Each of the Milies refers to a specific S1 episode. The one that was hit with a bottle, shot, and tied up is from "Murder Family". The burned up one is from "LooLoo Land", the one that was "gloopy" is from "Spring Broken", and the one shot full of angelic bolts is from "CHERUB". The final onethat was all mangled is from "Harvest Moon Festival". Each represents an instance where Millie could have died.
you are like THE first reaction channel i've seen that got the foxxie joke. THEY ALWAYS PUT ROXXIE OR FOXXIE so refreshing to see someone remember it!!
Same, and I'm so embarrassed that I didn't get it at first. I was just so taken by the idea that she'd put "foxxie" as in attractive that I forgot that's not how coffee works.
That fight just cemented the fact that blitz is actually a beast in combat. Because it's Millie, I get why the default thought is she could've killed him at any time but blitz never went on the offensive. Just imagine if he went at her as hard as she went at him. Would've been best fight of the series hands down.
Yeah, but I don't think she was really trying hard either - she thought he was there looking for payback, but he hadn't really made an offensive move yet, and we've seen her fight a _lot_ harder than that. Really just feeling each other out. "Is this guy a real threat" vs "Is this person as good as Moxie thinks".
28:40 and Stryker is the best assasin from Wrath. So we need to remember that Blitz is also strong, because he was in a draw with Stryker in the Pain competition
Blitz can fight 😂. Everyone seems to forget. We see him do badass stuff like that all the time. Sure, Millie is the powerhouse, but Blitz is up there. Probably, she was surprised he was able to keep up as she continued to get more into the fight. 😂
I think Blitz needed to hear Millie say that he made her life better and doesn't hate him first for him to break out of his mental state and be able to become himself again and fight the demon dude. Because his mental state in the beginning wasn't just about Stolas but about him feeling like everyone hates him and nobody could ever love him after AT and the hate party. He really needed that confirmation to break out of his self-destruction and go of that Bathinee Goztfukr persona. Just knowing one person care when you feel like you are hated by everyone makes a big difference.
Seeing more workers in the IMP building makes it clear how many lives Blitz has saved without realizing it, there are many who look up to him, he is the voice of empowerment for them.
Those looked like succubi and incubi that work with Verosika. There looks like it's still a lust office on the same floor as I.M.P. And technically doesn't I.M.P. now work for Asmodeus since they have a crystal?
One thing I kinda disagree with you on, you saying "I wish they stayed a little bit longer on Blitz´ trauma" isn´t that what a lot of other episodes already did, like truthseekers, and we spend enough time there? Which is why I find it nice that this time for once, we have Millie kinda interupting the trauma with her backstory (similar to when she interrupted hotel demon guy), which shows the positive impact Blitz had, and by that extend her friendship, instead of focusing on the bad even longer 🤔but yeah, better timing might have worked a bit better. And I see where you´re coming from, your version also sounds valid, this is not a "UGH, your so worng on evr1thing!!^!" kinda comment XD
You're kind of overthinking this. The Millies were all ways she could have died in Season 1 missions. The one with the ropes and twigs on her was her dying tied to the stake in Murder Family. The one burned in green fire was at Loo Loo Land. The melted one died in the mutated fish's stomach in Spring Breakers. The one filled with holy arrows was from the fight with the Cherubs.
Also, in regards to Millie v Blitzo, don't forget that Blitzo has beaten Striker in a fight twice while Striker pretty much dogwalked Millie. He's doesn't flex that he's near the peak of physical condition for imps very often, but he's pretty close to the top of the food chain of his species when he stops playing around.
It took me a while, but I did manage to recall one scene in the series that managed to pass the Bechdel Test. The finale of season 1, "Queen Bee", has the conversation between Loona and Beelzebub after the song manages to pass. 😅 I'm pretty sure that's the only pass across the series not counting the shorts.
@xanderfoxjsc oh, I got the joke. I was just using it as an opportunity to think back through the episodes. I am curious if I'm forgetting any other moments. I've watched through the series a bunch and am honestly wondering.
@@martins.4240 I don't think this episode can count on a weird technicality. They didn't know it at the time, but since they were talking about the murderer, and the murderer was a guy, it doesn't pass. You are right to mention Hell's Belles. I said not counting the shorts in my initial post, but I should have mentioned it by name.
@@solitaryrecluse7740 I guess you're technically correct (usually the best kind of correct) about this episode, but on the other hand, Rita didn't know that Rolando was, well, Rolando. She only mentioned a ghost, not the gender.
