Thanks Clay for all your great videos and being the great man you are. 😊 Well it’s 4:33am here so I better get back to sleep and watch the second half when I wake up.
You just be you, Clay I think everyone here is here because they enjoy watching you and being part of your,Donna, dogs and the whole teams lives. Not to mention some very special people as your friends. Not everyday normies like us (especially us older, almost 70yo folks) get to "be" with a real life top fuel dragster driver, his family, friends and team. Just be you. Like always......
@claymillican25 you welcome. The fact that your channel is not full of profanity and crude jokes is such a plus and rare today. The giving to animal shelters/ rescue is suge a huge plus. I lost my Boerbull dog to a Cape Cobra bite in the face at the end of December. He was a beautiful, gentle soul to my wife and I, and a terror to any outsider that wasn't "introduced" by us. Magnificint guard dog and companion. Working around my small homestead he was my constant companion and protector for just on 9 years and his loss has left a great big hole in my heart. So to see you with your two, and know you help, its good because not many do. Heck, they dont even help their fellow human beings. Kudos to you and Donna........blessings from South Africa
Thank Clay for every awesome videos !. Nice to see the Dentley coming closer to completion. Safe trip to wherever you go in a few days and looking forward to see you on the next one !
Loved the story time video! It's great to hear how your journey to top fuel progressed and about the connections you made along the way. Also, you did a pretty decent job with that portion of a song for a guy who can't sing, I knew exactly what song you were reminded of! Which probably makes sense since we're pretty close in age...you said you graduated in 84 on a recent video, it was 85 for me. Rock on Clay, looking forward to chatting with you at Brainerd in a few short months...
Those Gates heat shrink clamps are the chit. Can't think of all the times they would have made a project easier, cars, equipment.. gotta get some. Hard to believe heat shrink would have the strength to provide the necessary clamping force. I use heat shrink for a lot of off-label things, but I have switched to only adhesive lined. If I need color, I add no-glue colored shrink on top. Shrink is great for stopping/preventing rope fray; if you have a flexible light or magnifier that won't hold the weight up, cover it w/ shrink. If you need an insulated alligator clip, slip some no-glue over the clip & carefully shrink the wire end. I'm sure there's more... just can't recall.
Yes I enjoy the little sit down stories of your history. Have to say those Gates shrink clamp things are neat. I haven't seen or heard about them before, thanks for that knowledge, may need to use them. Now that you signed the broken window everyone will want that office, ha ha.
When I do my plans for work I split it into the 3 planes by colour, super easy to read when it’s not only one colour and the entire schematic. Like this you can even print pages for getting very specific and staying focused in the spaghetti. Carrying on watching
Interesting video and I kind of do admire how you never stop tinkering with Dently and the other cars in your shop. Those Gates shrink tubing powergrips are a great invention!! The only thing I am confused about is how that glass window got cracked when you did your warmup outside...I loved the warmup as always. So glad you all got dismissed from jury duty too. Thanks for sharing as always Clay!
Life is making memories, collecting memories and reflecting on memories. When you leave this world, hopefully, you leave only good memories for others to cherish. Love the chats, and photos.
Great stories! & yes, more please. It would be sad to lose any of these, as time goes by... Kool clamps! Definitely need to look into them & see just what sizes are available. Are these exclusive to Wire Care, or are there other outlets? Thanx !
I really enjoy all your videos. You are a very interesting person. I don't mind at all when you start rambling on THAT just makes your videos more interesting.
ASE Master Tech and former NASCAR crew chief here, as long as she works and you don't let the magic smoke out, you are good to go! By the way, I enjoy watching your content. Keep it coming. I will make it a point to come see you at Bristol. I'll be hanging out with Eric Latino.
Clay definitely share more of your history in the stories, those hose clamps look great but I would like to know how they hold up over time!!! Glad to see you getting some upgrades done on Dently!!! Can’t wait to see how everything goes on the track with the work you’ve done!!! Keep the amazing content coming and we’ll see you in the next one!!! Glad you got out of the jury duty!!! And we love the ramblings you sharing with us!!
Great video. My projects are like yours. Start one thing and end up fixing 6 others before the first one I started. Really enjoy the products you find. See you in Bradenton, Gainsville and Bristol.
Used those Gates clamps about 8 years ago. Not only easy to use but they clamp well and last. Not the easiest to get off if needed, but holding power is awesome. Visually very classy also with no clamps visible or in the way.
I do love how the clamps looks. I did see where they have a tool for removing them. I also saw where you can take a soldering iron and get them off without hurting the hose. Haven’t done that yet. Hope I don’t have to lol
Hey Clay, A lot of us would like to know how Y'all got started. I used to watch you when you were running IHRA Top fuel. It seems like you were always in the winners circle there. It's nice to know how you got started in Top Fuel and who helped you along the way. Thank You Donna!!! I used to have a 1966 Mustang that I ran on the street, more or less light to light. I stayed away from high speed races. Used to be the quickest in the town where I lived up North. I enjoyed that car and wish I never would have had to sell it. It was a coupe, I embarrassed quite a few unsuspecting chevy, they thought they had more cubes they could beat me. I would leave them at the line. Little ole 302 with a lot of my help. It was fun, now I drive a 1996 Nissan 200sx 1.6L Fuel injected, 5 speed all stock except for the air box where the filter goes, I kept the Filter in the box, but cut the bottom out of the box. I bet it picked up a few ponies, she really quick now. I put in E3 plugs into the 4 valve head. It's fun, but no where as quick as my Mustang was. GOD BLESS You Clay and hopefully a lot of Wins this year. Oh Yeah, Thank Rick Ware for us, for letting you "Stomp On That Loud Pedal"
Oh and Leigh kept us updated on the racing going on and the only thing missing is you guys at the track while it was happening but then you wouldn’t have been able to get Dently ready for the next outing with him!!
Yeah I remember watching that video when the window cracked. Nobody seemed to mind though, if I remember correctly ! And I'm with ya on today's wiring. Why that whole gaggle of wires just to run 3 bulbs in the cargo light cluster ? Back in the '60's when I started playing with cars, I could've started from scratch and wired the entire car I think. Today ? NOPE !! Can't even understand the ones that are already there ! Hey, those Gates clamps are pretty neat. Only drawback of course is they're not reuseable, but nice clean look though. Ooooo--maybe put a little LED light down there so you can show them off 😂! Ok, waiting for your next adventure !!
Clay and guys, y'all rock! I'd never seen a hose clamp like that before. Nice job. He was guilty, and you couldn't be impartial. Sad that we live in these times(I hope that's what you meant). Peace ❤
You are easy to listen to. You have nice clean content. John Force is a great racer, great business man. But you can only listen to him for a short time. He is funny though.
Time 1156 electrical The best way to learn automotive electrical / electronics is to take a basic electronics course at a community college because this gives you insight as to how things work not just how to test them in an automotive environment. Night / weekend classes are your target as they are generally not for credit and don't have any real tests. Collect some automotive parts / connectors for these parts / wiring diagrams and talk to the instructor about your goals. This way these parts can generally be powered up on the bench for testing. Even bringing some failed parts will aid in learning what a bad part looks like.
Time 1512 Using a digital meter for diagnostics. These don't load the circuit very much and can cloud diagnostics at they can pickup stray voltage that won't otherwise carry a load. An incandescent test light works better as it loads the circuit leading to a dim or non lit condition if you hit stray voltage. Some use a power probe that automatically changes from sensing ground / power but I have not used one.
Clay, I'm an electrician. If the negative if the battery is connected to the chassis. You don't need to search for it. Just put a wire to any exposed steel of the body.
I miss being at the track and feeling the throttle whack that lifted you off of the ground. S.A.E vs Southern Ingenuity.... hum🤔...edit; Yes, the story time was awesome Clay, I would enjoy more... Jury duty sucks, but it is a duty that I have served. Stomping that loud petal every chance I get...lol. Take care, we'll see ya on the next !
Jury duty.. I got the letter recently and had to call in, but that’s as far as it went. No Bradenton this year? I didn’t see you on the entry list. I’m surprised being you did so well last year, and it’s semi close to Rick’s shop.

