Advice from a native Egyptian; download the arabic keyboard on your mobile (i did with Russian when i thought of learning it), then open S.Note (for example); keeping writing and erasing letter to observe how they look alone vs combined in different positions in the word, as well as seeing tge correct spelling suggested by your mobile.
As a native Arabic speaker, my advice to everyone who's learning the Arabic language is: Learn Fusha or MSA ( it's a must thing ) first before trying to learn any Arabic dialect. Learning Fusha is like building your language fundamentals after that, you can learn any dialect by watching Arabic series, whether it is Egyptian, levant or gulf and if you afford traveling it would be nice to hear and learn the dialect from its native speakers. One thing to add about Arabic dialects is that most of the time they're not 100% going with grammar rules which make them hard to understand for beginners and that's why it's important to learn Fusha first because everyone can understand it.
Not useful. I want to understand when people speak and be able to communicate with my neighbors. The majority here (Germany) speak Levantine dialects. It is so much easier to learn than fusha. That one comes with the tv shows I watch and bible verses I read.
@@baum7des7lebens7 It is useful if you want to speak Arabic. But after what you said, you don't want to learn Arabic but a dialect, an Arabic language ! Confusing for Western people but it really is a language, as French, Spanish, Romanian, Italian are languages. In Italy it is quite similar if you know a bit. So it is deeply useful if you want to speak, read, and "live" the Arabic world
I am Russian and it's the third month I ve been learning arabic now. The language is so complicated, but that's what I like about it the most. It's so beautiful. I have friends from different arabic countries. They help me to boost my fluency. This is the language I want to be fluent in.
I’m Tunisian and the Tunisian dialect is only 100/95% understood in Algeria, Libya Mauritania and Morocco. The Tunisian and / or the Libyan dialects are the most “clear/understood” dialect of the maghreb but it’s still difficult for people outside of the maghreb region to understand 100% of what we’re saying. If I talk to a Kuwaiti or a Palestinian I have to change my dialect a little and use fus7a or I try and talk using some of their dialect (if I know it). Take this advice from a native Arabic speaker. If you ever meet someone who asks you specifically about which dialect to learn and not about wether to learn fu7a or a dialect, tell them the following. It’s best if they choose Levantine Arabic or Egyptian Arabic. Levantine is the most clear and easy to understand dialect across the entire Arab world (also the prettiest in my opinion especially Syrian). Egyptian is the most famous one and everyone knows it because Egyptian cinema is very popular in all the arab countries. If I wasn’t a native speaker and I had to choose which dialect, I’d pick Levantine because it’s closer to fus7a than Egyptian.
هيفاء I'm Algerian ,I kinda struggle when trying to understand Tunisian dialect😂 its really cute but you guys speak really quickly it almost sounds like you're singing
Syrian is the easiest to understand 🙌 algerian dialect is also simple but still contains some French terms we tend to switch or mix them up together😂 its impossible to speak Algerian Arabic without adding about 2 French words into the phrase
Cerine na omg no Algerian and Moroccan are way harder even for us Tunisians. All Arabs always say that especially Algerian and also Moroccan are impossible to understand but Tunisian is easier than Algerian and Moroccan. For me I always say that Syrians sound like they’re singing because they always make words longer. Your right the easiest Arabic dialect is definitely Syrian

Hello, I am Egyptian and already speak Arabic. Your video is great especially for beginners who need to understand where to start. Through your videos, you are breaking the stigma about Arabic being ugly an ugly. Much respect to you and your dedication to learn Arabic. BTW your Arabic is great!
I have two questions 1. Are the lyrics in Arabic typically in standard Arabic or the local dialect of the singer. 2. If the lyrics are typically in a local dialect, do you know any musicians who sing in the Levant dialect. I've found that musics helps me learn and remember vocabulary faster than anything else.
Hi I am from Syria and i can confirm that most of the songs are typically in local dialects with a very few exceptions. If you want musicians who sings in Levant Arabic, you can search for Fairouz (who is like Adele) , Faya Younan, Nasseif Zaitoun, Adham Alnaboulsi, Wael Kfoury, Nancy Ajram. Fares Karam and George Wassouf. (some of their songs have English subtitles) Hope that helps (:
I'm new here in your channel.. I'm trying to improve my arabic memory.. i'm in KSA now... I'm watching more and more video that teaches arabic...thanks for sharing.! Godbless...
Hi Mike, I'm moving to Saudi Arabia with work and will be there for a minimum of 2 years but feel it would be rude if i didn't attempt to learn the language. I'm British with no previous Arabic knowledge. Which is the way you learnt Arabic? Are programmes like Rosetta Stone worth considering? Within Saudi Arabia, I will be living not far from Mecca what is the best dialect for me to initially study. Many thanks and love your work Colin

Hi there! My father is from Tunisia, unfortunately he couldn't teach me the language, he is such a hardworking man, in order for me to have a great life he spend days and nights running his business. Nevertheless, I made a promise, to him and to my jaddah that someday I'd be able to speak arabic. I'm fluent in 4 other languanges, including english and french, mostly self-taught, with dedication, time and committement anything is possible, as you say. It's been 1 year since I started learning arabic and I truly love it, I can't stop!! My milestone is to master the language, and I know I will :) thank you for the recommendations and the channel suggestions!

Yes this is possible, but quran arabic is different from the arabic language in certain meanings of context, also go to a sheik or imam for lectures. They studied the holy quran.
Yes .I agree with you. Arabic language it hardest language at the world because each one word has six or seven or eight meaning ohh my god. Note I'm Arabian girl I'm from Iraq. If you want to learn Arabic language maybe you need 5 to 10 yrs or more. So it's to very hard for us arab.

