  • Anne Rice talking about Tale of the Body Thief, I believe this was in October 1992. I had never heard of Anne Rice but I was watching this show, my ears perked up when I heard "vampires" in the teaser before the interview, and knew I needed to start taping. Later that day I went out and bought Interview with the Vampire and The Vampire Lestat based purely on this interview. I was a huge Anne Rice fan for years after that. RIP Anne Rice.

There'll be no one like her walking on this earth again, who'll give us great books to read. Not only to read but also to learn from. No one writes like she did.

I believe there will be other great writers out there, writing works that will be one day celebrated. There will never be another Anne Rice, though, because she was her own unique, rare kind of self. I love hearing her talk of literature and how happy she looks ♡ very sad to know that she has passed on. She got to live a long life , and the stories she left to the world won't be forgotten any time soon. R.I.P. anne rice, the Queen of vampires

What a special woman, I would have loved to have gotten the chance to meet her. The way she writes and the way she talks is spell binding. I agree with previous comments, we will never see her like again ❤

It's so wonderful to see her interviewed at the First and Chestnut house, and see footage from a signing at Garden District Books. Every time I'm in New Orleans I stop by both. The last time I saw her alive was in 2014 at the Vampire Lestat Ball. She was sung into the event by Mardi Gras Indians and was so over the moon. Prince Lestat had come out less than a week prior, and she was so thrilled to be back at the ball in New Orleans for Halloween that year. I miss her dearly. I'm so glad I have all of her books so I can visit with her at various stages of her life through her novels. Thank you for posting this gem.

I met her in 2013, Palm Springs, CA. She lived in the neighboring city of Rancho Mirage, just around the way from me. She was a sweet and genuine person who answered all of my questions at a local pastry and coffee shop. Her former assistant Becket was there, too.
