    china balls failing first, japan ball failing last... yeah that checks out.

    What about waterproof smartphones? Maybe not the newest ones, because of the price, but still could be interesting to compare same IP ratings

    Bro if you get a high speed camera the videos would be INSANE! Like a slow motion implosion. Hope you get more subs. Have a nice day.

    But what makes a ball better for ping pong? I do wonder about durability differences between materials. Not worth worrying too much about though, given their cost.

    • @SL-jo4om
      @SL-jo4om 26 дней назад

      Good question. For high level players, it's consistency in size (from ball to ball) and sphericity. Ball durability is not an issue at the professional level because new balls are used for each match, so it's rare for balls to break during a professional match. The issue of minor imperfections is dealt with by allowing players to examine the balls and select the ones they like before a match. For amateurs, durability is more of an issue, since we don't have the luxury of using new balls every day.

    The pressure chamber can be also opened from the other side? That's new. Didn't know.

    Try different types of ammo, see if water would be able to get in.

    OK, serious science question: watching the pressure/depth gauge on the left of the screen, why does the chamber pressure decrease after every implosion?

    • @TheDropzoneChannel
      @TheDropzoneChannel  3 месяца назад +1

      Yep. After the implosion, the air pressure inside the ball suddenly goes up because it equalizes with the external water pressure. This causes the gas volume to decrease and the water pressure to decrease at the same time because the water has to fill the void inside the ball. That's why the chamber pressure drops.

    Perhaps by sheer luck or maybe not, the initial 4 attempts all resulted in the ball at the bottom being squashed in the end.

    How is the pressure inside the chamber increased? Water is incompressible so what's the mechanism?
    I couldn't find any explanations online...

    • @Tsopni
      @Tsopni 5 месяцев назад +4

      Water actually is compressiable. Much less than gasses, but still.

    • @Shlappyboy
      @Shlappyboy 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@Tsopni so water is being added to the chamber?

    • @Tsopni
      @Tsopni 5 месяцев назад +4

      @@Shlappyboy Yes, there is high efficiency pressure water pump adding more and more water.
      Every matter in universe is compressiable (to the point of singularity) if we can apply enough force.
      Compressed water is actually less dangerous than compressed air, because you need only little amount to rise pressure.

    • @seitenryu6844
      @seitenryu6844 5 месяцев назад

      You can still apply pressure to it. The objects in the tank are usually compressible too.

      It would be interesting to see a variety of low stiffness materials (low young modulus). Different foams and yes silicone rubber too. No implosions just squeeziness.
