OH, bad weather gives me anxiety, ever since a tree came crashing through my 52 year old Spanish tile garage roof 2 years ago. I had the tree cut down, and another tall one. But as soon as I see the trees start blowing and hear the wind , I get PTSD! Your garden looks lovely. I know you have been waiting for the growth on the trees to decorate for the holidays! All the old footage is so inspiring!
your lil garden is so cute...love all your plants watch that wisteria it can take over everything keep it trimmed back. I also garden a lot I have 2 gardens and about 50 pots...I fell in love with gardening at age 20 and now i am 65. wow that river is scary high, and our tornados and hurricanes will only get worse due to climate change. I love that you make crafts and sell them , you are so talented at that I am just amazed at some of your vintage style crafts. Keep it up Chris since you have this love in your heart. I used to make crafts as well but had to stop I was just making them for me and I accumulated too much...lol. Cannot wait to see your fall home tour, you do it beautifully!! God bless

We have “batty”, we call him that spends his days sleeping in the high corner of our front porch. We enjoy watching him swop down low near us in the evening or especially if out for an evening swim in the pool. Nice to see a video from you. Your gardens are looking beautiful.. I'm glad your basement didn't get water. Water damage is the worst. You were smart to move things to the upper levels. Hope to see your videos again.
We use to get water in our basement and we don’t live near a river. We had a basement service out of Omaha come and they put a trench all around the inside perimeter of the basement. A sump pump takes it out. Works great. Not cheap but have not had a drop of water in since. Your yard is so pretty. You have the perfect house for decorating.
Your home & gardens are beautiful! So sorry about your tree. We had Beryl a few weeks ago, was out of power for 5 days in TX heat & humidity but thankfully no other damage. Looking forward to your holiday decor series; you do such a great job! ❤️

I do love a good storm without damage… When l was young , l went to a sleep away camp in VT . We would love watching thunder & lightning as storms rolled across the lake . Our cabins would shake from the thunder. On nicer nights we would watch the bats 🦇 fly over the lake… sometimes they would get in the cabins . We would scream and hid under our blankets. Your video sparked so many wonderful memories. Thank you

Yes - I'm so happy it didn't flood here! It was a few weeks watching the river rise about a foot a day, & then hoping to not get too much rain (and then getting more rain) lol. I told Tim it was all the uncertainty of a tornado warning, but for days. We had been getting quite a bit of rain for the river to get that high though - 1.5" one day, 3.5" rain storm after that, some 2 - 2.5" rains - just over and over again. I was mowing our lawn every 4 days, taking off about 4" of grass each time. It probably needed it more often than that (as seen in this video lol), but I wanted to do other things than just mowing :) You have a great rest of the summer too, and I too am looking forward to the Fall season (it's slowly starting indoors here!) :)
The gardens look lovely! My favorite flowers are Irises and the deep purple I am especially fond of! The weather has been extreme lately glad to hear no flooding I would have moved the decor as well just not knowing how much higher the river would rise well worth the burden just to be safe! Looking forward to the change of season and decorating!
*_I had 2 planters adorned just like that @_**_0:19_**_ but in a couple of years the perhaps overgrown ivy killed my evergreen, so watch out if your evergreen starts turning brown. Your garden is spectacular !_*

Hi Phyllis! I'm not sure if the tree will be ok - I'm hoping it will be! I remember a smaller tree my brother and I planted at our grandma's house years ago that suffered some storm damage - split the tree down the center a ways. We put it back together and tied it in a few places and it grew back together, so if that tree survived, it's possible this one will be ok :) I'm slowly planning my fall and Halloween decor and hopefully will start recording some videos soon!
