Speaking as someone with older parents who never divorced despite everything not always being easy, I think this story would be more common if given the chance. The petty things that sometimes lead to divorce when you're younger tend to matter way less past the age of 65-70 years old and having that person you love and know so intimately is all that really matters.

So sweet! My parents have been divorced since 1993 but I have been praying and believing that they will remarry soon! Shortly after praying that prayer my sister spoke to my dad and asked him to call my mom and they speak on a daily basis!!!! it is so amazing to see! Glory to God!🙌

It's amazing how much each daughter looks just like the parents. Rachel is the spitting image of the mother, and Caroline is the spitting image of the father. Beautiful story. Beautiful family.

That's so sweet. Sometimes this happens. I knew a lady who re met her ex husband at their daughter's wedding . They had been divorced over 30 years. They started dating again and ended up remarrying.

Multiple divorced couples at my church have ended up remarried to each other. 💕 and I would encourage anyone who is considering divorce or already gone through a divorce to attend a divorce care at a local Bible believing church or online. Not with the goals to reunite, because that’s actually not the goal of that program, but with the goal to personally do what you can do about you and not the other person when it comes to considering or already being divorced. I also know others who went through the program, who didn’t reunite with their ex but they admit that it helped them work on themselves, so they were better equipped for their second marriage to last.
So happy for this family.
Parent trap is my favorite movie and even more of my mom's favorite so I cannot wait to show her this I'm so happy for them🎉🎉🎉
Divorced parents getting remarried was only half the story of Parent Trap lol…. The twins being separated and reuniting was key to the story…
@jordyb57:they didn’t say it was entirely the same story because it doesn’t have to be and anyway the twins were split up because their birth parents were divorced and one twin was living with the dad and one twin was living with the mom. Also the twins parents in the movie split up when the twins were babies

This is not parent trap at all. The majority of the story of parent trap is the twins being separated. It sounds like the adults brought themselves back together themselves.
"They parent trapped each other" One of the daughters brings this up, not all of what you're saying. It is similar, IMO.

covid brought me and my ex back together and we ended up getting married, our 2 kids were so happy especially when we made it 3. lol.

It’s not that rare. Someone I knew had two younger half-brothers and an even younger full brother. His parents had separated, each had another son, reunited and had another together.

I always love to watching T.V., listening to music on a radio and other stuff just like in a movie "Parent Trap!"
Wow, they each have a copy of each other. One daughter is the copy of the mom, and the other, the dad.
Once you have loved and made a lifetime commitment to a person, it is nearly impossible to stop loving to a certain degree. However, I feel like the reasons for a divorce are generally very well thought out and valid. You can marry impulsively, but divorce is a longer process. I’m not sure it should be reversed. But I wish them the best going forward. You just never know.

When our children we re at home back them. I started a special situation, where we had a weekly then monthly family board meeting. Every member was a dedicated. I was the president, my wife the secretary treasurer and the children the delegates. Every one had a voice. Sometimes the kids made more sense than us and their item would win. This took all the squeaks out of our house forever. We all knew where we stood. At times our kids suggestion made more sense then our.

They never said it was 100% like the movie but one daughter/one twin did say their parents parent trapped themselves when they decided to take the advice of another family member who told them it would be a good idea to quaratine together while Covid was going on. The ending is still the same though since the parents get remarried after being divorced for decades. Also they didn’t say it was 100% the same they just said it was a similar story since it has the same ending as the parent trap where a split up family with twins comes back together

This is not "The Parent Trap" at all. The movie it's most similar to is "It's complicated". Also, the twins being separated was key to "The Parent Trap". Lol😂

Without speaking to the dynamics of this particular family, which I don't know, I will say that couples don't try hard enough to stay together and remember why they got married in the first place. My wife and I have had a few rough patches in 38 years of marriage, but never have I ever considered splitting up, and I don't think she has, either.

@vintage5729:it is though since the parents parent trapped themselves in that situation since they eventually followed the advice of another family member who told them it would be a good idea if their family all quarantined together during Covid. It still involves twins and a split up family they didn’t say it was entirely like the parent trap movie just that its similar since it involves twins aka 2 sisters having a split up parents and a split up family and the family comes back together in the end just like the movie since the parents get remarried in the end after they’ve been divorced for decades.it’s still a similar story

I watched the movie 100 times while growing up. Today, july 2024 i open youtube and see a photo of Lindsay Lohan and a blond girl witha scription "lindsay reunites with the real hallie" so I google and realized the movie was inspired in a real story.....and ended up here.....crazy...
