Mike: I was waking up in the morning, wishing that I didn’t exist. It wasn’t that I would just die and move on, I wanted God to get rid of me. I thought he had made a mistake in creating me and that I was worthless.
There’s a picture of Christ that my father drew, and I took that picture with me everywhere I went. I had the thought come into my mind, “Mike get down on your knees and say a prayer.”
I slowly got down on my knees. I had no idea what to say. The only thing I could get out of my mouth, the only words, were, “Help me. Help me.”
And as soon as those words left my lips, I felt His grace, and I knew that He loved me. I knew that I was worth something to Him.

What if you pray pray pray ans life gets worse as a result from praying
God loves you and He knows what is best for you. Sometimes He lets you experience difficult things because the experience is helping you learn and grow and become a better person. Or the difficult thing might lead to something better (for example, maybe you were laid off from a job because God has a much better job waiting for you soon). But even when life is difficult, you can always pray for more peace and comfort and strength to get through your trials, and God will help you.