I still want you to write a book, I know a ghost writer, if you are interested. Just let me know, I think she would be interested. It would be a meaningful project for all of us, you have a really interesting life with many people contributing along the way!
I was the Chief Bailiff for a municipal court. I understnd the frustration with the fact people have to serve jury duty for a month...no one enjoys that. The problem is if they served for only one week it would mean bringinig in a new jury pool of 30-50 people in every week instead of once a month which would be very difficult. The logistics of operating a court can be...challenging.
Jury duty for a month is a uncalled hardship upon most American workers. I am self employed and I jury duty committed such as that would finically ruin me. Fortunately for me my state jury duty is 1 week or less and the sheriffs department has a very efficient system set up to handle the case load and the jurors required
Play are you did on your ear hoses was remove the hose clamps you still have the same Connection in the same place you need to cut the hoses in a different place where are the clamp or your clamping device will not be interfering with nothing if you were to run a straight piece of hose through that area by the starter and then that would be fine you wouldn't have no other bulge to mess with the gates claps that you have are great fixture but put them in a different place clay
You really don't need to tell us to like and subscribe. It's a given. Love to enjoy life with you.
Clay, I've used the gates heat shrink hose clamps and they work very well! As always thanks for taking us along.
Thanks for the shout out brother!
You’re welcome! I appreciate all your help !!!
Gates is the way to go!
I like how you are getting it fixed 😅
Thanks Clay for all your great videos and being the great man you are. 😊 Well it’s 4:33am here so I better get back to sleep and watch the second half when I wake up.

I love hotrods and stories. This is the channel for me. Thanks Clay.
Ramble on. The TCI part was great. Always enjoy your non-nitro videos. Love the incite and back sstory's! Keep on.
Thank Clay for every awesome videos !. Nice to see the Dentley coming closer to completion. Safe trip to wherever you go in a few days and looking forward to see you on the next one !

