Y’all should do more videos in the True Stories series - it’s so we’ll done!
You're commenting on one they just did, can you give them a second?!😂
@@timothygraham4304 I didn't mean release one tomorrow - would you rather have me post the same comment in 3 weeks lol
I agree
Yes please...war stories as well
This was the first ppv I've ever watched. 5 year old me was hooked on the vacant title with all 6 competitors being believable to win. My favorites were Batista, Benoit, Kane, Shelton Benjamin and Christian. This show, and the main event will always hold a special place in my heart.
Mine also! Caught some Bottom Line on TV and became hooked to this storyline
@@marcohavokkhaos They also had HHH retain to end the Orton Face run at the Rumble just a few weeks later
As being from Puerto Rico, it’s so amazing that you guys explore our crazy, depraved wrestling History. What can I say? We take this shit seriously 😭
Pa que lo sepa!!!
BACKLASH WILL TAKE PLACE THERE YOU SHOULD BE EXCITED ABOUT THAT.
In this IWC RUclips scene we tend to see a lot of repeated stories throughout different challenges ex: Montreal screwjob. So this was refreshing and awesome to see a story I hadn’t heard about before get coverage. Great job lads!
Thank you for covering Puerto Rico, we have a rich wrestling history including dozens of HOF that campaing in the Island.
Sounds like a horrible place to be
Sat and binge watched most of the True Story episodes today, they are fantastic. Cheers Jack and co, made a dull day in front of the laptop editing far more enjoyable.
True story of Raven vs Tommy Dreamer fued and how they managed to tell it for years would be a good watch, always wondered how they pulled that off.
I can’t wait until your next “weirdest show” video, Jack! Those are some of the best on this channel.
I’m from Puerto Rico and didn’t know many of the details described in this video. I’m 26 and started watching WWE in December 2005, been hooked ver since. Before that, I used to love IWA, it was entertaining for a local product. My first event was a house show in june 2006 at the same arena they held NYR, it was sold out, and they always have good crowds when they come on tour. I’ll be there for SmackDown and Backlash, hopefully this translates to a fresh start for WWE and Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
What an event Backlash was 🇵🇷🔥
My grandma would always tell me about her mom watching Carlito Colón on TV in PR. Wrestling has always been huge in PR and I’m so happy my island is getting another show this year 🇵🇷
I love the True Story videos. I appreciate learning all this history, especially considering that when watching this event, I would have never known so much was going on!
I love the stock clip of people at a box office was from a Blue Jays game. Toronto Represent!!!
Trish and Lita were not the first all women's main event of raw! Lita vs Stephanie McMahon for the Women's title is.
its ok about the spelling bro
I live here in PR and I miss 2005 but not this year.
Thank you for this it means a lot to us.
I remember loving this PPV.
While a lot of bad things happened here, we live in a different era in wrestling. No wrestler should fear Puerto Rico anymore.
WWE has had a lot of non televised non events here and nothing bad ever happened
Just stay outta the showers
@@bradcarver8127 funny and original
Honestly I enjoyed the hell out of this show especially because of that crowd, my God I swear foreign fans are some of the best when it comes to energy, as Americans we are spoiled with wrestling especially WWE
Puerto Rico is part of America.
At the time it was interesting to see WWE hold an event in another country besides the US, Canada, or the UK.
In my country Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
Technically a US territory. Though it shouldn’t be, or they should let them vote. One of the two 🤷🏻♂️
Puerto Rico is sorta USA but eh
@@smarties9865 except that Spanish is the main language
Puerto Rico is a US territory so technically it part of the usa
That elimination chamber is still my favorite chamber match ever. And the crowd cheering Heel HHH!
i like this concept, its like a mystery thanks jack
I used to watch RAW & SmackDown back then & can't wait for SmackDown & Backlash next week
I can't wait for the Puerto Rico shows and hear "Uno, Dos, Tres".
EDIT: I was talking about the ref counts
God no 💀💀 and im from there
Not in any Roman match. Instead it will be “USOs, Solo, Roman wins”.
@@six6thdisciple No the ref counts
I wonder if the crowd will do the Bullet Club "Sweet" (Dulce) chant after "Dos"?
Can’t wait for that “Juaaaa Juaaaa”
Lita wrecking her knee ruined what could've been a true contender for highlight match at WM21.
Mickie James was supposed to come in as Lita's stalker, but I feel like we got a better turnout
Arbys
Steph and Lita in August 2000 were the first actual women’s main event and it was even for the championship! One of the first and only times Vince was ok with his family being erased from the record books 😅
Actually, Alundra Blayze VS Bertha Faye main evented Raw on October 23, 1995.
