  • ESPN MLB reporter Buster Olney tells Rich Eisen why the Brewers surprisingly traded closer Josh Hader to the Padres and if San Diego has a chance to land Juan Soto from the Nationals, if Soto’s possibly leaving in free agency after two years could deter teams like the Padres, Dodgers or Cardinals from giving up a bevy of prospects for the Nats’ slugger, says that the Angels never had any intention of trading Shohei Ohtani this summer but that could change once his free agency approaches, and why the Seattle Mariners could be the most surprising team once the MLB playoffs roll around in October.

Juan soto, who has batted over 300 in a full season once, had over 100 rbi once, season high is 12 sb, and is currently batting 246, turns down 440 mil? What would ted williams be worth?

Its incomparable, Ohtani is the best MLB player now, he has more homeruns than Soto, and Ohtani is an ACE. OHTANI BETTER THAN SOTO, NOT EVEN CLOSE!

Soto imo is the most over rated person in last ~7 years of trade market. I hope the Cardinals don't trade for him

Padres definitely needed a closer. Rogers was shaky at best, and they cant afford to blow any 0th inning lead. Didn't use Rogers last night, so I figured something was up. Melvin the manager was ejected, so I was thinking that might have been the reason.

Give me McKenzie Gore, CJ Abrams and I’ll take Eric Hosmers terrible contract off your hands. Give me that and you get Soto. That’s what I would say if I was the Nats GM…

Soto is overrated. MLB is hyping him so much.
