I'm 41 & I find myself dancing everyday. I can't help it. It's unstoppable, especially when you put on some house music. It moves me literally. I probably seem crazy to a lot of people. They just don't feel it like us.💗🎶🕺🇺🇸✌🏻Love y'all!⭐
Sometimes you will find the DJ spinning in a way that clicks with you so well that it's almost like you can feel a connection with him/her, like a dialogue or a converstation. When that happens, you will find the people have all moved off the dancefloor to make a circle around you to watch. Another dimension that takes place during those long excellent live mixes is when someone challenges you on the floor. In house, it's always fun to battle on the dancefloor. It gets really expressive.
growing up in chicago, house dancing was totally different back when in the 90's. It was alot faster, more footwork based. Its surpriseing to see how much it has evolved from the dance to the music!
I was there, a fixture at Rednofive, and the numerous parties. The dance back then was more freestyle! I live in London now, and if I dance there, in that old style, people get out their cameras 😂
Remember first watching this vid back in 2007 during my first year in uni, today I'm a married man with kids! Gosh how time flies but house is timeless...
you, same life! first saw this video at University or Rochester in 2009! Now married, 3 beautiful kids. But this video still gives me the chills when I see it. The song still gets me going to this day. Great stuff. Really embodies the power of music
I also watched this vídeo at the same year of 2007. Like you, I also was in the first year of my university. But my life went really wrong (feeling I lost 10 year of my life). I finished my grad, but no job, lost my girlfriend, no kids. I'm lost, but I'm trying to put my life back on track. Today 2017 is 2007 again. I hope 10 years from now the things change for good!
Caught this back in 07 as well, was glad to stumble upon it again. As a 40+ year old father of 5, grandfather of one and DJ i absolutely love and live house....
Dude, i’m 45, married and have a kid, but i still listen to house music. House music is timeless indeed. I am trying to introduce my daughter to house music, not the techno/electronic crap that they listen to these days.
God I remember tearing it up in the clubs of Manchester to Love can't turn around by Farley Jackmaster Funk. From early Chicago House to now: you can't beat a banging tune and a loved-up crowd...!
You just brought me back talking about Sound Factory. Damn, I loved that club. I remembered it moved a couple of times. I loved the one that was a block or two away from the tunnel, and the location before that which was in the village somewhere (I forget). Yeah, and there was no battling. Dancers would face off, but it was done just to show some skills. I remember when 'Work it to the Bone' would come on and everone would just start working it out, and I mean everyone.
I was always fascinated by this style of Dancing......too cool for words. I am from the class of 1995 and saw several of my peers rocking the House Moves at the dances.
Remembering early 80s at the Loft Garage.. house dance it's a total synchronization of mind body and spirit all coming together as One.. we're all communicating through dance.. it was one collective Consciousness on the dance floor..just Beautiful ❤️
I get goosebumps everytime i watch this. Everyone got off in this vid, it just makes me want to get up & Jack..... House Makes you feel Alive... how can anyone not appreciate that..... I will always love house music, its in my soul!!!!! Thanks for a Great Vid toybox! 5*
I learned to dance house years ago in the birthplace of it.. and that was in the loft parties & underground clubs of Chicago, and one thing I can tell you from my years of experience is that real house dancing is a totally spontaneous freestyle form of expression. It only happens when the music is right, and you have surrendered your body to the rythm.
Deeeeamn! This reminds me of my first year in the USN, Fall 90'. Homey in my division from Brooklyn asked me to help him drive up top for the weekend. Keep in mind I'm from Ohio and this is my first time in NY. I swear, must have gotten 3 hrs of sleep the whole 4 days we were there. The scenery, the clubs, the double parking, PR GIRLS, crackin' a 40 outside and cops not givin a fuck!? Oh WaOow! Big up East NY, Kent Ave in the early 90's. I will never forget the experience!
This is one of the best if not the best House songs I have ever heard to listen to and dance too. The video has some great really original dance freestyle house moves. 5 stars!
Mutiny UK - new Horizons is the name of the song, Good video awesome dancers..reminds me back in the day when we used to bust it out at the club, showing the new people that came how to dance. memories!
I couldn't agree with you more. I too was house head in NYC back in the 80's. Hittin' the clubs when DJ's like Knuckles, Humphries, Regisford etc. were spinning.
Alotta those cats are from Houston. Use to always come out when i was djing. I remember when alotta them first started. Became some of the best dancers ive ever seen. House music still lives.
Nice compilation!!! I may have to come out to join your class. I gotta brush up on my house dancing skills so I can house in my house.....and everywhere else.
I LOVE it!!! I got mad respect for peeps who r into the House (Progressive, Tribal, Deep, Funky, Tech) scene. I like my House dark and chuggy when I go clubbing so I can dance up a storm. It's the greatest feeling -- ever!! I House for the VIBE. Peace!
The guy in the brown shirt with the beret 2:17 has amazing style and feeling for the music. All the dancers were great but he stood out; makes me want to get to the club this weekend, lol!
As a Dancer... and Lover of Music. Im feelin dis shyt soo hard.. Da entire video housers was feelin it 2 da highest degree.. i Love da housers wit da smooth movements.. as if there feet doesnt touch da ground or litterally feet movements jus so fluid.. love dat type of house i like dis..
My cousin would demonstrate lofting and his incredible floor werk. He was considered one of the better dancers from that era. This was in the early 70's. Floor werk and the foot werk was much different than the floor and foot werk that we do today.
TOP MOVIE!!! Nice cuts, nice moves, nice scense from B-boy. I love this music and dancing style, but I think in my home Im one of the minority of dancer in this style. Greets Holly
Men tend to put more movement into it, but that doesn't mean that there should be a noticeable difference. Like I said, it's just about being so comfortable with the rythm to the point that your movement comes without thinking. You can rehearse sets of movements if you want, but when you really start to get house, even rehearsed movements will flow in a way dictated by the mix you are dancing to.
Oh my gosh Paradise Garage was like one of the best places to exert all feeling and emotions in dance. You left feeling like you hit the lottery, I felt rejuvonated.
May GOD BLESS the sounds,DJ'S,dancers and supporters of House...House is such an spiritual, soulful and uplifting experience it could come from GOD!!! The sounds are so powerful they take over your body...it is not mind over matter, but rather HEART over matter, and since GOD resides in our HEARTS let's be thankful to HIM for this art form. Stay blessed brothers and sisters:-)

