Never really used a laser thermometer, so this vid is interesting. Emissivity is fascinating. Great review, Ty.

I have had one for years. On my second in fact. They are pretty handy.

    Congratulations for the use of a very unusual word: D I S T I N C T I F I E S .
According to the Urban Dictionary, the word distinctify is:
"A totally logical conjugation of the word distinctive that is not included as part of the English language so that assholes can feel intelligent by correcting people about something trivial."
I knew you were highly knowledgeable about tools, Catus, but your extensive lexicon is also quite impressive.

Wouldn't be surprised to learn it is one and the same. A lot of things are multi branded by the same manufacturer.....somewhere in the bowels of China.

9V batteries kill it for me. They are expensive. I bought IR thermometers that work on rechargeable AAAs.

Never even occurred to me to worry about it. I don't use it every day and my batteries last between 3 and 4 years. Literally. I have the 9v laying around anyway since I use them in older smoke detectors in my home.

Just use rechargeable 9v of u r too cheap to buy a 9v every few years. I'm on my 4th year on same generic battery that came with the unit.
