I was putting up my tent late at evening (or more often night) and packing up at sunrise every day so I didn't have any problems. But putting a tent after 6pm should be fine. Make sure you have enough water and snacks between Malga di Gran Fanes and Rifugio Lagazuoi. Also there was only a few water streams when I hiked. Also thunder storms in the mountains come really fast and are very scary if you are at the top of the pass :)

Maybe in the future. I will be in Italy at the beginning of June, but it might be to early for Alta via 2.