man I love this video...house rules!! house dance rules! I listen to house at work and people wonder why I feel so good and it's because it's all the feeling that house gives me! Keeps me happy even in a job I hate :)
This reminds me so much when I was a reigning champion. Second to only a handful. It feels so good to see it again. Shouts out to my old group Compound. AKA-FoOt wOrK...The dude at 1:39 looks like he sample me alot. lol. Na same style just different freezes and poses. My vote, dude at 1:39 is the best that I see on here. First cause hes effortless with out thinking when he grooves. You dont have to go crazy when you dance. Just be on point, meaning stay on beat. Even out of a spin.
Thanks for the info. I don't shuffle step but i do dance my ass off too house music. After watching JSantiago i'm willing to learn more moves for real!!
michel (or Michael in USA) Onomo...won the Juste Debout house competition in 06...best house dancer in europe in my opinion...mebbe even the world at the moment. I'd rank him up there with Brian Green. His jacking and overall upper body movement are crazy and greatly compliment his footwork... unfortunately i haven't been able to find any exclusive clips of him other than on DVDs...i'll keep lookin tho.
There's a "House Old School Dictionary" vid with Caleaf and Budda Stretch (two NY legends) that points out some basic moves. It seems House dance has a influence from Tap dance, Ballet, Break dance, Salsa, and African dance. Toybox, hahaha, mannn, I give you props on posting this vid, I just love house so much more now, I'm like tearing up in my eyes. . . T_T you gave. . . the ULTIMATE DANCE! BUCKETS OF TEARS! LMAO
Yea I have 3 different footwork combinations that I rely on, but you can really vary them by twisting or reorienting your body so that it doenst get too stale when you move. The move i want to learn next is where Jardy teaches you how to spin properly. Crowds and dance circles and ladies love the spin. I'll subscribe to you, send me a note if you post anything. I dont have any of my dance videos public because people at my job are subbed to me as well so I like to keep it private.
NYHousedancer7, thanks for the respect. I'm just trying to figure it out. So what kind of dancing did they do in the clubs before breakdancing came out? i.e Paradise Garage... my cousin and brother used to hit the Paradise Garage and would come to my house in the early morning boasting of "their good time".
When you are truly good at house, you can dance to either the upbeat or the downbeat, or switch back and forth. There's an old saying that holds true. "It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing!"

I felt House music in my soul at the Tunnel in NYC 1988.

Same here. My two girls live for house music at only the ages of 2 and 14. Long live house music!
