just wanted to ask someone with experience.. are angel fish as aggressive with other aquarium fish as people make out? For example, I keep a beta sorority, but people told me they would kill each other, but they don’t even bother each other, so I was wondering if there’s anything similar to this in regard to angelfish

What I love about my triangles (that’s what I call my angles) is the way they move their body through a 90 degree plane, to face the top of the aquarium, when I add food (or my WC refill hose).

Angelfish are like one of the most gentle cichlids, I know you can put these with the discus, blue acaras, the rams, keyhole cichlids, rainbow cichlids, the flag cichlids and what's the other small gentle cichlid? I forgot the name. Oh yeah now I got the name, the apistogramma.

As always, your cichlid tank with those gorgeous Roseline sharks is my favorite tank! In my 75 gallon I have my one Geophagus Topajos, one Koi Angelfish, Bristlenose pleco, two Pearl Gouramis, and some Dwarf Neon Rainbows. Also one random Platy (she just needed a home:). I have drift wood, live and fake plants, and some beautiful petrified wood rocks. I need some rainbow fish as a few passed but otherwise it seems to be a really nice setup. I also have black sand and hope to get some Sterbai Corydoras. Along the way your videos have greatly inspired and taught me alot. Thanks:)

@lemonlizard1 it's gone well. Stick to 3 or 4 and a bunch of dither fish and plants/cover. Sometimes angels can be jerks and nip. But I've found that like 15 to 20 cardinal, rummynose, or black neons work well. You can get away with regular neon tetras if you grow them out for a few months (same with the rest, honestly)(you can also get some electric blue acaras or even keyhole cichlids. And try to get younger and local angels. You will have more success. Make sure you get some plants growing (any work, honestly, but mine tend to nip at the fluffy high-light-required ones.
Don't forget about plants and lower flow.

Hi, I really enjoyed your video and I just subscribed. I have had angelfish for a few years now and have trouble with fish death when I do my water change. I was doing a 25% water change once a week and then decided to just stop and top up the tank when water was required and decrease my water changes to once a month. Since I have done that, I have not had any fish die however, now my nitrates are getting up to around 40. I did do a water change, about 20%. I also put in half the amount of prime that I was putting in and half the amount of stability. I have a 53 gallon tank and I was putting in one cap of prime and two caps of stability. I should probably do another water change for the high nitrates, but I am afraid too because I don't want any of my fish to die. I guess I should let you know that I have three small angels, one large angel two coloured fish, I'm sorry I don't remember the name of them and three plecostamus. Any suggestions?

Depending on the type of Angel, depends on the wayer parameters.
I use tap water to fill or exchange the Angel tank. The GH is high.. the ammonia is below 20 ppm and i have 4 maybe t decent sized live plants sharing their space within..
So far and after a month of owning them, they have grown at least 2x Thier size.
Proper filtration and places to hide are key features one really needs to consider prior to buying these beautiful fish.
Also, 80 degree water is about average.

I love your videos...your deeper substrate of sand as well is what really helps become it's own filter and keeps your plants happy and fish as well... ammonia and nitrates are processed through it...nitrites are nutrients in your water that plants need n love and they can run high w out harming your fish...I haven't even done a water change in three months just add due too evaporation and zero ammonia zero nitrates n around 40ppm nitrites...been watching father fish a bit n he's right when he says biology is what ya should follow n my water has been great w happy fish n plants.

Wait I have a question can anglefish go with severums, I definitely know the bigger aggressive cichlids like oscars for example are not allowed.

    • @CichlidBros
      @CichlidBros  2 года назад +1

Usually it will be fine, although severums could bully them some. I wouldn’t do it in anything under 75 gallons though

@@CichlidBros oh cool thanks for the info, I always thought severums where like gentle giants. What about the hybrid parrot cichlids?

    • @deathcaster3006

If you introduce both angelfish and severum together while they're young, chances are there would be no problem. But everything depends upon personality. Veiltail angelfish are more docile and platinums are more on aggression. I've 8 angelfish and 3 severum. Only 1 platinum angelfish chases severums but I don't think it's a big problem as angelfish can't harm a full grown severum

Hi! I'm new into angel fish. I was getting concerned about 2 of my angel's dorsal fin getting pointy by closing and it opens up. I aw yours do the same. I had a few others that did that and they died. I definitely don't want that to happen this time around. They're beautiful. I have 8 in a 20 gallon and 6 are about 2 inches and 2 are about 2.5 inches. I have 5 small catfish. One is 2 inches and 4 are about 1 inch. I have plants, 1 40 and 1 20 gallon spon sponge filter. I do water changes once per week and sometimes twice. Hopefully within the next 30 days I'm gonna have built a 75 gallon double stand. I already have the aquariums and sponge filters. I even have canister filters if I go that route but the sponge filters seem cooler. I hope can make it all happen.
