I absolutely love how vivid the idols are this time. Not saying previous idols weren't, but these guys? They're bursting with SO much individuality yet so much compatibility and I love that, because that's ultimately the most beautiful thing about friendships and I think Nintendo 100% nailed it with these three. Not to mention how that reflects in the song - very distinct cultural sounds from different places in the world but it all blends so well to make probably the most festive and blooming Splatfest song we've ever gotten. Also, it's very fitting thematically sense Splatoon 2 post Octo Expansion, Octolings get to go to the surface and finally live with Inklings in harmony. It's a huge embrace of differences. Props to Nintendo for that sense of continuity!

Sadly, 3 Bands in, I'm afraid Deep Cut might grow underrated/underappreciated. I find more and more to like about them as time goes on, so hopefully the staying power of this game will change some minds.

I love that Frye trips and sits down for a second, giving everyone finger guns, before she stands back up during that part when Shiver sings

And it appears they either got too close or Big Man is VERY loud, but when they step back towards him and he sings, they make faces and back up really quick
Just shows that these arent professional idols or people who've been doing this for a while
Its like they put on Splatfests for their own fun instead of because they need to
It looks less like Frye tripped and more so intentionally sat down.
Also, all of this still seems to be part of the intentional choreography: when their solo's come up the other 2 give the one singing space to be the sole point of attention. Until they are all singing, anyways, at which point they are all the focus.
I think that they get away from big man because... HE BE SO BIIIG and can slap them unintentionally
They forgot not to get close too or big man will accidentally hit you with his giant fins
I think they make the shocked faces when they get close to Big Man because they realize the camera about to zoom in on him and they need to get out of the way for his shot

I gotta say, Shiver might be best girl and Big Man is so huggable... but Frye is starting to win me over them two. Frye is jarring to see at first (given the reaction and jokes) but her uniqueness and her seemingly bubbly personality is making me like her more. I almost felt bad when she got totally nuked in the voting on Paper in my region.
If she had any sad or disappointed dialogue I would’ve felt so bad. Thank god 😵💫✌🏻 she’s definitely is the cute, spunky one

As someone on the 17% of paper. Im glad we got second lol. I wanted to have fun and prove to the rude people saying paper will looses because frye is ugly and big man team win and shiver second.. just yeah. It was nice i was satisfied congratulations to all teams tho

The Samba bit it's absolutely INSANE. The blend of style, japanese, indian and brasilian are superb.

during the second half of the splatfest I no longer felt like something was missing.
I don’t think I’ve seen a single fan saying they DONT like big man. He’s the best thing Splatoon 3 has to offer. And that’s saying A LOT

I’m more made about the tri colored turf wars than rock winning tbh. I feel like the imbalance with that was a good factor in us scissor team coming in last
@@NyanNegotiable I believe the tri-color turf wars were built with the belief that all three teams would be fighting each other, but the losing teams would have more of a chance to work together. I never once found a point in fighting rock, since I won if they won anyways. But, tbf, I do believe the winning team can win as long as they are able to communicate. Of course, that's presumptuous, since there's definitely no way of knowing they'll have good team work
I have never played any Splatoon game in my life, but I really appreciate the range of cultural influences in both the music and movements here!
More games should strive to showcase the cultural variety of our world and introduce players to what might be "foreign" territory to them.
Also, this song's a certified mood booster for sure!

It definitely helps that even tho there's very clear real world influences, the fictional setting allows them to really push some of the designs and ideas to new heights because there technically isn't a wrong way to do it because its a "fake" set of cultures

Since Big man's part in the song wasn't that huge, I kinda imagine every songs they releases are composed by Big man.

He Is the one that does the choreography, and probably dictates the stage flow since he Is a máster dancer according to official sources
In dev interviews, they confirmed that Big Man is indeed their main composer

I absolutely love how Shiver’s dance is precise and elegant, while Frye is wild and spunky. Really shows a difference between how Inklings and Octolings combine their personalities and their movements.

Well, we already know a couple of things about them. Shiver and Frye come both from noble families, and big man is their writer and also has traditional dancing school

Translations from different languages suggest they’re treasure hunters/ looters, which fits the anarchy theme pretty well. so hopefully, in the english version, it’s mentioned and theres a story behind it

Despite Big Man's huge lack of posable proportions like the other two, he is still able to give off so much personality in his performance.
This just makes me want this game even more, during the demo I would always use the cursor to zoom in on the three dancing.

I love how expressive Nintendo's animation has gotten over the years. They move so fluidly, it's such a huge improvement when you look back at Callie and Marie fr. I didn't like Deep Cut at first but they're very quickly growing on me.
I would dance around with my blanket ( I wrap myself in a blanket cause my house is COLD ) pretending to dance like Big Man
Frye and shiver have this complex choreo, and big man's is just Wave your arms and maybe spin around if you feel like it
watching all of them just bouncing around, doing their own thing during most of the song just really portrays the anarchy theme of splatoon 3, not to mention how this song has so many styles being jumbled together. it's sooo good, I love them so much

Actually, hilariously, imnpretty sure thats the faces if shock because when big man started to do his dance moves they were too close and bumped into him,(notice how they immediately moved much much farther away) and i find that wonderful
I love all of the idols so much but Frye was my favorite since she was introduced but especially now

I didn’t get that much of a dark and cold vibe from her! She smiles and she laughs warmly. Not as cold, but cold blooded 🦈

Big Man is the one that seems like he would be funny dumb yet is the sweetest
Shiver is the calm and chill partier
I like how everything is blended here. The samba dance, the fan choreography (very 2000 japanese discoteque style) the super mixed middle east dance postures and cloth (and the singing, very bollywood like) and the matsuri / carnival vibe... and not forget the "real life" color festival, the Indian Holi. All together and in your face, even the Super Bowl Shark dances!

I really enjoy at some points they're all spinning together! It really gives you the vibe of community, because big man may not be able to do as intense choreo as the other idols but they make him feel included in the dance!!!

Let's hope these guys can keep partying past 2 years. Splatfest deserve to continue throughout the rest of Splatoon 3's life, even if they have to repeat themes.

Frye slayed the whole song
You can tell just how much more confident Nintendo has gotten in animating the dancing! Even tho Squid Sisters had some nice dancing, it was not nearly as complex. And Off The Hook took a less dance heavy approach. So to see something like this as a dancer myself, it makes me so happy!
True! I didn’t think about it until now, but they did nailed the dancing! Confidence in the coreo + super smooth animation
@@pandapan5797 Exactly! The animation specifically, the Squid Sisters were occasionally choppy, whereas Off The Hook was more,,, floaty? The way especially Pearl would move sometimes was a bit rough. Together with loads of chipping thru their model with the hair, mostly from Marina. But here they nailed most of it!
also they got better with the lip syncing as well, there was a part of marie's mouth animations that were screwed up in splat 1, like her mouth closing while she was holding a note
Not to mention the camera movement on the screen behind them

I love all idols from the previous games but I like how they went with traditional idols this time instead of another modern ones.
this particular Splatfest song is giving more festival energy than the previous songs, and I love it that they decided to mix cultural music and somehow can blend really well
Seriously though, Shiver's routine looks incredible. I love the mix of femininity and elegance they put into her dance.
I like how, even though Shiver looks the most intimidating of the group, she’s shown to be quite refined and takes what she does seriously.
It's a bit disappointing that you ca't see their mouths animating during parts where they're clearly singing but their movements are adorable. Big Man is literally just vibing. I want to give him a hug

Deep Cut grew on me a lot more than I thought they would. Shiver and Frye are way more likeable now, at least to me. Good Job splatoon team :)
