I was thinking how much I like when Lucifer is depicted in angelic blues, since pre-fallen it isn't too common a theme, then you went and mentioned it, lol. If you ever have the opportunity to travel and see the original Cabanel you worked from, it's worth it. The palette surrounding the central figure is very ethereal, generating a strong contrast with the subject that creates a sense of corporeality. You can feel the fury emanating from the canvas to he point it almost feels like he's about to move from the scene in the flesh. (And he also has an edgy emo tear).
