- Happy Halloween, everyone! In this video, I'll go over 13 logos that maintain a "Nightmare" status on the CLG Wiki, but don't live up to that level in my opinion. This is not some form of activism to change the logos' scare factors, but rather to just explain what ones I don't think hit the mark. This is all OPINIONS, and if you're offended by the results of this countdown then please...don't be.

NONE of the logos belonging to major companies in this video belong to me and are used under the Copyright Act of 1976.
Note: if you’re scared of Splaat from Klasky Csupo, then you’re scared of every image of a splodge of ink or paint with eyes and a mouth glued on!
Or maybe because of the uncanny valley, the more realistic it looks but not having proper human proportions, the more a person feels uncomfortable.
According to the veiwers.... The eyes and mouth resemble a humans but the proportions are a literal square, and the animation was also too realistic, thus petrefying the veiwers. Including me when I was young!
Also the ripoffs for example...
7:21 this is the least scariest to veiwers. Because it looks cartoonish and natural.
7:19 this is slightly more scary than the last, because of the realistic mouth.
7:20 this is really petrefying to veiwers especially since it is missing its sclera's
And don't forget the warped french music as background.

Some curiosities about this video.
-This isn't rated PG like the beginning says, it's more around PG-13.
-There are probably quite a few errors in this and I'm quite aware despite skimming through it like 3 times.
-The reversed music at times was not a matter of being rushed, it was more to serve comedic effect.
-Holiday Inn Express won't choke you in your sleep and put battery acid in your coffee. Please don't go there thinking this.
-I'm actually a lot better at animating in Blender than some of the animations represented in this video. Not that it matters.
-Besides all of that, I'm actually fairly happy as to how this turned out despite whatever issues may exist. I hope you enjoy.
The only errors I saw are that number 4 (not going to try to spell it) and Media Blasters aren't rated nightmare anymore
End of the video says it all. The list of nightmare logos changes WAY too much so it's hard to pinpoint, this is based off of memory and it's not like I strive for super accuracy
Better than I thought though.
I wish I knew how to animate in Blender. Sometimes the 2D spaces of Sony Vegas and After Effects can get boring.
I first got Blender in April 2016, and didn't learn how to make an animation until December lol. Once you learn basic stuff, making more advanced things is very easy if you have the time. I'd suggest watching tutorials, there are lots on RUclips

Frankly, I would've put DiC's "Kid in Bed" logo on here too. It's got a reputation for being scary but it only had any kind of creepiness to me as a small child. Going back and looking at it now it seems they were trying to make it dreamlike, relaxing even! ...actually I wonder if a lot of the infamous ones here like Viacom, Klasky-Csupo, and Screen Gems retain that reputation because people were afraid of them as youngsters and just don't want to take a second look?
The reason why I didn't put that in here is because last I checked it's no longer a nightmare logo.

Same. How tf does one find Viacom and Screen Gems scary? Not a death mask,not a snake-devouring bunny,not a freaking dead panda,it's literally animation on calming music. I guess none of the logo community is scared of those as of now.
13: That award you mentioned more deserves to be on Manish or Ramsay. Yeah, it starts creepy, but the rest of it is pretty much harmless. Remove the first half and it's pretty much none to low
12: This one actually is unnerving in my opinion, though I'd say it's more of medium to high
11: Meh. This logo has absolutely nothing in it. Every logo the company had before it was better. And I can't even believe I called this unsettling in the past. The first logo was scarier, and I agree with it's scare factor of medium
10: This one appeared on my least scary list. Guess how I feel about it from that
9: "Pure nightmare" they said. Not even close to deserving of that scare factor
8: I think this one actually is unnerving, though I'd say low/medium to high for a scare factor
7: This one actually is unsettling
6: The fanfare is a bit creepy, but nothing worth all the infamy it's gotten. Also, I laughed at the parody
5: Not even scary. The whole WillWill45 thing that I discovered though the revision history was not worth all that. And the "if you're scared of that, you're scared of these" part made me laugh
4: I actually do find this one unnerving for some reason
3: Had to skip because it was so boring. Pretty much sums up my opinions

1: Even some of the transitions in this video were scarier
Also, the 240p in 2017 logo was funny
I personally don't find any scary logo "scary" to me,. Back at school, I watched the Viacom V of Doom when I was a kid, and surprise surprise, I did not get scared by it.
I even watched the Screen Gems "S from Hell" logo when I was watching Bewitched on Sky Living when it was known as Living at the time I watched it. Same reason as when I watched the V of Doom, I did not get scared by it either.
Speaking of Klasky Csupo, most of the Object thingy people tend to overuse the logo and overmilk the "Klasky Csupo Effects" series, which is a shame because I uploaded on of these, but I privated that because loads of Object Thingy people started to suck up to me.
I get that people are scared of some logos when they're little, I can understand that, but me? I expect moving visuals and music, but that's just me.

