I really liked your honest running commentary. One thing I would point out is that the hull shape has many of the same issues as Trumpeter's Bismarck, in that the anchor stowage points don't resemble at all the real items (front on Bismarck and obviously rear on Scharnhorst), and they share the same obvious stern error in that the stern's rear profile does not fall nearly straight down to the waterline, but instead deeply curves forward on the kit. The model's upper side did look extremely well detailed, aside the smooth hull. I am curious as to why the Rodney has plating and not this, and you are quite right to point this out.

Herr Peter, the final build looks outstanding. I always enjoy how good you are with all those PE parts, that must be very time consuming. You must have a huge livingroom to accommodate all those ships, and a understanding wife. Again excellent build and video, looking forward to the next episode. Hi Peter, beautiful model of a beautiful ship and your craftsmanship is excellent. I have purchased the Revell 1/350 Tirpitz platinum series (approx 2200 parts) can you please tell me what type of super glue you use (is it gel and what drying time fast or moveable) and do you bend the PE with ultra small pliers or tweezers. The amount of PE in my model is unbelievable. Also it has the wooden decks do I stain them and clear coat them.

  • @Bellthorian

My only gripe is with the Swastika on the forecastle. I know you didn't paint it in but that was ONLY used when these ships were transitioning out of the Denmark Strait to prevent accidental aerial bombing by friendly aircraft. The Bismarck most famously is ALWAYS pictured with it on her forecastle. As soon as the Bismarck exited the Denmark strait they painted the swastika over. The paint did not have time to cure so when she was sunk it peeled off exposing the Swastika under it. Why make a made with something that was only used in a very specific situation and for only a few hours at a time.

Great job she looks amazing, one thing I think could be improved on for the kit is the main guns don't have any covers, if you look at the Dragon 350 model you can see what I mean.

Hi Roberto! Thanks, i am glad you like it! in 1/32 it is sure a big model! I didnt do a wash on the plane as the superstructure is not weathered as well, so i didnt want to make it dirtier than the surroundings.
The mark fit for the decals is especially useful if the model part where you want to apply the decal is not a straight surface, with the mark fit, the decal will take the shape of the model part much better, for example panel lines on the plane's wings.

nice job, just two things, the double secondary 150mm guns with the quadruple flak 38 above do not go aft but forward,(you have reversed the position) the color of all aa guns is black not ship gray, only the gray base ,the waterline is too thin in the Germans it was 2.50 meters
in 1/200 scale 9/10 millimeters, the trumpeter model still looks good even if some details are missing both on the hull (the armor has not been demarcated) and on the superstructures (the funnel is not entirely exact) the blastbags are missing in all guns except the 105, however, nice job

    SUPER🔝Ahoi Peter
Intresting idea to sell the modells🤔(I also live in small flat in the attic, and space is luxery...but i gave a few modells away as a gift,so its okay)
However.Yeah the price for modells sometimes are very high and i have to wait for bigger things in 1:200●
I'm doin good with 1:350 Scale. The only 2 modells i like to buy in 1:200 is Titanic and maybe a German U - Boat...which is another scale but big.
As much as like Navy Ships,i like to build Oceanliner.I wish there would be the Rms Mauretania in 1:350 - 1:200 Scale or the late Rms Olympic in her last year around 1937...or the Old Queen Mary which is in Long Beach now.
    However.
    Its a never ending story,its the same with music,cause i'm a musician for over 41 years(breadless art😁)
Anyway, nice video, top modell, exellent work(I really like the Arado 196👌》I buildet the Arado 196 in 1:48 scale from Tamija 2 Month ago and it was so much fun after building all those mini Arados 196 on the DKM Ships.

Hi Jochen! I usually sell my models for the price of the kit that i have paid, sometimes even less, so it is not to make money from it, just to get something back for the considerable time we spend on this great hobby. So i am glad there are people who like my models enough that they pay for it!
I would like to make an ocean liner in the future as well! i once made a SS United States in 1:400 (i think) from Revell and it was quite bad, so im not sure where to start.
The best thing about 1/200 for me is that you can imagine the details of a ship much differently from 1/350, where many parts are only schematically represented, which are detailed and consist of several parts in 1/200. I have never been on a ship bigger than 10 meters, so i really like to get impressions of big ships!

    • @J.A.Hansen
      @J.A.Hansen 3 года назад

      @@funinscale2892 Hello Peter
The SS United States was a nice ship. But the modell from Revell(i was building it in 1978,was not a good modell and it had a small size so you buildet maybe the bigger version from it.
Well i remember i had a lots of problems with modell, but around that time in 1978 i didn't had that skills that i have today.
Oceanliner has a lots of tricky curves and you need a lot of superglue.
As much as i like the tools from Revell, but a few of their modells has too many silly details and the contruction plans are many times not correct.
So its always 50% Problem and 50% Fun.
The new modells are a little bit better but anyway.
Well the biggest ship i ever was on was the Car Ferry Schleswig Holstein in Cuxhaven around 1979.I think 130 meters.Me and my parents wanted to visit some family from my father in Denmark.Well it took one hour or so until we reached the Danish coast. How ever it was great and i still smell the diesel and the seawater. Now that ship wasn't so big,but you could feel the power of maschines.Very nice.My father also was a sailor and he was on ships for over 15 years somewhere between 1946 or so until the late fievties. So there is a deep love for ships and the ocean inside of me.Normaly i should live there but i don't I'm a musician and things turned the other way.
However one of my Oncles was in World War 2 on the DKM Bismarck but only for a visit cause he was at the DKM on a S -Boat...However have no clue how this came together, but i think that he knew Admiral Lütjens which was born in Wiesbaden like my oncle,so i think that is why.
I'm also born in Wiesbaden just a few blocks away from the street where Lütjens was born so that closes the circle.
Well my oncel often told me how impressed he was when he had a chance to be on board of the Bismarck. She was a Monster.
How ever i think if you ever have a chance to get the book》Titanic Queen of the Ocean by Ken Marshall you should buy.Awesome photo book with drawings and details all over.Somehow i don't have it anymore cause over the years,-I lost many things.
You can get this by Booklooker for a 20 euros or so.Normarly it was more expience.
I think if you like the scale 1:200 that much, the Titanic from Trumpeter will does it to you.
I buildet the Titanic from Airfix in 1:400 and became very well. But it took me 2 month to build it.
Anyway.I have a very special relationship with Titanic, cause some of my family in denmark wanted to go to america on Titanic in the third class, but never reached the promised land....Its not normal that i had all these people in my family that had all of these historical backround with these ships.
      Its a mystery...
      Anyway.
      Have a nice day🍀
Best regards and wishes to Östereich🇦🇹

It was possible to make a historical Scharnhorst paint scheme for the beginning of 1940. Just a series of black and white stripes on the hull of the ship, without any stripes on the settings) There are now enough books about German camouflages, even in the public domain.