Clay love your story time's 👍 I 'd be up for a good 1 hr 30 min or longer story and history lesson. Can't wait to see Dently back in action.
I’m glad you enjoyed it! Dentley will be back soon.
Throttle wacks are cool, ask Jimmy Dale, he`ll tell ya.🤣 Thanks for sharing Dentley`s progress Clay. Those heat shrink clamps , pretty cool idea.💪👍
More rambling! More products we haven't heard of! Great vid!
Glad you enjoyed it appreciate you watching 😊
Throttle whacks are awesome Clay, they should be mandatory.
They really should be 😁

I'll have to try that!
That jury case sounded unsettling. I'm glad there are people like you out there spreading the good.

Bummed you missed sick week but dentley will be better & go faster!!!!!

I really enjoyed your last video your story time that was wonderful I enjoy everything you do on your videos but I want to get back to burning Nitro
Thanks Clay!!
Great video little bit of everything. Love those gates shrink clamps. And your stories are always fun. Have a wonderful day 🙏
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Clay and guys, y'all rock! I'd never seen a hose clamp like that before. Nice job. He was guilty, and you couldn't be impartial. Sad that we live in these times(I hope that's what you meant). Peace ❤
The best way to avoid jury duty is to state you are all in favor of capital punishment on the application mailer the next time you get the notice.
True dat!
You are easy to listen to. You have nice clean content. John Force is a great racer, great business man. But you can only listen to him for a short time. He is funny though.
Thanks! I appreciate it.
Probably going to need the heater and ac when you're running Sick Week 2026...😎💪🏁👍🔥💥
If you are planning on running those heater hoses where they were I would wrap them in heat tape. The outer surface will prevent abrasion/wear
Your ole buddy is going to have to retire from being retired you keep putting him to work 😂😂😂

Can’t wait to see you guys in Bradenton on the 8th
We will not be in Bradenton this year. We are testing at Gainesville before the Gators 🐊
@ dam my camp is 30 min from Gainesville might have to make the trip to see you guys always wanted to meat you love your energy
We need to start a Go Fund Me to pay Clay's gas bill before Donna cuts it off! 😂
Luv ya Buddy! SOTLP..😊
#25, great plaque
Thank You!!! That’s actually not a plaque it is a panel out of Dentley’s console.
I miss being at the track and feeling the throttle whack that lifted you off of the ground. S.A.E vs Southern Ingenuity.... hum🤔...edit; Yes, the story time was awesome Clay, I would enjoy more... Clay, isn't that kind of like when you use the paddle to shift?😊
Jury duty.. I got the letter recently and had to call in, but that’s as far as it went. No Bradenton this year? I didn’t see you on the entry list. I’m surprised being you did so well last year, and it’s semi close to Rick’s shop.
Will you be at the Pro Superstar Shootout this year
Brian @ Musclecarsolutions says you an ok bird so if he Brian says it you know it’s gotta be true great stuff fellers.
Clay- You aren’t going to the Pro Shootout this year?
Those would be awesome if you blow a heater hose when you travel small to pack in the tool box
Yes Good luck with that! Are you going with longer hoses or you going to cut them?😊❤
It is all good stuff
If you move them how are you going to short out your starter? 😂😂😂😅😅😂😂😂😅😅😅 jk keep up the great work
Big job big difference WOW the flo is importentet
"4 doors, more hose" @4:33 is the most CHRISTIAN way I've heard that...
Hello from West Tennessee y'all. Hello Clay, haven't talked to you since school at Munford high school. Tell Donna hello for me.
Tookaholt, TN
have u finnished that other top fuel car for cleetus
Have a great day racing family 💪🏼🏁
We, who follow your channel, love you dearly FOR JUST SHOWING UP and showing us "Wazzup" .. thataintgonnachange... so....gettin' the backstory for me is priceless and hope to hear more ! ... it's not always where we are but how we got there .... thanks Clay.
Why is the heater hoses not one piece instead of two or three pieces.
Good question. I don’t know why Dodge did it that way.
Jury of peers I do not think there are many cases dealing with stomp on the loud pedal.
Well it’s dam hot in Australia
Will Dentley ever get the Honor of sporting a #25 sticker?
My wife use to tell me all the time you are easily entertained. yup
Cool
Why not just get a roll of heater hose. Least it will all be one piece and not have to worry about a connection.
This big truck will not exceed the the limit for a while 18 gears to go though
The fact they called you Is insane. Normally they send it in the mail. You can't be held countable for not receiving it.
Clay how much you got left for your CAREER we all get there at some point ?????
SAE = Society of Automotive Engineers
Use the same hoses clay just cut them in a different area and put your other hose on where it's a safe area that's all you have to do
😊
I still want you to write a book, I know a ghost writer, if you are interested. Just let me know, I think she would be interested. It would be a meaningful project for all of us, you have a really interesting life with many people contributing along the way!

All of us country people knows what "took a holt" is! For all you others, I will explain, That means It aint goin come off, ever!
First! What’s up clay!
Hey hey!
They are preformed hoses made in 2 pieces and the joint is about 1/2 of the length
