Loved hearing you speak of mother nature. You have such a calmness about you, I can feel how connected you are. I really admire you speaking your mind on here, and continuously sharing the important stuff 😇

You need to get more credit from your content! Great job, I love it 😍 also more people should be hear what you are saying here because it’s just pure truth! We developed such bad habits because of technology and specially social media. It’s just sad that people forgot how to live.

Listening to this was helpful and I appreciate your insight. The only thing I disagreed with was the comment about posting on social media being narcissistic as a blanket statement. Yes, it can be narcissistic in many circumstances I'm sure, but that's not true for everyone. Personally I do feel weird about making posts about myself because it feels self centered and unimportant many times, but sometimes I do it anyway simply out of desperation for recognition and to be heard, because I'm incredibly lonely. Obviously, the reason as to why is a lot to do with everything you've explained in this video. But me making posts on social media has nothing to do with being a narcissist, so I don't feel that statement should be used as a blanket assumption. I think everything else you said was spot on though. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts.

Ok, I'm glad I found this channel. I've been on this journey for a while now. I mainly struggled with Instagram & TikTok. I've been about 9 months sober from tiktok. NEVER going back. I also haven't been on Instagram in about a month. So the next step for me naturally, was to trade in my iPhone for a flip phone. Not many of us do this. But I can't recommend it enough- especially if you are someone who struggles with focus, anxiety, add, adhd etc.

Just wanted to leave this comment, because I think your channel and its energy is absolutely invaluable. Keep up the creation of these videos as long as you enjoy it and push through it in case you don't enjoy it as much in a certain phase. I've built up my own RUclips Channel to a bit above 50k (this is my anonym account), so I now what these comments can mean to oneself and I can just tell you from personal experience that just one video can instantly put you above 10k in your situation, if it just hits the right "nerve". But numbers ain't everything, so just wanted to send you some positive & encouraging vibes and all the best to you for your future!

May I recommend an idea? Make yourself a "safety folder"....wherever you keep your files. save images to this folder. of things you love, that inspire you, that make you feel strong, feel safe, feel alive. It could be people, animals, decor, architecture, beautiful objects, whatever has meaning for YOU.....when you have a craving for social media to escape your thoughts, go to this folder. Take time to really focus on the photos. notice what you didn't notice last time. Fabrics, shapes, colors, patterns, similarities to other photos or things in your life....make it almost meditative, theres no wrong or right.
feel free to make one folder, or several folders, depending on what is going to make you feel safe. Even if this Safety Folder doesn't quite work for you....the act of making it will inspire you towards something that does.
I highly recommend this activity, and I wish you well on your self-care journey, Juarez.

    • @lauren_hogg
      @lauren_hogg  Год назад +6

Hey Juarez, I'm so sorry to hear of your struggles. As Ruud said, it must be incredibly difficult to feel unsafe from your own thoughts.
I have experienced feeling scared of my own thoughts and have really not wanted to be in my own head (but obviously I don't know your exact experiences.)
I love "delicious failure"'s recommendation in this thread - maybe that can also extend to videos or types of content you enjoy? Having a few videos that make you feel more positive or positively about yourself - this does then require you to set a time limit to put restrictions in place to make sure you're not spending too much time on the screen, mindlessly going from video to video.
But something that really helped me and continues to help me when I'm feeling really low, unsure, anxious, sad is getting out into the physical world. Which is, putting your phone, computer aside/ on airplane mode and noticing what it's like to be alive, be human, be in this world.
It can be as simple as "priming yourself" (search: Priming routine Tim Ferriss or Tony Robbins), which is, when you're feeling low, do something like 10 push-ups or squats or run around the block. Some breathing exercises.
Go for a walk (can be with music or a podcast), just get outside and ideally some sun.
Sit in a park or near water or as close to nature as you can get and really just make yourself sit there for 10 minutes.
Notice what's around you - notice the time of day and what that looks and feels like - play with the grass or dirt beneath you.
Breathe in and out through your nose. Do this for 10 minutes minimum, and if you feel like it, stay longer.
The hardest part is starting. And doing it for the first time will be the hardest. But set yourself this goal: I'm going to leave my house, go out into nature and sit & observe for 10 minutes every day this week.
You can bring a journal if you feel like writing, or a book to read after your 10 minutes is up.
      A drink and snack even.
Know that there are so, so many people struggling with the same thing.
It's wonderful for yourself to have recognised this within yourself and having the courage to comment.
Here are some videos I've made in the past that might be helpful with using social media and your phone/ computer:

I really enjoyed the video, it reminded me of some serois stuff I should change. I really like the way you form and present your thoughts, you are inspiring to me. You always keep it real and honest, I dig that.
But there is one thing that annoyed me a bit - the top part of your laptop in front of you. It kind of cut you off and made the frame a bit dysbalanced - I don't know if it was on purpose, but as I noticed it and began thinking of it, it was sort of fitting it the whole message of the video - the screen always being in front of and between us, distracting and dysbalancing. Like I said, I really don't know if it was on purpose, but hey - good job in the end, the screen pissed me off so much that I wanna throw it out and go do real world stuff ✨
