Reminder! In expert mode, you drop 75% (instead of Classic's 50%) of your money on death, And enemies can steal your coins! Not to worry though, enemies that have grabbed coins will not despawn until you exit the world (unless they're 'rare enemies', which will despawn if they get too far away) and killing them makes them drop the stolen money, so as long as you track down where you die and kill the enemies, You will get your money back!

Hey Captain! The different tiers of metal ores go like this. Pre-Hardmode: Tin = Copper Lead = Iron Tungsten = Silver Gold = Platinum Demonite = Crimtane Hardmode: Cobalt = Palladium Orichalcum = Mythril Titanium = Adamantine FYI they're not exactly the same. they have slight statistical differences, and some of them have different set bonuses, but I don't have them memorized. not sure if youve relised but you picked up the umbrella from the first chest which is both a melee weapon and the ability to fall slowly usefull for falling down big open caves or gliding over a gap
Tips & Tricks: >This time make sure you *pick up all chests* you find in your travels. Using different types of chests for different types or qualities of items can be *very* useful when building your sorting system!! For example, one of the vine-wrapped chests from inside the giant trees for nature stuff, one of those blue underwater chests for fishing stuff, gold chests for ores and bars, etc. Having named chests is great, but having named, visually distinct chests is _much_ better. I always know where my stuff is; "Oh, good gear is in the 2nd shadow chest from the left", etc. >Use Spelunker potions as soon as you have access to them. They *dramatically* speed up the process of grinding for ores, heart crystals and treasure chests. >You'll want a place to grow Daybloom, Waterleaf, Nightbloom & Blinkroot for potions, since you'll be needing a lot of them. Daybloom & Nightbloom should only be harvested when blooming (or you won't get seeds), and Waterleaf should be placed just submerged in water (or you won't get seeds when harvesting). You can use the planter boxes sold by the Dryad, or just plant them on regular dirt/grass. >It's also very worth buying the Miner's Helmet from the Merchant (aka "Meatball"), as it acts as a constant light source, and for early game exploring (until you get a light pet) it's low defense value isn't that big of a deal since most armors won't be much better anyway.
Waterleaf doesn't require being submerged anymore, it now blooms during rain. Fireblossom blooms around sunset for a few hours and no longer requires lava. Staff of Regrowth is amazing for herb farming (tip: you can craft it into a very good axe which retains the staff's function).
I think he was told to do all of this already, still good to reiterate though. Also water leaf doesn’t need to be in water, and he also said he thinks he might want buffs in expert mode so here’s to someone teaching him farming and fishing.