How to tie a shoe:
1: get a shoe. It doesn’t have to have laces and should be really long (clown shoes for example).
2: TIE IT!!!!!!!!

I understand why you don't find the logos scary, you're first discovering them as an adult, the logos were scary to people as kids. The V of Doom was before my time but I know it's a lot different being 3 or 4 years old and seeing something on a TV screen than being an adult and seeing it on a computer monitor. The API logo scared the shit out of me as a little kid, the ceiling fan one, I would burst into tears when it appeared on screen, something about it was just WRONG to me. Even as an adult it makes me feel uneasy. Of course I don't cry anymore when I see it but I still remember how it felt being that scared little girl seeing it on VHS.
That Ka 2 logo was awesome. Holy shit

I don't know what that "eleven" thing was at 2:26, but it was honestly kind of creepy.
Its a reference to Metromedia Television 11, who used to use that jingle in their ads.
That was Channel 11 of Metromedia Television, which used for the stations KTTV and WTCN (WTCN is now KARE).
KTTV is used for Los Angeles and WTCN for Twin Cities (St. Paul-Minneapolis) And KTTV now is signed as FOX 11 station or FOX Los Angeles.

Lovely stuff man. I've been trying as much as I can to catch up with your work when I have free time. Always cheers me up and relieves a bit of the stress from the study I've been doing. Keep it up!
A few mistakes.....
1. The Murghan Enterprise logo lasted from 1974 to 1986.
2. The Polygram Video logo was used I think once more in 2007.
3. Despite the logo still being used, the one in the video was used from 1977 to 2009.
4. Ushasri Productions doesn't have a nightmare rating anymore... (Medium to High)
5. Media Blasters has a High rating on the CLG Wiki.
6. Sinister Cinema has a Low to High rating now.
7. The "S from Hell" now has a Low to High rating, i think? But the Hawk variant (where a shrill saxophone plays the infamous jingle) is a Nightmare logo. (A Low to Nightmare rating to be exact.)
(It may be accurate by the date the video was posted, but updated since October 2017.)
Despite this, it's a good video.

The Viacom V logo is unnerving, but the only logo I ever got nightmares of was the THX one, and that was when I was 7.

To be fair, I was deathly terrified of WGBH as a child. Was also scared by K-C back in the day as well because of my fear of giant eyes back then as well. Personally, I find the "Graffiti" logo to be more unnerving.

One last thing. Water alarms do exist in a way (tsunami sirens).
At least for me, The Graffiti variant was a bit more easier to get used to.

I like how the water alarm is basically an image manipulated Amseco fire alarm HS, and the #2 animation has a nod to the WorldVision logo’s synth effect.
I have no idea what an amseco fire alarm HS is (I'm sure it's a fire alarm but I like the useless information)
but the sound at #2 is actually from the same database of sounds that contained the Worldvision logo

Anyway, there are a couple I think are at a good spot. I recently mentioned Murghan. Superfilms Video Home is just eerie. Music that will haunt you. Dark spacey atmosphere. Anything that'll work for a nightmare rating. Most Argentine logos are cheesy and cheap but this one's another story.
I also suggest you to do a video on the "Top 15 Scariest Indian Logos". Who suggested this before? Do you accept suggestions?

The only one I don't understand on the list is Murghan Enterprises because I understand why people would get a chill or two watching it. Personally, I get one when I am watching logos at night, but other then that, I can watch it.

#9 You made a mistake at #9 since I have some evidence that it was only used in 1995. This one is also still startling to me due to its random nature. I also doubt you'd really get bored of watching it the first time because VTM probably did announce that there was a new television network and because the visuals were relatively unique by Belgian television standards. Because of those reasons I doubt you'd get bored from watching it the first time around. Scared or excited perhaps, but not bored. I do however think you're right when you're saying that seeing it over and over makes it get boring after a while. It's unsuprising that it was only used for a year.

#7 I'd still say it's nightmare. Outside of the sounds it's also visually monochromed in rather unpleasant colors to watch. Not to mention that the animation is rather slow and unsettling.

13. I already mentioned that this was the most disturbing Indian logo in another comment, and it mostly because I don't know Indian culture, and only my own. The music and fire simply give off a hellish vibe to me.

No. First off, yes, that is what i meant and second, holy guacamole i’m impressed but also not that surprisedioli. I mean, this logo is pure nightmare in my opinion, and i have trouble sleeping because of it but i seem to be the minority here. Most lists i check put this logo quite low on the list if at all.
