and Azshara. Same deal with the first line. I'm not sure what relevance honoured teachers(Thero'shan) and honoured students(Shan'do) has to do with the lore of Zin-Azshari, but restoring honour"Shan'dor" definitely sounds relevant, so it felt like a better translation. Meanwhile "Thero" can be interpreted mean someone who struggles or suffers, and "Ash" is similar to 'this' or 'those'. Therefore, "Ash'thero shan'dor". Literally, "Restore honour to those who struggle/suffer". "Talah fandu" in Zin-Azshari H is probably the line I'm most confident on the translation for, and makes perfect sense. If only I could make out the large orchestral section immediately after. Despite all this, I'm fairly certain this is a song about the pain of loss and how much Azshara wanted to save her people, that's clear enough just from listening to it. Or it's all gibberish that actually can't be translated. Blizz have been known to do that before... Most of my translations were gleaned from the WoWWiki speculation page for Darnassian, combined with my grammar knowledge of Thalassian.
Usually it takes a lot for "classical"/instrumental music like this to be something that I really enjoy and listen to multiple times, but almost every song on here is fucking great. 12:51 in particular, the little trumpet part, for some reason is an eargasm to me
I know this is the soundtrack, but how incredible was it first entering the boss room of Queen Azshara... that shit caught me off guard, I was stunned. The artists behind the music and the visuals are some insanely talented people
I come a bit late but anyway i will answer your question. As i musician, i can tell each track brings a lot of work to each musician. And practice the track many teams can be frustrating, even boring. But i promise, when you all play the final result... It cant be tell with words. Probably you get hard feelings listening to these music, but play It in live, be part of the song, hits different. Its a feeling that no one can understand untill you are there.
In the words of Queen Azshara: Magnificent. If only the gameplay team could innovate and create in the way the music and art team does. Such a shame that these beautiful and haunting tracks play while we're gathering hydra scales and playing bejeweled lite.
13:46 this is probably my favourite, i love the cymbals (or whatever they are) starting at 14:09 and the cello coming in at 14:50. It just sounds so calming, and that trumpet at 15:56 aswell, amazing. 16:50 is also fantastic, all the music is just amazing here..
From my point of view, this music is much much better than in the whole battle for dazar'alor patch. This just puts some greatness into the game again.
Can somebody tell me why people don’t like Nazjatar? The music, the story, the visuals and oh my god POEN AND NERI! I love Nazjatar and return there to relax!
For me, it's a level design that you can get lost or stuck somewhere while being on the way for world quests. I often stand above the quest area and drop to death. It's like doing pathfinder is a must for Nazjatar (Or at least have a whistle. That thing saved my life as a noob).
I don’t have flying to this day in Nazjatar ( if you meant mount flying, not flight masters ) and honestly - I don’t miss it. Nazjatar is small and I ( man I have a bad memory tho ) can remember basic paths and alliance camps to avoid. All I need is flight masters ( and my beloved whistle ) and goblin gliders. But yeah, for someone it can be difficult to orientate without flying.
@@akhylla_2671 I'm strange that way too, but I actually like all BFA zones much more than Shadowlands. Maybe because I generally like everything about ocean, islands, pirates and seafaring. I think Nazjatar is amazing too and I don't care about popular opinion.
When I think about what Nazjatar could have been, that's hard for me to totally like it. I was expecting a great underwater city, jewel of the Naga empire (something that could have looked like Suramar with a naga feeling), and all we have is some corals, ruins full of see weeds and a bit of naga buildings. Considering the fact that they had 10 000 years to build an empire, this is pretty disapointing. I however still hope we'll see one day the real Nazjatar, since Azshara is one of my favourite character from the story.
Was some good times. some of the best i ever had in WoW , even if some ppl call the expansion shit, and i been a player sense 2005. This hits me extra hard, i was playing this expansion along with a friend i knew sense i was 6 years old, wich went on to commiting sucide. Brings back alot of good and sad memories for me.
