    I just used this technique on a piece of glass and it was so easy and fantastic. I love the end results. Thank you for making this clear and concise. The finish on my mirror is exactly what I was hoping for. I am definitely addicted and will be making more of these in the future. Awesome tutorial!

    The stencil makes it all come together. Nice!

      Thank you! I really love it and will be making the stencil permanent. I put temp vinyl on just to make sure I'd like it first!

    I thought it was nicely done -- and then you added the stencil -- and I fell in love! You are so very creative!

      Haha! I like it too…. It’s a temporary sticker right now because I wanted to make sure it want too “cutesy” or tacky but I think I’ll make it a permanent etching!

      @@homemakingwithoutfear How did you make the stencil look aged/worn? The end result had areas worn to perfectly match the vintage look of the mirror. I didn't notice the stencil appearing that way when you did the transfer.

      @@patrickbunce3372 the stencil is made from a frosted semi transparent vinyl… so when I applied it the color of the mirror shows through ! I may eventually make this permanent by using an etching cream and a stencil but for how the etched vinyl looks nice I think! Thanks for watching!

    I absolutely LOVE the process & the detailed way you explained everything. What a piece of art in the end!🧡🧡❤❤
    If you're not aware AND if that is door is pre 1972, the glass is probably annealed float glass, (non-safety glass).
    A homeowner can do pretty much what they want when doing projects like this when they are not inspected by the "Jurisdiction Having Authority". PLEASE BE CAREFUL! If the glass were to break & fall out, it could fall down in large sharp shards that could be very life threatening. Like a guillotine it could sever appendages & cause severe bodily harm.

    I love it want to do glass block shower wall any suggestions

      Thank you! I would definitely try to remove the shower door as a first option. Remove hardware or at least tape it. Lay it flat and proceed with the step by step process. I don't thing you could make it turn out well by doing it vertical.

    Great video. Thanks for such awesome tips. Qq. Can I roll black paint in the back instead of spraying it?? Right at the end I mean. Thanks.

    Love it! What kind of vinyl did u use for the stencil? I would like to know how to make one

    • @homemakingwithoutfear
      @homemakingwithoutfear  2 года назад

      So I used a temporary vinyl… not permanent because I loved the mirror so much I wondered if the stencil would look to busy… I love the stencil so much now that I’ve had it I’m going to redo it with permanent clear frosted vinyl. I also put the temp stencil on crooked. No one notices but me but I’ll eventually redo it!

    I have a door I want to use on my bathroom. how would I do the mirror effect on both sides?

    • @homemakingwithoutfear
      @homemakingwithoutfear  2 года назад

      Hello! You would use the same technique and finish with the mirror spray paint … your last coat you would not dab. Leave it to dry. The last cost would be mirror effect but wouldn’t look as distressed if that makes sense.

    did you use gold first? it looks gold in the step right after you cleaned it

    • @homemakingwithoutfear
      @homemakingwithoutfear  2 года назад +1

      Yep! After you clean it well you want to start with the lighter colors… in my case gold then bronze then black…. Spraying the ethyl alcohol water or vinegar water mix in between spray paints then blotting after painting …. This creates the antique “splotches” with the lighter color shining through…. My blog as full step by step written out and printable if you need that!

    That was amazing- so beautiful!! Only question…was it a ‘stencil’ you added or a rub-on transfer? It really added so much, but I wish there had been more footage of that part.

    • @homemakingwithoutfear
      @homemakingwithoutfear  2 года назад

      Thank you so much! It was a frosted vinyl stencil that I cut with my Cricut machine. A rub on transfer would work too. I wanted mine to be custom and have not done rub on before. I’d love to earn though

    I don't like it , it doesn't look like a mirror, more resembles of an dirty class that is screaming to be washed, sorry.

      that's fine! not everyone has to have the same style. Vintage and Antique is definitely a taste that is not for all! thanks for watching.
