"Tribe" is just amazing. One of my all time favorites in the history of hip hop.The upright bass and literal jazz references in the lyrics combined with futuristic/ancient cadences are unique. The lyrical artistry, skill, and discipline are over the top, and the pressing is OUTRAGEOUS. I've owned this since the day it came out on CD and couldn't be happier that it got the serious remaster and 45 cut. Smart, top shelf hip hop.
Based on your video and glorious review I reactivated my VMP membership after 18 months. I canceled my previous membership after 3 frustrating years of receiving damaged jackets, noisy vinyl and uninspiring selections. Anyway, I decided to give VMP another chance and this ATCQ release is amazing. I could not agree more with your praise. Thanks for the heads up on this one especially. I love it.
I was hesitant to join Vinyl Me, Please but I have been a subscriber for 5 months now and I am hooked. I don’t understand why MoFi and Analogue Productions aren’t expanding their releases with more modern releases. How many times are people going to buy the same albums over and over? Most of my Vinyl Me, Please releases sound great!
I received a mail couple of weeks ago from Vinyl me please. They building their own pressing plant somewhere in Denver. So in future, all of these releases will be pressed there. Cheers Michael
Michael, I am always frustrated with the non-poly-lined inner sleeves but as you mentioned in another video, the sleeves are printed and possibly cannot be lined. However, I do use the same inner sleeves that you do from Vinyl Storage Solutions. I find they easily slide into the provided inner sleeves of the albums. They are a bit taller than the cardboard sleeves and, therefore, can allow the record to be inserted, easily.
Tribe Called Quest’s first couple of albums are fantastic. Low End Theory and Midnight Marauders deserve the Mofi treatment just like Run DMC’s Raising Hell received. Two others I would put on that list are Beastie Boys, Paul’s Boutique, and Nas, Illmatic
Low End Theory sounds amazing! Ryan K Smith hit a home run again. I've been buy VMP releases on the secondary market for about 2 years.... and this one finally cracked me, and I signed up! It's just beautiful. I've listened to this album a hundred times on CD, but this is much better. I really hope they release Midnight Marauders too. Other notable VMP releases so far for me are The Meters - Rejuvenation and Gábor Szabó- Dreams.
My TCQ jacket arrived with corner damage, which stinks… but everything is intact and I plan on comparing it to my 96 pressing this weekend. Can’t wait!
Ordered the Phineas Newborn Jr release based on this recommendation and the music is fantastic but I unfortunately got a bad pressing with a large amount of surface noise. GZ is just so inconsistent. I have gotten some dead quiet vinyl from them, but also have gotten some of the worst sounding new records. Will ask VMP to swap it out.
LOL! VMP sound to me more and more like Playstation Network subscriptions. Sometimes you get a nice free game. Most of the time it hits you with junk. I am sorry but I am glad I don’t own VMP records yet. Cheers!

I got my hands on the The Low End Theory and it sounds incredible. So glad I picked it up before it sold out.

The first album is the best, Peoples Instinctive paths, but first 3 are fantastic.
Hell yeah! A MoFi of Paul's Boutique would be dooope! 💥
Illmatic for sure! Maybe Outkast "Aquemini" and I'm a Beastie Boys "Check Your Head" guy, but tomato, to-mah-toe.... 😁✌️
Michael,
I can’t imagine how good that Tribe record sounds on your system !
Looking forward to next month’s Patsy Cline country selection.
😂 Loved the review of the Miranda Lambert album.

Yes! The Meters were a revelation
So cool glasses

That was likely Newborn's first LP.
This Chanel should be renamed ' Vinyl LP Packaging & Marketing Daily'
Low End Theory has already sold out☹️

Is vinyl storage solutions still making clear inner sleeves that you showed on Low End Theory?
A Tribe Called Quest The Low......, ist bestellt. 😋
That Low End Theory looks nice. There is a 45RPM box of that coming out at some point that looks interesting. Hard pass on the Miranda Lambert.
The Tribe is nice. And it's 45 RPM as well.
I was really looking forward to the Miranda Lambert release. The cd sounds awful, so I hope that the vinyl release is at least a small improvement.
🍻🍻🍻🍻
Niiice
Wow, so nice ...
thanks