I thought there is no good music in WoW anymore. Good to see it didn't die out completely. The Zin-Azshari tracks, parts of a single theme, are all top league. In Legion, the only track I liked A LOT and would play dozens of times was A World Divided. WoD in contrast, had quite a few high-quality tracks, including Talador zone music, Grommash Hellscream theme, Wolf at the Gates, or Malach.
What the...? This is so beautiful. This is so much better than any music in BFA before that. The music sounds much more cinematic than it usually does in WoW. A lot of it reminds me of music that plays in Hunter Class Order Hall, btw. The only soundtrack this cinematic was probably WoD soundtrack. Oh, and the music sounds way more classical sometimes (like New World Symphony) than it usually does in WoW.
@@codrutl It only plays during the scenario where you rescue Baine from Orgrimmar. Sad that it wasn't used for anything else, like the Eternal Palace raid.
I am genuinely upset that such a beautiful zone and awesome storyline (Azshara's corruption and the destruction of Nazjatar) went to waste by being an afterthought of BfA. The music here is perfect parts wonder and sadness. The WoW musical team has never dissapointed.
Yeah, it's been a while since I've had a video like this. The last vid that did this well was my Iron Horde one from forever ago :o Anyway, thanks for the kind comment :)
I keep coming back to this one every now and then. This time after relistening to the human theme from Warcraft 3, which I learned was also composed by Stafford. What a god.
The soundtrack "Nazjatar General 1H", I love how it reuses a lot of the musical elements from Vashj'ir The soundtrack "Nazjatar General 1A" reuses a lot of the musical elements of Argus in Legion
Because they don't exist when the album is released. They definitely need like a part II album. It's unfortunate....the only time they released patch music from a previous expansion was the TBC soundtrack. They included a few tracks from the later patches of vanilla like Naxx & AQ, although the AQ music was used in Zangarmarsh anyways.
@@Ryan_hey yeah it sucks cause a lot of the time some of the best music is IN the patches. Seriously Ulduar + Icecrown, Dragon Soul (as shitty as that raid was the music was amazing in it) the variations on Garrosh and Jaina's themes in the various MoP patches and the Y'shaarj letmotiff's, Argus, Nazjatar. it's all great stuff.
i played this patch the most out of every other. nostalgia started to kick in even for this. miss those days.
Nazjatar and mechagon really were awesome zones. Its a shame everyone hated them because they had to play them for essences.

Blizzard's art/music team has NEVER let me down in a single xpac. They are just amazing.
the other teams tho...
What a good joke, they have been catastrophic for a long time on the musical aspects of the game. BFA and SL make you piss blood through your ears.
DF and TWiW's art is mostly shit.
@@Koneria___
Yeah, there are very few good songs in SL. I barely remember BFA's OST. DF and TWiW are outright atrocious(ly generic).
Being in the night elf part of Nazjatar makes me miss Suramar so much
so glad i'm not the only one
Or Azsuna
And The past of Aszuna
That's a small fraction of the ancient capital city of Zin-Azshari, of the Kaldorei Empire
Surumar city was so cozy, wish it could have lasted longer. The elf parts really makes me miss it too x3
Despite everything "bad" blizzard has done with World of Warcraft, the music they create has NEVER been a letdown!
I would say that they had a letdown with the second half of WoD and the fact that they stopped composing a proper amount of songs for every raid.
@@63Limar because they moved everything to help Overwatch, the music team wasn't even there to help WoW. Not their fault.

It really reminds me of a film song. cant think of it though. And when the violin kicks in. its on the tip of my tounge!
It reminds me of Westworld!!
Seems to be the perfect - Mad, but very powerful Queen - song a fantasy game can wish for
2:48 me encanta, me trae mucho sentimiento!!!
It was a pain in the ass to get around without flying
0:00 this part makes me tear up bc how beautiful it is 🥲
I loved this expansion I remember how I was dreaming about what am gonna do the next day there 😄
Came here looking exactly for this. Didn't trust your favourite part was the same as mine at first, but I tried it and it was worth it.