For one, that wasn’t the first time women had main evented a WWE show. For another, how are they erasing anything? Like, what do you think they cite as the first women’s main event?
always appreciate your work jack thank you
Thank For The Story Video 📖🙊🤯🥰💕😍🇵🇷😁🌟🤍🥇🏆
Great video, but Puerto Rico isn’t really “overseas” for WWE since its a territory of the US and you can fly there from Miami in like two hours.
Overseas, meaning to cross a large body of water, which they did. Lol, and just in case im puerto rican
The very night this was happening I was waiting in Hotel Normandie (which still existed at that moment) in San Juan, to ship to Basic Training at Fort Sill next day.
Did anyone else realize he called Puerto Rico a country
Crazy this was almost 20 years ago.
Omg I was 15 Cheering for my all time great edge ,,makes me feel so old 😢 still great to see him go out there n brake a leg every now and again in a cage match lol
Puerto Rico is not a country. It's an overseas territory of the USA.
good video
Do more of these. You're producing better content than WWE could EVER produce!
How to forget my first PPV, big Benoit fan at that moment. Aside from the hurt talent, loved the chamber match.
OMG y’all did this days before they come back to PR let’s Go 🎉
Presumably if Puerto Rico was called US Puerto Rico or American Puerto Rico like US Virgin Islands and American Samoa people would remember it’s a US territory, and not a country. I wonder if Guam has the same issues.
Don't matter they are to be appreciative that the United States is there protector in the Caribbean. Can stand with foreigners come to this damn country and so damn ungrateful. Do you see any of us in United States going over to foreign countries as visitors on tourism and talking crap about there country? Hell no
I remember watching this on PPV. When Eugene got hurt, I instantly recognized because he totally broke character.
Thanks 👍
Puerto Rico is an American territory not a different nation
And it's ungrateful
Triple H vs Randy Orton-WWE World Heavyweight Title
Triple H defends his World Title against the Legend Killer Randy Orton with The Game defeating Randy Orton to retain the WWE World Title.
Chris Benoit vs Edge
Chris Benoit and Edge look to destroy one another in this match with it being made a 2 Out Of 3 Falls match seeing Benoit get fhe win with Edge shoulders clearly being off the ground.
Shelton Benjamin vs Chris Jericho-WWE IC Title
Benjamin faces Jericho for the IC Title with Benjamin scoring the upset to become the new Intercontinental Champion.
Trish Stratus vs Lita-WWE Women's Title
Stratus defends her WWE Women's Title against Lita with Lita scoring the upset to become the new Women's Champion.
Booker T/Goldust vs Batista/Flair-WWE World
Jack you are the man!
Love your True Story read's Jack. almost as much as i despise your "gotta wear a beanie every single day of life like its 2003" Gimmick lmao jk Jack. Great Episode sir
A literal one match card would have been better than the first 5 matches. Eugene and Lita were very unlucky. The Maven and Lawler matches were the absolute pits. Elimination Chamber was phenomenal though.
Watched this in the movie theater with the boys 😂
Clicked for Lita.
“Lack of depth of the brand”… kind of the reason why the separate brands is stupid.
Brand split ruined the show. That and HHH booking himself to beat everybody.
I was there and it was great
Yes, we’ve had a couple
Of big problems when it comes to wrestling, mainly Bruiser’s death, but this is a bit of fear mongering for the wrestlers and people who don’t know much about the island and it’s history. They ran live shows during the attitude era and recently various times with no problems.
“Fear mongering”, even driving a car is a risk in PR. They don’t know how to drive. You either don’t live in PR or you live under a rock.
Wouldn’t be much of a problem if people were actually charged.
Do one on Hornswoggle since he announced his possible retirement.
15:00 What’s up with Benoit’s face right there
Soon as Any1 mentions this Its EDGE straight away 1 of my top 10 it not the best memory of 25 years of wrestling
Not related, but I was excited to see Lita for the first time (the woman that got me into this 18 years ago) in PR, and now she’s gone again :’)
Wait until Summerslam.
Oh she’s definitely not gone. She’ll be back before summerslam.
Puerto Rico is more well known as the place Wrestler Bruiser Brody was killed in 1988 ......... Brody died from stab wounds suffered backstage in the shower area of the locker room.........during a wrestling event in Puerto Rico. by José González, better known as Invader 1. A jury acquitted González of murder, ruling that González killed Brody in self-defense. Key witnesses to the killing did not give testimony at González' trial due to their summonses only being received after the trial had concluded.