The Bethany design feels like it was specifically made for cosplayers. Very basic dress, hat/belt to make it recognizable, add a vacuum and sex toys to taste.
You missed the point. During the fight was Millie telling the story to help Blitz feel better. It may not have happened exactly as she told it but that's not the point. She was being nice to him when he needed it most. Emotional support.
The animation, the heartbreak moments and the first villain the can go to to toe with Millie and Blitzo and wreck them both in a fight, and once again, all with one of the best reactors to this. Thank you again for this reaction video
Also, notice the length of the order on Moxie's cup compared to the others. 🤣 I love the little touch that, when Blitz first encounters the black ooze and wipes it off his hands on his clothing, nothing actually appears on his shirt, and it never transfers to his leggings when he's crawling through it, because it's not really there. The moment with Millie staring up into the red sky of Pride feels so poignant. Like, that's what Blitz has literally given them, Pride. IN the Murder Family memory, Blitz is standing to the side after being rescued while they hug ("Oh don't worry about ME I'm FINE" ) and the part of this with his hands is from Truth Seekers (I think), he's reaching his hands out to be included in the hug, and they ignore him. It was a really noticeable moment in the episode (even though I can't quite remember which episode, I remember noticing his hands) as well and I always wondered if it would ever come up. Kind of cool I wasn't imagining it :D
Nice reaction! Apart from Airier, you're the only reactor that can double the actual episode runtime and still make it all interesting with in-depth analysis and theorising, so well done! And yeah...I know others have already pointed it out, but the scene with all the Millies showed how Blitzø it very aware of (and terrified of) all the different ways Millie could have died during their missions. In his messed-up way he really cares a lot about her, I think.
I think your spot on in your conclusion about timing being weird, but I think it would’ve worked better if the first instance of the various Millies ended with a Stolas related horror, possibly an instance of Stolas tied up and killed looking like he was during the Striker incident. After that it could play as it did up until the demons playback of Blitzø’s life, where he would seemingly breaks free of his chains only to find his mom when he’s running away trying to find an exit. After that I think the rest could play out as it did, but it would put way more emphasis on just how fucked up Blitzø is in his mind, particularly with his mom being the real core issue that has led to the mindset that created all the previous issues.
In the nightmare memory reel someone else noticed that in the parts with stolas at Ozzie's he doesn't remember the part of Stolas covering his face with the menu which some felt confirmed to blitz he was embarrassed to be seen with him but it apparently didn't register to him as a bad thing as much as him pulling his hand away when stolas reached out. Also Stolas's face looks softer and a bit prettier too. Also while they didn't have a lot screen time it shows how more caring Loona has become toward M&M with caring after moxxie and she was smart enough to figure out his math error.
“I feel like I’m watching a Brandon Rodgers skit animated.” 🤣🤣🤣 Also, the Millies are how she could have died in episodes 1-5 in season 1. I love the flashback fight between Blitzø and Millie. You can take the clown out of the circus, but you can’t take the circus out of the clown. (Both his acrobatics during the fight, and then not flinching at the knife throw.) Blitzø really needed those talks with Millie. He needed someone to say that their life is UNEQUIVOCALLY better because of him. (And Stolas doesn’t actually hate him, but feels like Blitzø doesn’t care about him. But of course Blitzø doesn’t see that.) I didn’t mind how short the first part of Rolando screwing with Blitzø was. One, I’m a wimp at horror and they managed to not scare me off. And two, we got a second round of it with Rolando possessing Blitzø. And another heartbreaking thing about Cash hitting Blitzø- this was right after the fire. You can see his burns as dark, fresh wounds. And Cash had grabbed him by one of his burned wrists to keep him in range. 😭😭😭
56:05 fans are so tired of Blitz's trauma. You have to understand that they have been rewatching Oops for months waiting for a new episode. They say that it is already clear that his mother died because of him, that is why Blitz is such a character, don't need to repeating it over and over again. Someone even might say: "we already understood this from episode 7 of season 1, and someones have been building theories even since episode 2 of season 1." That is why Blitz and Millie's past is more important to them, because it is less clear. For me, this another scene with the mother is needed to show that Blitz compares Millie and his mother. They are both the only people in his circle who tolerate him. So it is a nightmare if Millie dies because of him like his mother. The impact for me if this scene was longer no, because I think that structurally this particular episode should have more positive things. Because the previous episodes already had these negative things, and there is no need to repeat them. Also purely plot-wise, this should show, judging by Ronaldo's next nightmare, that, oddly enough, Stolas is almost a stronger trauma in Blitz's life, which is necessary for Stolas's guilt in future episodes. That is, Stolas is not the key trauma that started everything, but it takes up a large place
But seriously, physically and psychologically, contender for best villain yet, certainly up there with Striker, Crimson and Mammon so far as excellent villains, one more needed for a top 5
These are alternate movies Millies from all the past episodes, because remember in episode one of the show the guy through a glass bottle and that’s the Milli the glass in her eye in this episode because it’s an alternate version of her
Each of the Millies are ways she could have died, the one burning is from the fire at Loo Loo Land, the one with the arrows was from their forst fight with the Cherubs, the melted version is from episode 2 when she was swallowed by the mutated fish, how she would have looked digested.
