Sweet set up, I owned one of these when I lived overseas working as a contractor had a 225 in it, ran great!, I just rescued a 70W200 reg cab, with a decent 318 not LA, im thinking bout swaping a Mercedes OM617 I have into it. (only diesel I have and got it in a trade)
Just bought a 67 Fargo W200 . Needs the 318LA rebuilt . I have two 1st gen Cummins . Was thinking about going that route but may leave stock for now . Be nice with a 4tb Cummins so as not to cut the firewall . Nice truck , I see lots of time went into this build of yours .
Man, it’s a lot of work. If I had to do it over again and I️ was starting with a W200 like yours, I would get a gas donor from a late model with 2wd 5 speed. That way you can easily hook up with the existing divorced transfer case. You would have the newer fuel injection and be on the road in no time. The diesel is nice but man is it a lot of work and $$$$. The 4bt is a good option as well, just make sure you get a overdrive trans so you don’t have to re-gear your axles. I️m almost done with the project and anticipate driving it within a few months. Good luck with your new project, I’m sure you will have fun regardless which direction you go.
@@jasonhoward8985 Thanks Jason for your quick reply & for being honest about a Cummins conversion into my 67 Fargo W200 . A couple friends have told me " oh do the Cummin's conversion " ... easy for them to say lol . Plus they have never done one themselves nor spent the money to do so . So I am just going to either rubuild my 318 la engine ( if ok ) or look for another running 318 la with low miles or maybe a 383 . The more original I keep the truck , the sooner I will have back on the road to enjoy . I will just go through changing all the fluids , clean up interior , put on new original looking style rims & tires ...and that will be basically it .

I suggest talking to "k5blzr" on Instagram. He put a 12 valve in his crew cab, he should let you know what you're get into with a Cummins swap
