@@Rangersjp Yeah its almost laughable to think about. We have all watched him grow since we watched videos of him jumping out of pool full of 4' of water from a standing position to playing in the '14 playoffs to growing into a top line beast. @@pingamalinga absolutely. People rag on him because he doesn't play a really physical game, but that's not what his game is about. It's about speed, it's about cycling, and getting to the dirty spots. Sure he could up the physicality at times, but same can be said about almost anyone. You can tell the pride he has in his team by the way he supports his teammates, leads by example and always the last to leave the ice. He's always been a hell of a Ranger.

@@pingamalinga I meant physical as in he doesn't tend to throw the body a ton, and people always complain about it. That's just not what his game is about. And that's ok. I need Kreider to do what Kreider does best. Cycle, get to the front and get scrappy goals any way he can.

The headlines in the NY Post was “we will win” in 94…. Then backs it up with 3 goals and an assist was the stuff of legends…. I never forgot that game, but the first period Richter played amazing and held the Devils to two goals (Devils were flying in period 1),allowing Messier and Kovalev to kick things off in that second period. Till this day, I never seen a more hard fought battle in a 7 game series than the Rangers-Devils in 94. Brodeur was a rookie too, played like a seasoned veteran.

Winning that game was nothing short of a miracle. They were done. Down 2-0 in the first period with the Devils swarming all over their offensive zone (and they came very close to going down 3-0), I stopped watching for a while because I didn't want to see the implosion. I still can't believe they won that game.

@@humanbeing2420 I think i had several heart attacks that series…… lol. You are tight, they were done. I did manage to keep watching the game, but I do remember, after that first period, feeling as if, here we go….. more 1940 chants for years to come. Not that that team gave me a lack of confidence, the Devils were just that good in period 1.

Ya, I think it was Boomer who said..... "Messiers performance was the best single persons performance in all history of all sports." In my opinion, Messier is the greatest player to ever play the game. I'd put him on my team before Gretzky...

@@brutalplanet1708 I completely agree! I recently got into this debate on another post, stating, Messier is the best all around player in the games history (most complete). There were no weaknesses in his game whatsoever. Of course, Gordie Howe is right there too…..