I agree that the pacing didn't flow as well as it could have. I would have been a lot more happy with less of the scooby doo homage and fight scenes to make room for more time in Blitz's sub conscious, more of him spiraling out in front of Mill, and more emotionally vulnerable dialogue between them. For example I would have LOVED it if when Mill returned his mothers pendant to him, if she'd asked him "what is this anyway, why is it so important to you?". We could have then had a scene of Blitz letting Millie in to the most formative moment for him and we could have seen her get a deeper understanding of who he really is (like a best friend would). I would have also really liked if that last scene sitting on top of the van if she'd gotten him to open up about how he really feels about Stolas and why previously he'd been so hell bent on downplaying the significance of the relationship
Just one thing, Millie most certainly couldn't defeat Blitzø very easily. She's a berserker type of fighter, gets carried away when seemingly having success (implied in The Harvest Moon Festival and Ozzie's, seen on Truth Seekers and obviously in Exes and Ohs, which was when she had the most to lose), and gets tense when facing a real challenge (like here in both fights, or on Spring Broken, Western Energy and Operation Antarctica). Although all imps seem to be rather fragile, we know Millie to be easily taken out in Murder Family and The Harvest Moon Festival if taken by surprise, as well as struggling against the C.H.E.R.U.B.s in their debut and more so on the Full Moon when they got their upgrades developed by D.H.O.R.K.S.). Blitzø roughed up Stryker, and just like in his fight with Millie, he knows how to use his tail to hold or throw people, and he didn't flinch when she threw the knife, he knows when he's in danger. Overall, Millie uses her bloodlust, and we've only seen her use a gun once, while Blitz is more calculated, and can hold his own in melee, while being physically stronger than most imps, slightly more durable and is a great marksman (though not quite to Moxxie's level). So I think a stalemate or even a slight advantage for Blitzø is plausible, which is probably why she respected him so much at that encounter.
For one second really Millie was talking to Loona and the client all of whom are feminine about where people go when they die, and that ghosts don’t exist, which is technically not about a man
Great reaction! It does seem like there’s always something wrong with the episode that keeps them from saying how great the episode really was. I just always take what I get and enjoy them. However, I think the shortness of the scene with his mom was purposeful because he never did see his mom die. I don’t think. In fact, I don’t think anybody saw his mom die. He found her choker and saw her tent was on fire. I don’t want to take away the trauma, that was built up you know if she really did die but I’m just saying that there could be a chance that maybe she still alive. The eyes falling out of her face could also represent that it wasn’t a seen death. Also the Millies I think represent if Millie died in every one of those episodes in season one. the first one could represent the pilot because her character wasn’t well developed yet because it didn’t even have her actual voice actress voicing her but also, she was a little different. The next one we see when she comes out the closet she was hit with a bottle and tied up to a steak in murder family, and then of course the one when she’s dressed up like a bodyguard and on fire in Loo loo Land and whenever she gets eaten by the monster in spring broken and so on. Also, I think the time zones are different for the shorts and the actual episodes because I think it’s trying to keep its fan base that want to see missions and funny stuff and stay away from the drama, but that’s just my opinion. But yeah I loved the episode and can’t wait to see your reactions on the next one.
I feel like they are trying to fix Blitz I know you want it to last longer his trauma but I feel like we will probably get more each episode this season that are left its not that they aren't lingering on it. It's that they are trying to keep the pacing of the episode from being jarring
I kinda disagree with u about the timing of the trauma scene. I think is meant to be this way because we have saw a lot Blitz spiraling into his trauma in others episodes, bit this time he is not alone, there is Millie who stopped him remembering him how he made her life better. It was important for Blitz just stop right here with his panic attack thanks to a real friend like Millie. A beautiful moment

This is better than Scooby Doo and I’m still a big fan of it so blitz
30:22 I dont think that stolas is mad at him and verosika too after last episode
If you haven’t seen it could you play Slay the Princess, it’s a horror choose your own adventure style game. It’s very good.