Why am i feel nostalgia to this theme
Was some good times. some of the best i ever had in WoW , even if some ppl call the expansion shit, and i been a player sense 2005. This hits me extra hard, i was playing this expansion along with a friend i knew sense i was 6 years old, wich went on to commiting sucide. Brings back alot of good and sad memories for me.
16:50 оh my god.....i not play in bfa, but this moment its perfecttttt
Nazjatar gives serious bioshock vibes and I love it
The double bass and violins still hits hard for me at:
11:57 +
12:10
15:00 +
15:13
20:00 the piano is so good.
Really brilliant soundtrack couldn't be better
14:49 hits hard.
El soundtrack de world of Warcraft nunca decepciona.
The song really conveys that feeling of wanting to find ancient beauty.
Ugh I love this
Dear gods... you feel the tragedy. This is just amazing.
Nice background! And cool music, obviously.
Can we already feel nostalgic???
Wow this soundtrack is absolutely beautiful
Najatar music, is the TOP music done by blizzard, after that comes Anduin theme, change my mind
9:33 oh my god never heard such a beautiful thing in my life, unfortunately good things last short
Wait a sec. I never heard that in-game. This is the first time I hear that theme.
@@codrutl It only plays during the scenario where you rescue Baine from Orgrimmar. Sad that it wasn't used for anything else, like the Eternal Palace raid.
9:34
So beautiful
14:50 is the greatest music ever appeared in WoW
13:45 💙 Miss BfA, especially patch 8.2, it was great
I am genuinely upset that such a beautiful zone and awesome storyline (Azshara's corruption and the destruction of Nazjatar) went to waste by being an afterthought of BfA. The music here is perfect parts wonder and sadness. The WoW musical team has never dissapointed.
Afterthought? It was the mini expansion of BFA, one of the best zones ever!
@@muSPKwow It should've been its own expansion though.
@@alextrill1746 Indeed!
00:46 is my favorite
A silent version would fit very well with the Night Elves, if ever they will have a new home
I agree. Would very much like an azshara style cloth robe for night elves too not the dang naga style xD
@1:10 imagine the people looking at the giant wave coming to destroy their world, their civilisation, their children...
It was sad 😥
"Acheteeeeeeeezzzzz le saaaaaaaaaavon, Acheteeeeeeeeeeeeeezzzz leeeee savoooooon" = Voix 1; Contrechant : "Le saaaaachet rieurrrrrrrrr!" 3:00
Thar moment 1:17...
Got chills when i did the quest with Shandris + this music
I am happy for you Yodragon, finally you got some views.
Yeah, it's been a while since I've had a video like this. The last vid that did this well was my Iron Horde one from forever ago :o
Anyway, thanks for the kind comment :)
Você é o melhor! Amo as musicas do Wow.
Blast BFA all you like, but it ain't the music's fault........WOW
I keep coming back to this one every now and then. This time after relistening to the human theme from Warcraft 3, which I learned was also composed by Stafford. What a god.
The soundtrack "Nazjatar General 1H", I love how it reuses a lot of the musical elements from Vashj'ir
The soundtrack "Nazjatar General 1A" reuses a lot of the musical elements of Argus in Legion
I can't forgive them that they didn't bring Tyrande to Nazjatar, to Azshara. But the very first track is magnificent and so... night elvish.
This is so epic...
It sounds so peaceful..
In reality you are being mowed down by 20 nagas 😂
you also pulled the elite pack. and two members of the opposing faction is trying to use you to get an essence
*”For the Queen “ intensifies *
I play DH so I'm the one killing them
You mean 40 hordes ganking you.
I like how N'zoth keeps sending us employment offers. Wavering between impressed and insulted that I resist.
Man, I would really like to know why Blizzard doesn't add the future updates soundtrack onto the Expansion album!!!
11:45 is beyond everything on the world