We need a Vince get out & Stay out of WWE revolution
@@kidneystonermusic no fool Vince is luckiest dumbest wrestling promoter ever he is no genius just extremely lucky in a million ways now more than ever its time for him to go
Thank u that 😂
@@kidneystonermusic It's not school fool just comment section 😆
My wife (who was my fiance at the time) bought tickets to this PPV as a surprise. It's my only WWE live event. I realized then and there that I prefer to watch it on TV than live. Being far from the ring and lacking commentary made it boring.
Jack you spelled Hiram Bithorn correctly
Ouch 👴
thanks bro
Do backlash 2002!!
I remember being in line for 24 hours at the coliseum to get tickets, it was a crap card but we had a lot of fun, still have the chair in storage. Let hope to here some puñeta or other great profanity.
Los puñetas van a llover
Puerto Rico is an American territory, so its not exactly “foreign” or overseas lol
It's an ungrateful ass u.s. territory
it is both foreign and overseas. we do not share a culture w the USA.
I bought this back in the day. The undercard was rotten, but the main event almost made up for it.
It probably didnt help Puerto Rico getting a show for all those years after the murder of Bruiser Brody in 1988.
5:38 Commodore 64?
Is it too much to ask that you get pesky details right, like the fact that Puerto Rico is not a country and is actually part of the US? Too much?
Ahem I know this been a min for this but I gotta do it for Le Culti-Crew!
STORYTIME!!!!!!
[Notes the double knee injuries on this show]
[Remembers Rey Mysterio will be there]
*My knee*
Puerto Rico is not a country...its part of the USA like Hawaii...its a very small territory/ small island 🏝️
Hawaii is a state, Puerto Rico isn’t
Puerto Rico is more similar to Guam in that the US owns it, but is not a state.
@@robdurfee6861 true, they voted on it but people in P.R voted no because they have lower taxes
Not all of them voted for it.
Not clear if one side would allow it anyway.
@@christinamcconnell2032 and it's a ungrateful ass territory that will be a another Cuba if it hadn't been for United States help.

Who put HHH in black face? 😂
Hiram Bithorn - Eee-rahm Bee-thorn
Puerto Rico is not a country it’s territory of The United States lol
No it’s not
I hate this show.
Invader 1 is coming out of retirement for Backlash … oh Vince you scamp
Puerto Rico seems like little bit curse to WWE
We'll see this coming weekend 😬
Oh dang
They should bring this back. Along with Armageddon.
This might just be my opinion, but at the end of 2021, I think WWE was planning on being back "New Year's Revolution" as a PLA on Jan 1st, 2022, but because AEW already had the PLA/PPV called "Revolution", it would lead to confusion and such, and WWE decided to go with "Day 1" as the PLA instead, which honestly, sounds kind of lame.
I still consider "Day 1" as "New Year's Revolution" in my books.
Puerto Rico is not a country
Well, Puerto Rico is actually a US territory and its people are also US citizens, even though they speak and look like "Mexican"
I've been to both places multiple times and there's nothing similar between them or their people, Puerto rico feels like being in Florida and the people are bilingual, mexico in the other hand although Is a lovely place is very underdeveloped and finding someone that speaks English is a pickle...
Puerto Rico is not like Florida in the slightest, you probably only went to the northern region hence why everyone was mostly 'bilingual'@@KCDWolf
Lita always botches, almost all her injuries were self inflicted
Her first injury, a dislocated shoulder was from Eddie powerbombing her on the outside. Not self inflicted.
Her 2nd injury, a stuntwoman dropped her on her head & broke her neck.
Her third & final injury was everything being ripped out of her knee by doing a diving thesz press in exactly the way Mickie James does it to this day.
Which one was self inflicted, exactly? Feel free to give examples 😂
Literally took the words right out of my mouth! 👍👏👏👏
I find it so funny when people also try and accuse Lita of being injury prone when she had 3 injuries in WWE. Yet Trish broke her ankle, broke her hand, dislocated her shoulder and hurt her back that all took her out of action 🤷🏼♂️
Not saying she’s injury prone btw just pointing out she had more injuries!
@@shaunc4518 don't forget the nose injury too.
@@shaunc4518 Trish also popped a tit if I remember correctly.
@@flippineck2825. Technically the third example w like be an example of it being self inflicted as you pointed out other wrestlers do it all the time without injury.
