Shannon commented on news reports and statements from prosecutors. He could not be successfully sued for expressing an opinion tied completely to those reports. Those reports seem very credible, and I would not be surprised if Shannon's opinion is completely validated.

He's just trying to scare people by threatening to sue and hoping it gets clogged up in the courts that he can make Sharpe back off and not say anything else on the matter, but if Shannon were to fight it, he'll more likely win because everything he voiced on undisputed wasn't any different from what everyone else was reporting at the time.
