Good for you for knowing what to rip and use for something else. That's such a hard thing when so much time has been invested and I love that you went through and did this. I get why you don't wear or knit shawls. I never expected myself to be a shawl knitter, but I live in Texas and it is HOT here. The few days it is cold, people crank thermostats into the 70s, so even then, a plush and fluffy wool sweater is much too hot. Most of my knit sweaters are tees in linen/cotton blends. But a shawl I can easily take with me and put on and remove quickly when it's too hot. And they usually don't require as much yarn as a cardigan in my size, so I can buy more expensive yarn. But I'm jealous of knitters who live in places where they can knit big, cozy, fall and winter knits and wear them for more than 3 days a year.
I have a bunch that have been hanging around for years and I used to say it was ok because I can work on them when I am old and in a home! What makes me think I will be able to see well enough to do cross stitch!!!😂😂😂
Haha I'm the same, well, 24 years to be exact 😂 I bought it when visiting a friend abroad who had just had her first baby, and I used to joke if I didn't finish it for years she could have it for her 21st birthday... Well she's now 24 and no sign of the cross stitch being finished 🤭
@@yorkshirenomeat least I am not the only one! But why can’t we just let them go already? Nope, just keep moving it around to a new location chanting one day…one day. 😂
This seems like such a cathartic experience, letting go of things that have been sitting for a while. I love the color you’ve picked out for your new Fouetté cardigan, so much that I contemplated doing the same 😂. Your Little Crystals is coming along nicely too!
Thanks Amanda for sharing. Good for you for not keeping I am trying to do the same thing frogging or keeping. I think the boucle yarn and white speckled yarn would make an adorable baby sweater or dress. I found an adorable baby sweater Lily on ravelry. ❤
Have you ever seen the George Carlin stand-up “A Place for Your Stuff”? I’m convinced projects bags are the knitters’ equivalent, as soon as I have a new project bag, my WIP pile also grows by one 😂
Funnily enough, I am working on my Helia as I am watching this. It is coming out so beautiful, but it is definitely a focus knit 😅 I only just worked out how to do the weirdest of the cable - 37 rows into chart B 😂 Better late than never right?
First of all, I would love to say congratulations on your upcoming baby girl. It's so exciting. I really hope that you continue as the knitting channel that you are and not turn into a baby-centric only knitting channel. I've subscribed to other channels where this has happened and was so disappointed and unsubscribed. Please stay the way you are❤
Why would you say that ? This is her channel to do with as she pleases and being a first time mom is exciting for her. Others of us don't mind if she adds baby stuff. Just be happy for her and move on if you don't like what a podcaster puts out.
@@karencarlisle3592I don't mind if she adds baby stuff, just to not turn it into an exclusively baby only channel as others have done. By the way, I am a grandmother and love children, but I get disappointed when channels change their format to focus on baby only...
@@christenagervais7303That’s fine that you’re a grandmother but let me say it again…. it’s HER channel and if she wants to make it all baby… she can! Don’t tell people what they should do. Have a great day Granny 🤨
@@karencarlisle3592Why would you call me "granny" in such a derogatory way? Are you being ageist? Am I not allowed to like this channel because I'm "old"?
@@christenagervais7303no I am not being ageist. You said you were a grandmother aka granny. If anything at your age you should know better than to tell someone what to do. And should know better that if you don’t like it don’t watch. I do not have any babies to knit for but you can bet that even if she decides to knit all baby things I will for sure watch because Amanda is a beautiful knitter. And I am pretty certain I’m not the only one that feels this way.
Lots of potential for baby things!!❤❤❤
I love seeing what projects others have hiding away. 😄 Also! I loved our collab! 😘
It was so much fun to work together! I’ll cherish the stitch markers forever. 💜
Oh my. How many projects. They are all lovely ❤

It would be fun to see UFOs (unfinished objects) get traded or sold between knitters - I would completely buy the shawl WIP from you! 😊
I have a cross stitch project I haven't touched in 25 years!😂 But I just can't get rid of it!

Knitting straight stockinette puts me to sleep! This was a great video BTW! You kept me company while I stitched on my latest Long Dog Sampler!
If your gauge has changed just swatch again and change needle size 😊
Oh my gosh you’re totally right. Duh! Haha. Thank you!

Happy that you were able to get the video uploaded! Looking forward to seeing all the WIPs!
I loved this video!

If you end up finding the Lento too pale, could you dye it once the whole sweater is finished?
Yes, I totally could! Another reason I think it’s worth finishing!