Hey. Thanks for your videos. They are very motivational! Also, as a Japanese who used to live in the UK, it helps me remind myself what British accents sound like. lol So I guess it's like killing two birds with one stone!
Practice writing the letters while pronouncing them , then do the same for each word. repeat many times . after a few months i started copying and reading at the same time the quran, it helped me a lot in learning arabic
Awesome video! Been livin n d gulf for 2 decades and travelled much around d region, ur Arabic is amazing, sounds like a native speaker from each dialects u mentioned! Thanks for sharing ur precious knowledge, we appreciate very much Mickeeyyy. Sending love. X
Loved it, thank you !! My motivation is to learn how to read academic books in Arabic. Through that, I’d like to enhance intellectual exchanges between East and West, to personally get a bit decolonized from my Western education, and to write publications in Arabic to contribute to my cultural heritage and not end up in « Maghreb literature » section of a library if I choose to mainly write in French (my main language) about Arab matters, or not even Arab matters. I love the poet Mahmoud Darwish, he has been a big motivation to me, listening to him is such a delight. Do you have any tips for more advanced speakers who would like to read books in Arabic ? Easy children books through more complicated ones etc... I am thinking every day a bit more about joining your Patreon :P
Arabic is my native language. However, your tips can help me in learning English. I'm looking for an English speaking partner who wants to learn Arabic.
Hey mike thanks so much for the valuable videos just came across your channels. Would you recommend to learn with a native speaker via the tandem app? Should be a good idea right?
Mike Still Hey Mike great video! I have a question. How many words do you know in Arabic? Individual unrepeated words. You must know a few thousand. Have you been recording them? I know at least 8000. I’m trying to reach ten thousand by the time I graduate. I think once you know 5000 you should be advanced and can say anything but 3000 words later I find it surprising how much there still is to learn. I am curious what words I will learn on my way to ten thousand. I would think I know everything but there is always a word you don’t know. But at this point most of the time I am learning synonyms of words I already know as suppose to new concepts but often I come across a word that doesn’t have an equivalent in English. I learn about 2000 new words a year.

Hi Mike, at first I congratulated you for share your knowledge. I from Bolivia and I have several friends from Syria, Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, so I love arabic language, I've learned a little bit of arabic. They suggested me to learn "Pure Arabic" .... Fusha. That´s thue, there are differences between Fusha and dialects, for example: Yes in fusha is "na'am" , in magreb arabic it sounds like " woa" (like whaT without T), or the way to say numbers.... 50 "hamsuna" or "hamsina" . Ending, I appreciate you for help me to learn more. Grettings.
Hi I've been learning Arabic online since 2years so learned loads of words and phrases and grammar but I can't speak fluently please recommend a good channel with authentic Mustaf Arabic thank you Much appreciated
I don't think so.. It might be at first but I assume that once you understand the basics and refere to similar words and pronunciations then it's going to be easy to master it. I believe it's the same struggle for us Arabs with different English accents. Wishing you the best of luck.
as an arab the difference between two arabic dialects is as the same differences between Irish english and for example american english so its completely different
I've started following Hanan AlFardan on RUclips. Love her channel for Emirati dialect! Also, may I know, in the Egyptian dialect how is ق pronounced when it comes in the beginning of a word?
I have heard Arabic speakers from many parts of the Middle East but the most beautiful, gentle and understandable one is the Syrian dialect. I can distinctly understand the words when they speak. With Saudis and many others, you can hardly understand a word. Also the Syrian dialect is very pretty and doesn't have too much of that deep throaty sounds. It's more balanced and nicer to hear.

This was really insightful! I fell in love with Arabic after talking to my friends on Voicely who are from the Middle East.
Hello, I am Egyptian and already speak Arabic. Your video is great especially for beginners who need to understand where to start. Through your videos, you are breaking the stigma about Arabic being ugly an ugly. Much respect to you and your dedication to learn Arabic. BTW your Arabic is great!
I have two questions
(some of their songs have English subtitles)
Hope that helps (:

Hi Mike, I'm moving to Saudi Arabia with work and will be there for a minimum of 2 years but feel it would be rude if i didn't attempt to learn the language. I'm British with no previous Arabic knowledge. Which is the way you learnt Arabic? Are programmes like Rosetta Stone worth considering? Within Saudi Arabia, I will be living not far from Mecca what is the best dialect for me to initially study.
Many thanks and love your work

So it's to very hard for us arab.

hello world I’m fluent in English and I want to learn Arabic

Sir, can you help me
Hey mike thanks so much for the valuable videos just came across your channels. Would you recommend to learn with a native speaker via the tandem app? Should be a good idea right?
thank you for joining in addition mike
السلام عليكم صديقي انت فعلا انسان رائع و يبدو عليك انك تعلمت اللغة جيدا و حتى اتقنت لهاجاتها لكن اتحداك ان تمرن فمك على نطق حرف ظ/ض لانه موجود في لغتنا

After getting to a reasonable level in fusHa, is it confusing to switch over to study dialect?
I don't think so.. It might be at first but I assume that once you understand the basics and refere to similar words and pronunciations then it's going to be easy to master it. I believe it's the same struggle for us Arabs with different English accents. Wishing you the best of luck.
as an arab the difference between two arabic dialects is as the same differences between Irish english and for example american english so its completely different
